We all know what KanyeWest did at the VMAs and it looks like we’ll be talking about it until the Grammys. But shouldn’t we be prepared for this by now?
Kanye has based his career on the unlikely pairing. College student becomes iced-out rapper. Rapper wears sweater vests and horn-rimmed glasses. Prep-school rapper spits rhymes about Jesus and the politics of blood diamonds. Catholic hip-hopper samples Ray Charles for a song about women horny for money. Blues piano samples replaced with electro-house synthesizers and Auto-Tune.
Et cetera.
When he stormed the MTV VMA stage on Sunday, interrupting the sugary acceptance speech of tween country princess Taylor Swift, the event was actually more scripted than offensive. It wasn’t like the time Kanye accepted an MTV Europe award he didn’t win, or refused to accept an award he did win because he felt Outkast deserved it more.
No, it was more of a half-assed display of choreographed ego, just Kanye scoping out the most unlikely character to stand next to and making sure it happened before commercial break. Sure, Kany emay have been upset Beyonce’s video for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” lost out to Swift’s beige video for “You Belong with Me”.

President Barack Obama’s controversial statement hadn’t even aired yet when he got on the phone from Air Force One Thursday night to apologize for comparing his infamously bad bowling skills to the Special Olympics.
While on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, Obama talked about how he’d gotten better at bowling and had been practicing in the Whilte House bowling alley. It was toward the end of his approximately 40-minute taping when he told Leno, “I bowled a 129.”
Leno replied with a sarcastic, “That’s very good, Mr. President.”

Christian Bale has broken his silence to offer a public apology on Friday (February 6) for his tirade on the set of Terminator Salvation. Bale lost it on the director of photography, Shane Hurlbert, for interrupting a scene a few months back. MTV News reports that he admitted to the error of his angry ways on KROQ’s “Kevin and Bean” show in Los Angeles.
Bale appeared to be extremely embarrassed by the incident, and emphasized that there was no excuse for the curse-filled rant. The original audio clip posted by TMZ.com on February 2 is circulating worldwide and has been listened to by thousands of people.
“The thing I really want to stress is that I have no confusion whatsoever,” Bale said on the Kevin and Bean show. “I was out of order beyond belief. I acted like a punk. I regret that and there is nobody that has heard that tape that is hit harder by it than me. I make no excuses for it, it is inexcusable.”
He continued to say, “I’m embarrassed by it. I ask everybody to sit down and ask themselves, have they ever had a bad day, and have they ever lost their temper and really regretted it immensely.”
The three and a half minute tape been made into a catchy dance track by music producer, RevoLucian. The popular remix is posted as “Bale Out” on YouTube.
“Feel free to make fun of me at my expense,” Bale said on air. “I deserve it completely.”
