Beyoncé arrives fashionably late at this year’s Met Gala.
Fashion’s biggest red carpet took place this week as celebrities, models, and designers descended upon the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art ball. This year’s theme was punk in honour of their new exhibit Punk: Chaos to Couture. While that was a fun idea, not that many attendees were able to pull off the punk concept. It was kind of like watching an episode of Project Runway where the episode’s challenge was too far out there for some of the designers to wrap their head around. It indeed resulted in one of the craziest Met Gala red carpets ever with so many spikes and studs paired with outrageous hair and makeup! I kind of have a feeling that next year’s theme won’t be so high concept (your move, Anna Wintour)! So let’s check out who made the cut on our best dressed list. And check back for Part 2: The Blahs and the Oh No’s!
Best Dressed
Nina Dobrev can rock on stage and the red carpet in this look, a perfect combo for the gala’s theme.
Loving the studded detail on supermodel Cara Delevingne‘s gown.
Nicole Richie‘s white hair was so jaw dropping and totally badass! The dress might not be punk but the overall look is. Read more…
Everyone loves the Oscars red carpet. It’s probably the most highly anticipated red carpet in the world and no other red carpet can compare! But it’s not the only velvet carpet A-list celebrities will be walking down on that night. While most of us viewers head to bed once The Oscars ceremony ends – because let’s face it the ceremony always ends late – celebrities are making hurried wardrobe changes and hitting the after-party scene in new outfits. After-party red carpets are a chance for the winners to show off their new prizes and a chance for the losers to still win best dressed of the night. So let’s see who had the best wardrobe change as these celebs face off against themselves!
Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence, the Best Actress winner for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, infamously tripped on her way to accept her award in the pale pink Dior Haute Couture gown but switched it up for a more slinky and silver Calvin Klein dress for the Vanity Fair after-party. This time she got to match her metallic gown with the night’s most coveted accessory, the Oscar statuette.
Anne Hathaway
The Best Supporting Actress winner turned heads on the red carpet in this pale pink Prada gown, but perhaps for the wrong reasons as the darts in the dress emphasized her nipples. Plus, this was a last minute dress choice which resulted in a public apology from the actress to Valentino, who was to be her original choice of designer. She had a chance to redeem herself in a different column dress for the Vanity Fair after-party, this time a blue number from Saint Laurent.

Last night was like watching the Tony Awards as the 2013 Oscars were jam packed with performances ranging from Seth Mcfarlane all the way to Shirley Bassey. The best part of last nights festivities were no doubt the performances. Um, hello? THE Barbra Streisand performing? Yes, please.
My personal favourite performances was Les Mis for the sole reason that experienced and talented broadway actors like Aaron Tveit got to perform on the Oscar stage for the very first time — they now have it made. Also, I can watch Hugh Jackman perform any day, all day. He can really do ANYTHING. He and Anne Hathaway look and sound so great together on screen and on stage (think back to when she performed with him when he was hosting a few years ago).
For your viewing pleasure, may we present all the night’s performances in one place!
We Saw Your Boobs (Seth Mcfarlane)
I wonder if this song was offensive or not…I have yet to decide. I just enjoyed Jennifer Lawrence being really happy we haven’t seen her boobs.

BEST: Anne Hathaway’s speech

So touching. People say it was too long, but I thought it was humbling and heartwarming. We all knew she would win, she was so brilliant in Les Mis.
WORST: Twitter handle for Anna Hathaway’s Nipple
People, the seam on the side of the dress created an allusion that Anne was bearing her nipples. Leave her alone okay? Although…she just won an Oscar, I’m not sure she cares all that much about what you have to say about her dress last night.
BEST: Envelopes are hard to open

Sandra Bullock’s facial reactions for best supporting actress please? Kind of looks like someone we know (*cough* Photoshopped Beyonce *cough*)
WORST: Wizards at the Oscars

The internet can sometimes be a scary place. Animals act like humans, people eat things that they really shouldn’t be eaten and faces get swapped. Sometimes, the celebrities do look better as their romantic love interests. Other times, the result can be quite frightening.
Here are just some of the unsettling face swaps to float around the internet.

The Oscars are this weekend and we’re placing our bets on Anne Hathaway to win Best Supporting Actress. Her rendition of “I Dream A Dream” in Les Misérables had us crying like little babies in the theatre. Except unlike babies who are adorable even when they’re crying (minus the wailing. That’s never fun), it was a full blown ugly cry session (Think Lauren Conrad with the single mascara tear running down her face).
This video of YouTuber Ijameswalters singing “I Dream A Dream” has us crying for other reasons. He had the brilliant idea to sing the iconic song as Gollum from Lord of the Rings. His facial impressions are pretty priceless. If the studios ever re-make the series (please don’t) and Andy Serkis, the actor who plays Gollum via CGI technology, isn’t available, we hope that Ijameswaters get the role.

When Anne Hathaway won her Golden Globe for her role of Fantine in Les Miserables, she said “anyone can bounce back.” She explains how she went from being a Disney princess to where she is now, and reminded us of that time when Sally Field played a flying nun. After we finished bowing down to the royalty that is Anne Hathaway, ANDPOP started to look at some of this years Oscar nominee’s and the embarrassing movies they did way back when. Like Hathaway said, you can bounce back from anything, and in some actors cases we see how true that statement really is.
I just hope Les Miserables just wins all of the awards, because in my opinion, it was the movie of the year. The actors nominated this year are a great bunch. From Anne Hathaway to Sally Field and from Hugh Jackman to Daniel Day Lewis, it is most definitely a talented bunch. Personally, I can’t wait. I can’t even guess who will win because this year was a great year for films and actor performances. However, why wasn’t Leonardo DiCaprio nominated for Django? The man is a genius actor who has done genius films, the Academy clearly has something against the poor guy. Thats okay Leo. You can cry on my shoulder.

ANDPOP Is very excited to watch the Oscars. After all, Barbara Streisand and the cast of Les Miserables are both performing. We have the date saved on our calendar, do you?
See the nominees worthy and non oscar-worthy performances below
1) Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway has been a Disney princess in The Princess Diaries, drug addict in Rachel Getting Married and of course, Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. Most recently, she was Fantine in Les Miserables. With every movie she does, she outdoes her last performance. She already won the Globe, and I have my fingers crossed for her to win the Oscar. If she loses, I can’t be held accountable for my actions. Anna Hathaway has proven you can bounce back from anything. She went from Mia Thermopolis, Princess of Genovia with frizzy and curly hair, to Fantine, a character that she had to cut her hair and diet intensely for. Anne Hathaway is truly royalty.
P.S. Being a disney princess is NOT something to necessarily “bounce back from,” when you’re starring beside Julie Andrews. I would take that gig ANYDAY.

2) Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence got her break in X-Men: First Class and worldwide attention for her role as Katniss. Lawrence has only had great roles, right? Wrong. While Jennifer Lawrence might be nominated for her spectacular performance in Silver Linings Playbook (and she was previously nominated for Winter’s Bone), she hasn’t always been in movies that got such critical acclaim. Lawrence was in a horror film called House At The End Of The Street. We still love her. It’s not like she was in Jennifer’s Body.

When a lot of people see Zach Galifianakis’ show Between Two Ferns for the first time, they’re not sure if he’s legit being rude to the celebs or if the whole thing is a farce. Sadly, it’s a parody but a wicked one at that. The show was on hiatus for a while but it’s finally back with an Oscar edition, loaded with the most well-respected nominees. On the list: Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway and Naomi Watts to name a few. Let the awkwardness begin.
Anne Hathaway’s Oscar campaigning for her role in Les Miserables may be getting on some people’s nerves having won a string of awards including the SAG, a Critic’s Choice Award and a Golden Globe. Performing awkward and super chipper awards’ speeches, it has become a little too obvious that Hathaway wants the Oscar REALLY, REALLY BADLY.
While I can’t deny how brilliant she was in Fantine (I mean she cut her hair and sang live in one take, bitches!!), this parody really knocks the ball out of the park. Reminding the Academy one last time why she MUST win at the 85th Academy Awards, I present to you…The Anne Hathaway “For Your Consideration” video.
I can only think of a handful of American actors (Elijah Wood, Gwyneth Paltrow and Renée Zellweger, to name a few) who can do successfully do an English accent. But as far as the majority goes, the results are often quite disastrous.
I’ve never understood why directors don’t choose to hire British actors to play BRITISH CHARACTERS. Maybe they think the name of the actor will help boost sales. But honestly, I just think that’s just too big a risk to take.
(And as for Nicolas Cage’s accent, I’m just going to go out and say that he was acting like himself.)
While we’re used to upbeat, cheery movies around the Christmas season, this year we’re being treated to two films that are on the bleaker side: Les Misérables and Django Unchained.
Two stars of those movies, Anne Hathaway (Les Mis) and Samuel L. Jackson (Django) got a little competitive over just which one was more sad. Sh*t gets real when the two actors have a sad-off.
While they indulge in typical holiday activities, like making a gingerbread house and decorating the tree, they argue over poverty, death and slavery.
There’s no winner in this competition because they ultimately come to the conclusion that their silly competition is wrong and doesn’t capture the Christmas spirit. “Christmas is about bringing people together,” says Jackson, “like prostitution does.”
“Nothing says Christmas like slaves and whores,” Hathaway adds thoughtfully.
The Funny or Die sketch really reminds you of the true meaning of the holidays.
HIT: Spice Girls Musical Opens in London

Viva Forever!, the musical based on the Spice Girls’ greatest hits, opened in London on Tuesday night. I personally loved every little campy bit of 1998’s Spice World even though it was a bomb with critics. With that being said, I can’t help but still have high hopes for the musical even though it a) hasn’t been getting the greatest reviews and b) doesn’t star Sporty, Posh, Scary, Ginger and Baby. “Viva forever…”
MISS: Justin Bieber Murder Plot Included Castration

According to multiple reports, two men were arrested on the suspicion of plotting to murder Justin Bieber. The two men were allegedly hired by a convicted murderer and rapist, 45-year-old Dean Martin, who wanted Bieber and his bodyguard strangled with a paisley tie and castrated. Martin is apparently incredibly infatuated with the pop star that he has a tattoo on his leg and has tried to contact him several times. After failing to hear back, Martin hired the two men but revealed the plot to the police before anything bad could happen. Talk about crazy! Probably not a bad idea to hire more bodyguards, right Biebs?
HIT: Jennifer Lawrence Named Most Desirable Woman of 2012

Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence tops this year’s AskMen.com’s “Top 99 Most Desirable Women” list, and while I hate that this list is on a website called Ask Men, I have to agree with them. Lawrence tops my own Girl Crush list. She’s funny, incredibly talented (she’s on her way to pick up another Oscar nod with Silver Linings Playbook) and just seems like so much fun in interviews.

Three words: short, blonde and shaved. These were the hair trends this year rocking the celeb world. It’s kind of hard to tell who inspired who this year with all these similar and daring hair cuts. However, what I love about these celebrity do’s is that they can sometimes have meaning and inspiration behind them.
Here are 10 awesome celebrity hair makeovers:
1. Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is known for her outrageous makeovers, but this one has quite a bit of meaning behind it. The singer shaved a portion of her head in memory of Terry Richardson’s mom, Annie Lomax. Gaga tweeted a photo of her new hair with a special message to her friend.
2. CeCe Frey
CeCe Frey shocked “X-Factor” viewers when she debuted her new platinum blonde look. CeCe isn’t new to daring looks as she often paints leopard print spots on her face. Fierce!
3. Anne Hathaway
Bless Anne Hathaway’s soul. I fell in love with Anne Hathaway this summer because she was a total babe in The Dark Knight Rises. When I saw her with her pixie cut, courtesy of her role in the upcoming film Les Miserables, my heart was sent into flutters. She really can rock anything.
4. Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus sent the twitterverse into a buzz of love-hate feuding with her new do. Despite what anyone says, I think it’s awesome that Miley’s new haircut was able to give her a lot of confidence.
5. Marina and the Diamonds
Marina and the Diamonds completely transformed her entire wardrobe for her new album, Electra Heart. In her video for “Fear and Loathing,” Marina is seen chopping off her thick, black hair and opting for a cute bob. The move was daring, but her transformation totally goes with the theme of her album.
In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Taylor Swift donates money for a school for the deaf after a nasty joke, and Rihanna and Chris Brown are rumoured to have made out at a New York night club.
Hit: Taylor Swift donates money and concert tickets to a school for the deaf after 4Chan joke
The international shit disturbers on Reddit and 4chan thought it would be funny to troll a Facebook contest where Taylor Swift would perform for the school with the most likes. The trolls mean spiritedly decided to cast their votes for Boston’s Horace Mann School for the Deaf. Unfortunately for the school, they were disqualified because of the corrupt votes. It’s always mean spirited when the hopes of innocent kids are involved but thankfully, TSwift naturally rose to the occasion. She donated $10,000 to the school and free tickets to her next local show because of the joke. A number of companies have matched her donation resulting in a total donation amount of $50,000 for the school. Who’s the better WOMAN, now, trolls?
MISS: Chris Brown and Rihanna apparently caught making out

Rumours are swirling that Chris Brown and Rihanna were caught making out while partying in a New York club. It’s an obvious fail considering dirtbag Brown is involved. We all know that Rihanna could do so much better. Maybe Jay-Z can set her up with a nice, smart man to make her happy.
HIT: Anne Hathaway gets married

Princess Mi-, I mean actor Anne Hathaway had her own fairy tale wedding this past weekend. She looked amazing in a dreamy custom Valentino wedding dress with her short hair (courtesy of Les Mis filming) adorned with a beautiful hairpiece. Even in blurry paparazzi shots, the ceremony itself looked romantic as the setting sun bathed the beautiful couple in warm lighting as they exchanged vows along the California coast. Congratulations Hathaway, for topping Blake Lively’s plantation wedding!

Showing her sillier side in a ridiculous fur vest, shiny gold shirt and blond wig, Anne Hathaway stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night and joined him on stage in the sketch “Let Us Play With Your Look”.
While Hathaway and Fallon sang the same haunting and creepy lines over and over again, the actress went on to douse an audience member all over his face and hair with water.
Oh Anne. You are too awesome. While I don’t really know what’s happening, it was hilarious to see you and Jimmy trip and fall.

The third trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Risesproves the movie will be just as epic as we hoped. The movie follows Batman eight years after he took the fall for Two Face’s crimes. A new terrorist leader, Bane overwhelms Gotham City.
The star-studded cast includes Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, and Tom Hardy and will be out on July 20. Oh and of course, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be the mysterious cop John Blake (swoon).
Other reasons why the clip is badass? It starts off with Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle predicting: ”There’s a storm coming.” This is followed by a series of explosions, including cars, bridges, buildings and trucks. Plus, we get a clip of Batman’s flying vehicle, dubbed The Bat.

It seems like the on-screen princess Anne Hathaway may soon get her fairytale wedding.
People Magazine has confirmed the 28-year-old Oscar nominated actress is engaged to boyfriend of over 3 years, Adam Shulman.
After a very public breakup with convicted felon Raffaello Follieri, who pled guilty to money laundering and wife fraud back in 2008, Anne’s found love again with the 30-year-old actor and jewelry designer.
“I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool!” Anne tells People Magazine about meeting her fiance.
Anne, who claims to be a romantic at heart, must be ecstatic to not only star in next year’s biggest Blockbuster, “The Dark Knight Rises” but to also star in next year’s cutest wedding ceremony, too.
If the two can stay happy and in love for three years (which is like 30 years in Hollywood time) they can certainly stay married for many years ahead. Here’s hoping they sign a pre-nup and everything works out.

It looks like Christian Bale is retiring his black cape for good.
“I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I’m taking that cowl off,” Bale told the Phillipine Daily Inquirer. “I believe that the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it’s all done. Everything’s finished. It’s me and Chris – that will be the end of that Batman era.”
“We always maintained from the beginning that if you wanted to break it down, there are three personas – Batman is sincere, the private Bruce Wayne is sincere. The public version of Bruce Wayne, the playboy, is a completely fabricated performance.”
Out of all his coworkers, Bale admitted that he was most impressed with Anne Hathaway’s performance and work.
“I had plenty of scenes with Anne,” Bale said. “And I was there when we did the screen test for her. The thing that I said to Chris [Nolan] that day was that there were many very accomplished actresses who had read for the role. I’m terrible at auditions, so I’m very impressed when somebody really seems to acquire an ownership of a character without having worked on it or prepared for some amount of time.”
“When Chris watched the screen test, he agreed that Anne did a wonderful job. In many ways, she has the hardest job. There are a number of people who feel that the Catwoman role has been defined previously. So, I always saw Anne’s role as being the toughest job of any of us. In my case, I’ve stopped referencing outside sources. I now reference Chris’ own world of Batman as a guide to what I will continue doing.”

Anne Hathaway is Selina Kyle/Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises.”
However, his other castmates did not go unnamed by Bale, calling Tom Hardy “a phenomenal actor,” and Joseph Gordon-Levitt a ”very intriguing guy…somebody who truly seems to love acting.”

Tom Hardy plays Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Levitt plays John Blake in “The Dark Knight Rises.”
The movie is set to be released on July 20, 2012.
Anne Hathaway still wants to be on Glee. She spoke about it to PopSugar.
“I’m planning on it,” Hathaway said about her guest role as Kurt’s aunt on ‘Glee.’ “I don’t know if they’re planning on it.”
Hathaway saw Ryan Murphy at the Golden Globes, where they had a small conversation about having her on the show.
“Ryan Murphy goes, ‘Anne Hathaway! Come on ‘Glee.’ And I said, ‘Yes!’ and he said ‘Fab, I’ll call you,’” Hathaway said.
After the Globes, Hathaway said Murphy was telling reporters it was a done deal.
“He went back to the press room and said, ‘Anne Hathaway is going to be on the show,’ and that became like a news event,” she said.
“She created her own character, and we ran into her, and I said ‘Really?’ and she said ‘Yes!’ so we’re going to do that,” Murphy told E! Online. “We love her.”
This happened in January. So what’s taking so long?
“And I never heard from him again [laughs]. Ryan Murphy, I’m calling you out: I want to be on ‘Glee.’ I’ve got my songs picked out,” Hathaway said.
Why do you think Ryan Murphy is stalling?
