Prosecutors have claimed the late Anna Nicole Smith may have had a sexual relationship with Dr. Khristine Eroshevich, reports Perez Hilton. Eroshevich, Howard K. Stern and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor are all currently on trial for allegations that they illegally provided prescription drugs to the reality TV star who died in February 2007.

While lawyers are suggesting the relationship served as Eroshevich’s motivation for providing the medication to Smith, the judge said the claim was irrelevant and he will not allow any further discussion of the topic. He said he did not want the trial to turn into a “circus sideshow.”

Howard K. Stern was arrested on Thursday and charged with multiple felonies – including conspiracy to furnish drugs – in the overdose death of Anna Nicole Smith.  According to perezhilton.com, Stern’s lawyer, Krista Bath, claims that Howie (the former Playmate’s longtime companion) is a victim of lies and not a felon.  

Her public statement was a lengthy declaration of Howie’s innocence: 

“For over two years, I have represented Howard K. Stern in connection with civil litigation arising out his relationship with Anna Nicole Smith and false accusations published about him, including representing Mr. Stern in the body custody proceedings. In the course of that litigation, I have spent hundreds of hours reviewing depositions under oath or interviews of almost every principal witness claiming to possess first hand knowledge of Mr. Stern’s relationship with Anna Nicole [Smith]. His accusers have been shown to have no credibility due to their conflicting stories, to have a bias based on their own personal agendas or to have no factual basis to support their accusations. Given the knowledge obtained from these various cases, I am confident that the criminal charges brought against Mr. Stern last evening by the State of California will likewise be shown to have no factual basis and that Mr. Stern will ultimately be exonerated with respect to his conduct.”

An opera based on the tumultuous life of Anna Nicole Smith will hit the stage in 2011.

Britain’s Royal Opera has recruited composer Mark-Anthony Turnage and librettist Richard Thomas, who co-created “Jerry Springer: The Opera,” to work on the project.

“In broad outline, it will tell the story of her life, the people who influenced her, her progress,” Elaine Padmore, the company’s director of opera, told the Guardian newspaper.

“It’s not just a documentary about her, but a parable about celebrity and what it does to people. It can be moving, it can be funny and it tells universal truths about human frailty.”

The opera will be directed by Richard Jones and staged in London’s Covent Garden.

Smith, a former Playmate of the Year, married 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994, when she was 26. Marshall’s death was followed by a much-publicized legal battle between Smith and his son over his estimated $500 million fortune.

Smith died of a drug overdose in 2007 at the age of 39.

Ashton Kutcher’s new paparazzi prank show “Pop Fiction” sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, he may have stolen the idea – from Anna Nicole Smith.

TMZ.com has obtained the treatment for a show called “Celebrities Strike Back” that Smith registered with the Writer’s Guild in 2004. It reads, “…what happens if Anna Nicole Smith and other celebrities turn the tables and capitalize off of the overzealous media? What if the next big supposed scandal is not a scandal at all? What if everything is staged, but the media (and the public) don’t know it?… Anna Nicole and other celebrity guests take aim at the media and push all the limits.”

The premise is essentially identical to Kutcher’s “Pop Fiction,” which premiered on E! on Sunday night.

Smith and companion Howard K. Stern approached two execs from the same network, Jeff Shore and Jay James, in 2004 and pitched their version.

According to TMZ, Stern is considering a lawsuit. He is reportedly especially mad that the executives at E! had recently told him the idea just wouldn’t work.

ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s daughter DANNIELYNN remembers her mother by watching home videos of the late glamour girl.

The tot – who celebrates her first birthday next month (07Sept07) – is regularly shown videos and photographs of the model by her father Larry Birkhead.

Birkhead’s sister Judy insists Larry believes it is important to keep Smith’s memory alive.

She tells UsMagazine.com,” Larry says that it’s important Dannielynn knows about her mom. He’s always telling Dannielynn how much he loved Anna and how great she was.

“He’ll point at pictures and show Dannielynn videos of her too.”

Smith also set aside keepsakes for her daughter – including letters she had written for her – which Birkhead is saving for when the baby grows up,
according to Smith’s longtime pal Jane Rose-Zupetz .

Reformed wild child WILLA FORD will play ANNA NICOLE SMITH in a new indie movie about the tragic model’s life.

The 26-year-old former PUSSYCAT DOLLS revue star will play Smith from the age of 17 to her death in February, aged 39 in the new project, titled ANNA NICOLE.

Hawaiian moviemaker KEONI WAXMAN will direct the film, which will focus on Smith’s career as a Playboy centrefold, top model, her marriage to oil tycoon J. HOWARD MARSHALL, the birth of her daughter DANNIELYNN and the death of her son DANIEL.

Full casting details are yet to be announced, but it has been reported that veteran actor RICHARD HERD will play late billionaire Marshall in the film.

ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s longtime companion HOWARD K. STERN insists the tragic model would still be alive today if she hadn’t refused medical help before her death.

In a statement released late on Monday, Stern revealed he and other friends and aides had urged Smith to check into a Florida hospital after her temperature spiked, but, fearing a “media frenzy”, she insisted on sleeping off her fever.

In announcing the cause of death as an accidental drug overdose earlier on Monday, medical examiner DR JOSHUA PERPER revealed the model should have already have been in hospital at the time of her death.

Perper said Smith had been suffering from stomach flu, a 105 degree fever and an infection from repeated drug injections.

In a statement, released by Stern’s lawyers, Smith’s companion reveals his girlfriend refused emergency care in the days before her death because “she did not want the media frenzy that follows her.”

He claims both he and Smith’s physician begged her to seek proper medical help, but “Anna called the shots in Anna’s life and everyone close to her knows that.”

Tragic model ANNA NICOLE SMITH died of an accidental drug overdose, according to Florida police.

The 39-year-old was found dead in her suite at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on February 8 – five months after the death of her 20-year-old son DANIEL in the Bahamas.

Seminole Tribe Police Chief CHARLIE TIGER and Broward County, Florida Chief Medical Examiner DR JOSHUA PERPER announced results of the model’s autopsy in Dania, Florida at 10am local time yesterday morning.

Tiger said there was nothing to indicate foul play in her death and the case was now closed.

Perper said there was “no evidence of disease” in Smith’s body, but she had been feeling ill and had a high temperature prior to her collapse.

He added he had searched numerous medical records and studied numerous bottles of medication in her possession, including Methadone, anti-anxiety and anti-depression medication.

An autopsy showed Smith had overdosed on sleeping medication Chloral hydrate and a minimum of eight prescription drugs, including Valium.

An investigation into Daniel’s death is scheduled to begin in the Bahamas today.

Meanwhile, Smith’s partner HOWARD K. STERN, ex-boyfriend LARRY BIRKHEAD and ZSA ZSA GABOR’s husband PRINCE FREDERIC VON ANHALT are submitting DNA tests to determine which man is the father of the model’s six-month-old baby DANNIELYNN.

Photographer LARRY BIRKHEAD and his attorney have parted company as the latest battle in the snapper’s paternity battle over ANNA NICOLE SMITH’ child gets underway in the Bahamas.

Lawyer DEBRA OPRI has issued a statement yesterday morning, confirming the split, saying, “Larry Birkhead and I have terminated our attorney-client relationship effective immediately.”

She reveals she felt she had to part company with her former client because she didn’t agree with Birkhead’s apparent friendship with his paternity battle rival HOWARD K. STERN.

Opri tells US news show EXTRA, “I just had enough. I can’t represent a client who has a middle man by the name of Howard K. Stern. I feel very comfortable in my decision, and I wish Larry the best. But I am worried about him… I couldn’t continue with the way things were going.”

Reports have suggested Birkhead and Stern are close to coming to a financial settlement about the future of the baby both claim is theirs.

As WENN went to press Birkhead had not retained new counsel in America.

The photographer has been demanding a DNA test on the baby since late last year after insisting he’s the Dannielynn’s biological father. Stern, Anna Nicole’s longtime companion and lawyer, maintains he’s the father, as stated on the baby’s birth certificate.

Bahamian and Florida police met in the Sunshine State this week to discuss ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s death – but insist it is not currently a homicide investigation.

The former Playboy model was found dead in her suite at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on February 8.

The Broward County State Attorney’s spokesman RON ISHOY says, “We are continuing to help law enforcement agencies and the medical examiner as they try and figure out the nature of this death. This is not a homicide investigation.”

Broward County’s chief medical examiner DR. JOSHUA PERPER was scheduled to announce Smith’s cause of death last week, but delayed revealing his findings after new evidence was given to him by the Seminole tribal police.

Perper announced on Wednesday that he wasn’t aware of any criminal probe into the model’s passing, but he hoped to release his findings next week.

Smith was buried next to her son DANIEL – who died in September – in the Bahamas on March 2.

ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s funeral in the Bahamas has taken place, despite last minute attempts by her mother to stop the service.

VIRGIE ARTHUR filed a petition in an attempt to stall the funeral, but it was rejected this morning by a Bahamian court. Smith’s ex-husband BILLY SMITH yesterday applied to exhume the remains of their son DANIEL – and move them from the Bahamas to his native Texas.

Despite the court furore, hundreds of Bahamians turned out to watch Anna Nicole Smith’s coffin arrive on a private jet and make its way to the Mount Horeb Baptist Church in Nassau where it was carried along a red carpet.

Around 300 guests attended a private service at the church.

Later today, Smith will be taken to Lakeview Memorial Park cemetery where she will be buried next to her son Daniel, in a ceremony watched by around 30 close friends and family members.

The attorney appointed for ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s baby daughter has been awarded the late model’s remains with a Florida court’s recommendation to bury her next to her son DANIEL in The Bahamas.

Baby DANNIELYNN’s legally-appointed guardian, RICHARD MILLSTEIN, will now make a final decision as to where Smith will be buried after consulting with the late celebrity’s mother, VIRGIE ARTHUR, her companion HOWARD K. STERN and ex-boyfriend LARRY BIRKHEAD.

In an emotionally-charged Florida courtroom, Circuit Judge LARRY SEIDLIN broke down as he signed the order to release Anna Nicole’s remains, sobbing, “She had to live all of her years under this kind of exposure. I just get a week and a half of it and it’s ready to flatten me down.”

In awarding Millstein the remains, tearful Seidlin added, “This is not a happy moment. I want her buried with her son in The Bahamas. I want them to be together. She’s gonna be with her son.”

Seidlin’s decision was somewhat of a surprise – many expected the judge to award the remains to Smith’s mother, who wanted to bury her daughter in her native Texas, or Stern, who both sobbed as the ruling was read out.

Stern fought to bury Smith’s remains in The Bahamas but his custody bid for the corpse was denied.

Meanwhile, as the fight continues over the paternity of baby Dannielynn, Seidlin washed his hands of the battle, concluding, “I hope to God that you guys give the kid the right shot.”

As Arthur, Stern, Birkhead and their lawyers left the courthouse, they showed they were united at last in their efforts to lay Smith to rest.

Stern told waiting reporters, “I am very grateful that Anna Nicole’s wishes are going to be carried out.”

Meanwhile, Birkhead, who is fighting Stern for paternity of Anna Nicole’s baby, added, “I think we all understand that we loved Anna and it’s in her best interests to come together and get this thing worked out and lay her to rest.”

ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s estranged mother believes drugs were to blame for her daughter’s tragic death on Thursday afternoon in Hollywood, Florida.

The 39-year-old was found unconscious in her hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and she was later declared dead after being rushed to nearby Memorial Regional Hospital.

A medical examiner began an autopsy on her body yesterday in a bid to discover the cause of her sudden demise but the former Playboy playmate’s mother is convinced drugs played a significant part.

VERGIE ARTHUR draws parallels with her grandson DANIEL’s death last year – which one medical practitioner linked to a combination of methadone and two anti-depressants.

She says, “I think she had too many drugs, just like Danny. I tried to warn her about drugs and the people she hung around with. She didn’t listen. She was too drugged up.”

Detectives are reviewing the hotel surveillance footage from the hours leading up to Smith’s death and interviewing those connected to the tragic events.

However, Deputy Police Chief MICHAEL BROWNE maintains, “Nothing about this death seems suspicious. We’re not treating it that way.”

Anna Nicole Smith has died after she was found unconscious in her Florida hotel room earlier today.

“I don’t have the cause right now,” Smith’s attorney, Ronald Rale, told MSNBC. “There obviously will be an autopsy. Anna did have some flu symptoms the last couple of days. I think she had a fever. This is just shocking.”

Smith died at about 3:45 p.m. ET. She was 39 years old.

Smith collapsed at around 1:30 p.m. ET today at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Her nurse who was with her called 911 at 1:38 p.m. At 1:45 p.m., her bodyguard administered CPR, according to police.

Police had to shut down the streets to expedite her transport, according to reports.

Smith was unresponsive and emergency personnel had to put a tube down her throat.

Reports of her death began surfacing only about an hour after the initial reports.

Smith, the former actress, model and reality star, has been involved in a paternity suit regarding her five-month-old daughter Danielynn. Her 20-year-old son Daniel died just a three days after the birth of her daughter.

A paternity test has been ordered for the daughter of Anna Nicole Smith.

“Los Angeles Superior Court has ruled today that Anna Nicole Smith and 3-month-old baby daughter Dannielynn are ordered to submit to paternity testing,” read a statement from Luck Media & Marketing Inc, reports Yahoo! News.

Smith’s ex-boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, has insisted he is the real father of the infant, not Smith’s current partner, lawyer Howard K. Stern.

“I believe there is not an issue about Anna’s willingness or unwillingness to submit to testing,” Smith’s attorney, Ron Rale. “Any kind of allegation that she’s blatantly refusing DNA tests is off the mark and not an accurate depiction of the legal process at this time.”

Birkhead, a Los Angeles photographer, filed a lawsuit in October claiming paternity of Dannielynn, who was born in September in the Bahamas.

Anna Nicole has remained in the Bahamas since the birth of her daughter, seeking solitude after her son Daniel suddenly died.

Anna Nicole Smith is back in the hospital.

Her lawyer says that Smith is in the Doctors Hospital in Nassau – the same place where she gave birth to her newest daughter and her 20-year-old son died under mysterious circumstances – where she is being treated for pneumonia, the Associated Press reports.

“She has a slight case of pneumonia. We’ve had a sudden change of weather here due to a cold snap,” her lawyer, Wayne Munroe told AP, adding she was only hospitalized as a precaution since she has recently given birth.

“I didn’t gather it was anything serious,” he said.
