Apparently there’s a widespread revolt going on between celebrities and paparazzi and it’s only inevitable that these strikes will contribute to a full war. Cameras are the weapon of choice for paparazzi while celebrities opt for fists, or just plain chasing as Rob Kardashian did this weekend.
Now, husband and wife Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox are being sued for allegedly assaulting a photographer on a Hawaiian beach last December.
Green and Fox weren’t too happy when paparazzo Delbert Shaw started snapping photos of them on the beach. They argued with the paparazzo until Green began “pummeling” him, while an apparently turned on Fox cheered from the sidelines.
Shaw says he suffered severe injuries and that Rob threw his iPhone in the ocean. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they were egged on.That revenge had to feel good on Green’s part, but was it worth it despite the lawsuit? [Source]
This is kind of a stretch. 50 Cent is being sued because one of his associates attacked a woman in his house, and 50 wasn’t even present when it happened.
TMZ says Dwayne McKenzie works for 50 cent, and McKenzie invited some women over to 50′s Connecticut mansion. A woman alleges McKenzie started to make ”graphic and vulgar sexual requests”.
The lady, Vasti Ortiz, tried to leave but then was assaulted by other women at the party upon the request of Dwayne. Ortiz claims she was severely injured.
Ortiz is now suing 50 because McKenzie was a violent criminal and should not have been working for the rapper.
Kobe Bryant is accused of assaulting a man in Church on Sunday over a cell phone picture.
According to KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, Bryant got upset after he thought the man was taking a cell phone picture of him and his wife. Bryant grabbed the phone out of the man’s hand, but didn’t find any pictures. The man is claiming his wrist was injured by Bryant.
Kobe – you gotta watch that temper.
According to People Magazine, early Monday morning singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw was attacked in the East Village in New York City at about 4:30 a.m. Following the attack, DeGraw, 34, who was alone at the time, stumbled into the middle of the street and was hit by a taxi cab. The singer was taken to Bellevue Hospital after a man, who police say had blood on his shirt and seemed to be intoxicated, called 911 with a report that a male was in need of assistance, located at the corner of 1st Ave. and 19th St.
DeGraw, who is currently on tour with Maroon 5 and Train, is believed to have suffered a broken nose and cuts to his face, and remains in stable condition.
In a statement, DeGraw’s representative said, ”Gavin DeGraw was assaulted … and was taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital by ambulance. He is currently under observation. We have no additional information at this time.”
We wish DeGraw a full and quick recovery!
It appears that Nicki Minaj was involved in a domestic dispute while staying in a Dallas hotel.
TMZ says last night Nicki reported to police she was “struck” in the lower lip. Witnesses saw Minaj hanging around the pool when she got into a verbal fight with a man she was staying with.
The man returned to their room, and Minaj followed. She later told the police the man assaulted her in the room.
The man took off before Police arrived, and Minaj does not want to press charges.
Estella Warren has been arrested for a DUI, hit and run, assault, and escape, reports E Online.
The model and ‘Planet of the Apes’ star landed herself in jail after allegedly smashing into three cars in Los Angeles on Monday. Warren then drove away from the scene, was nailed by cops and ultimately arrested for DUI. But then it gets worse.
Warren, who was driving her Toyota Prius when the incident happened, then resisted arrest and kicked a cop. After trying to flee from the scene, police caught up with her and cuffed and hauled her off to the station. She failed a field-sobriety test just past midnight (obviously.)
But the sad saga continues.
When Warren was being booked, she managed to slip her skinny model wrists out of her handcuffs and bolted for the back door of the station, where she tried to escape yet again.
The ‘Sports Illustrated’ model was quickly caught (again) and was booked on an additional charge of felony escape. Which brought her rap sheet total up to four for the night.
Incidentally, while Warren has publicly cited her age as 32, her booking report lists her as 40. Maybe that’s why she was so desperate to flee – she didn’t want her real age to be revealed. Her bail has been set at $100,000.
This is such a crazy story, I love for things like this. She gave a good fight, but in the end, she’s going to have to pay big time. Good efforts, though.
Former ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Nicollette Sheridan is taking the ‘Housewives’ creator to court, reports E Online.
A Los Angeles Judge has given the go-ahead for the ex-star’s $20 million lawsuit against creator Marc Cherry to proceed to trial. Why is Sheridan taking Cherry to court, you ask? Sheridan sites ‘wrongful termination and assault’ for the lawsuit, claiming Cherry smacked her in the face while on set and then arranged to have her fired when she complained. Talk about harsh.
“It is clear to the court that this is something that needs to go to a jury,” Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Allen announced at a hearing yesterday.
Sheridan, who had not appeared at any of the other proceedings in the case, did turn up for the session.
“I’m very happy that I am being treated fairly,” she told reporters outside the courtroom.
The actress, whose character on the hit ABC series met a shocking end (literally, she was electrocuted and killed off), filed her complaint against Cherry a year ago. Sheridan claims that the creator wrongly fired her after she reported to network bosses an incident of assault by Cherry in 2008.
However, last June (after her former costars pledged to support Cherry’s version of events), the actress backed off the abuse claims, filing an amended suit. Sheridan then changed her tune, alleging that the altercation didn’t involve a whack but rather “a light tap on the side of the head.”
But now, she’s going back to her main story. Something about this seems fishy – she just can’t make up her mind about what happened. Maybe the slap across the head caused memory loss.
ABC investigated her allegations, including her assertion that Cherry “took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head,” but determined they were “of no merit.”
Now it’s up to a jury to sort it all out. The trial is set to kick off on June 8.
As if he hasn’t gotten enough heat recently, James Franco’s ghosts of geeks past come back to haunt him!
According to Perez Hilton, the cast of Freaks and Geeks got together last weekend at the Paley Centre for Media’s annual Paley Fest…all but Franco, that is. And there was definitely no love in the air for the missing actor.
When the series’ creator Paul Feig stated that “there were no drama queens on the show”, Judd Apatow responded, “…Except for Franco.” Ouch.
Fellow freak-and-geeker Busy Phillipps, who’s character Kim Kelly was Franco’s on-screen girlfriend, said Franco once “threw her to the ground, even though the script didn’t call for the action.”
“Apparently, Franco decided that his character had “maybe been abused by his father,” but he never announced this to Philipps, and then during one scene when she lightly slapped him across the face, he freaked out and shouted “Don’t you ever [expletive] touch me again!” and then he threw her to the ground, which caused her to run to her trailer in tears.” Watch out world, we might have another Chris Brown on our hands!
It’s saddening to see such a notable actor going so downhill. We loved you in Spider Man and Pineapple Express, and we even loved you in 127 Hours. But after the Oscars, we lost most of our respect for you, and now this? Way to disappoint!
The district attorney working on Lindsay Lohan’s case is claiming that Dawn Holland, a Betty Ford Center worker who claims she was attacked by the Mean Girls star, was paid off by the Lohan camp to keep quiet.
Riverside District DA David Greenberg “believes that Dawn’s change of heart was financially motivated,” according to an anonymous source. Michael Lohan himself even admits to striking up a deal with Holland.
“Dawn has had her attorney meet with me, negotiate with me, and even propose a ‘deal’ with me,” he said. There was allegedly a $25,000 deal in the works, but a new sum and new terms has reportedly been negotiated.
This incident has encouraged the DA to dig even deeper into Lohan’s still-open case to ensure that justice is fully served.
Oh Lindsay! We thought you were in the clear!
We are embarrassed to talk about “Teen Mom’s” Amber Portwood but apparently it’s news. Amber is quite regretful about how life is shaping up, and she now prefers if she have never done the MTV show in the first place.
“I wouldn’t have been in jail because nobody would have known about it,” she told Life & Style in her first post-incarceration interview. In her view the TV show made the incident public, which in turn got her arrested.
In regards to losing her baby, “I just can’t even imagine not seeing my little baby if I go back to jail.” Unfortunately Amber is obviously a little nuts so that may actually happen, and it maybe in everybody’s best interest.
What do you think? Should Amber lose custody of her daughter?
The beautiful Halle Berry is best known for dazzling audiences on the big screen, but few know about her childhood battle with an abusive father in a violent home.
In an interview with CNN, Berry opens up about her past in the hope that it will bring the issue of domestic violence into the spotlight. Berry spent the beginning of her life watching her father physically and mentally abuse her mother before blossoming into the on-screen siren we know today.
“I’ve spent my adult life dealing with the sense of low self-esteem that sort of implanted in me. Somehow I felt not worthy,” Berry, now a mother herself, explains. “Before I’m ‘Halle Berry,’ I’m little Halle…a little girl growing in this environment that damaged me…I’ve spent my adult life trying to really heal from that.”
Berry dedicates an enormous amount of her time to the Jenesse Center, a shelter in Los Angeles that takes in abused women. She also renovates low-cost apartments to provide a new home to victims and their children as they get back on their feet.

Remember when we reported that Mario was arrested for assaulting his mom? Well apparently there’s another side to the story.
Radar Online is reporting that Mario’s physical and verbal outbursts in his luxury high rise stemmed from the singer’s frustration with his live-in mother’s drug addiction. A documentary made in 2007 entitled “I Won’t Love You To Death” followed the mother and son as he tried to help her quit heroin, but it’s become clear that her journey towards clean living isn’t quite over.
Police were called to the apartment after they received complaints of a disturbance at Mario’s home. When the cops arrived on the scene, they discovered shattered mirror and glass and a broken door. Mario’s mama was found waiting in the lobby while her son fumed in their shared living space a few storeys up.
Mario’s legal team is describing the run-in as “an unfortunate incident between a loving son [and his drug-addicted mother].”
We feel bad for Mario as this is obviously a tough issue for him to face, but violence is never the answer!
Remember Mario? The let me looove you guy? According to TMZ, he was arrested Friday morning for allegedly assaulting his mom.
The singer‘s mother told police that Mario had been “throwing and damaging property” and pushed her in the apartment that they share.

The 24-year-old Mario Dewar Bennett was released on $50,000 bail after being charged with 2nd degree assault.
Apparently there was no good love and protection going on in this relationship.
The photographer that Adam Lambert allegedly roughed up in Miami on Thursday has filed a police report that accuses Lambert of misdemeanour battery, reports PerezHilton.com.
According to the report, the singer allegedly took hold of the photographer’s backpack “where the camera was placed” and “wrestled [the photographer] to the ground forcefully.”
Although the report that was filed states that the photographer didn’t receive any “bruises or lacerations,” if Lambert is prosecuted, he faces some pretty hard penalties. Worst case scenario, he faces a $1,000 fine and up to a year in jail.
Lambert responded to the claims on his Twitter account saying, “Battery? Nope. I attempted to grab a camera, no punches were thrown and no one was on the ground…. It was literally harmless. If embarrassment is a crime- thats all I’m guilty of.”
Jason Wahler from MTV’s “The Hills” was arrested again this weekend, reports TMZ.

It looks like Charlie Sheen is heading to jail and will plead no contest to misdemeanor assault and serve 30 days in jail.
TMZ reports that Sheen was given the option of probation or serve jail time – but probation was too risky.
Charlie will arrive in Aspen on Monday and enter a no contest plea to 3rd degree assault and immediately begin serving time.
Sheen will be sentenced to 30 days buy maybe able to get out after 17 on good behavior.
When it rains it pours. Another woman is coming out accusing Steven Seagal of sexual assault.
TMZ is reporting that Blair Robinson claims the action star sexually assaulted her. Interestingly Blair is the granddaughter of music legend Ray Charles. She claims to first meeting Seagal at her grandfather’s funeral in 2004.
According to Robinson, she was invited to Seagal’s home after the funeral — along with her father Ray Charles Jr. — to discuss a job opportunity with the actor.
In a lawsuit filed filed against Seagal, Robinson gives a written declaration of the events. She explains that she was hired as his assistant but quit after the first day. In the docs, Blair states, “It became clear to me that he wanted and expected sexual favors as part of my job duties.”
Actor Nicollette Sheridan, known for her role on “Desperate Housewives,” is suing the show’s creator, Marc Cherry.
According to TMZ, Sheridan is claiming that Cherry struck her across the head and face on set of the show, after she complained about him firing her. She is suing for assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination. She wants over $20 million.
In the lawsuit, Sheridan says that Cherry had created an unfriendly workplace from the beginning, “behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show.”
On September 24, 2008, Cherry allegedly physically assaulted Sheridan after she asked him about something in the script. According to the suit, “Cherry took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head.” The lawsuit then goes on to say that after the supposed incident, Cherry went to Sheridan’s trailer to “beg forgiveness.”
Charlie Sheen is being charged in Aspen with felony menacing and misdemeanor assault in connection with an incident with wife Brooke Mueller that occurred Christmas Day, reports TMZ. However, the case may never go to trial, as Sheen says he is open to a plea bargain that involves a misdemeanor. A bargain cannot be entered for at least 60 days, though.
It looks like Lloyd Banks is heading home reports MTV News. The rapper and three members of his entourage have been held in a Kitchener, Ontario jail since Saturday after allegedly beating and robbing a concert promoter for hours. The dispute stems to a disagreement Banks had with the promoter over appearance and performance fees. Bail is being set at $50,000 for Banks and $25,000 each for the other three gentlemen.
“There has been an agreement between the prosecution and defense for his release and the release for each of the individuals,” Patrick Ducharme, Banks’ legal counsel in Canada, told MTV News on Monday (January 11). “I expect for him to be released tomorrow morning. It’s just a question of posting some bail, which I’m going to do. I’m going up there tonight with the money, and they’ll be released sometime tomorrow morning.”
