Hollywood’s biggest award show is over for another year. Done. Kaput. No more bets on who will win and who will lose (although if I actually gambled on who would take home an Oscar, I would be a bit richer today). And while last night’s winners polish their statues and the losers polish off another bottle of Skinny Wine, I am giving kudos to one of the best Academy Awards show in years.
Here’s why last night Oscars rocked:
The host:
Hugh Jackman. He’s sexy, charming and helped made the usual dull Oscars entertaining. His musical montage of the year’s celebrated films –along this poorly made props (thank you recession)– and duet with Anne Hathaway rocked. He made the celebrities laugh—which makes him an automatic hit. He better be back next year.
The guests:
Brangelina–While most people were waiting for Angie and Brad to make their way down the red carpet—I couldn’t care less. Although both extremely talented and stunning—they are overrated. Besides, is it me or does Angelina have a permanent cold look to her? Girl needs to smile more often. Take some cues from Aniston. Yeah, I said it. READ MORE »
Although the duo may no longer be going out, it doesn’t mean that John Mayer still doesn’t have kind words for his recent ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston.
According to E! News, the singer had the following to say about the former “Friends” star in an interview with Us Weekly.
“If you guys are going to run stuff and run every lie under the sun, have somebody stand up for somebody,”” the singer said. “Have me as a man who ended a relationship stand here and write some truth. Have me stand up for somebody and write that Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I’ve ever met…”
“She’s one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met in my life and I’m going through something that’s a very personal thing and you have to give that up. You have to give everything up because you can’t have it all and it sucks.
“I’m sorry that the story’s not interesting,” Mayer added. “But it’s about time that somebody stands up for that girl and I think she’s great.”
Former FRIENDS star JENNIFER ANISTON will produce a big screen period musical about singing prisoners.
The actress and her producing partner Kristin Hahn will work on a movie adaptation of Goree Girls with film studio DreamWorks, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The film is based on a true story about a group of eight women serving time in Texas’ Goree Prison during the 1940s who formed one of the first all-female country and western acts in the country.

Former FRIENDS star JENNIFER ANISTON is to be celebrated for her same sex kisses.
The actress is slated to receive the Vanguard Award at this year’s Los Angeles GLAAD Media Awards on April 14. The awards pay tribute to stars who help promote gay rights.
In recapping her onscreen ‘gay’ moments, celebrity blogger MARC MALKIN lists her girl-on-girl kiss with WINONA RYDER in an episode of Friends and her recent lesbian smooch with pal COURTENEY COX on TV show DIRT.
Aniston also appeared in lesbian rocker MELISSA ETHERIDGE’s I WANT TO BE IN LOVE video and was the first guest on gay comedienne ELLEN DeGENERES’ chat show.

JENNIFER ANISTON and former FRIENDS co-star COURTENEY COX were so convinced the media was going to exaggerate a lesbian kiss they share on the TV show DIRT, they placed bets on how long it would take for the first story to appear.
Aniston, 38, made a guest appearance on Cox’s new show as a rival magazine editor who is a lesbian and the two share a goodbye kiss.
She says they had a good laugh when the small kiss became a big deal in the media explaining, “I think I won a bet. I told Courteney, ‘How many days will it take to come out? ‘Lesbian kiss! Lip-lock!’
“It was a record: about a week. It was touted as a passionate lip-lock. It’s a good-bye kiss!
“I don’t honestly think people want to see RACHEL and MONICA have at it!”

JENNIFER ANISTON lives in fear of the fashion police in case they discover she has no idea how to dress.
The former FRIENDS star, who regularly tops beauty and fashion polls, is far from confident in her wardrobe choices.
She says, “I’m completely at a loss as to what is cool!
“I don’t pay too much attention to the latest must-buys. I don’t tend to wear trendy stuff or over-accessorise.
“I almost resent the whole fashion thing – it’s a pain in the ass! I don’t like feeling that every time I walk out of the house I’m going to be ridiculed or put on trial, so often I just wear flip-flops and jeans.”

JENNIFER ANISTON and her good friend COURTENEY COX got into a catfight and shared a kiss while filming an episode of Cox’s new TV series DIRT last week.
Aniston wrapped up her two-day stint on the show last Friday, where she plays gossip magazine editor TINA HARROD.
Cox tells American publication Us Weekly, “It’s great. (She plays) an editor that is my character’s biggest rival. We just spar and have a great time.”
Co-star JEFFREY NORDLING adds, “They were throwing stuff at each other and that was really fun to watch. They know what they are doing. It was fun watching two real pros go at it.”
Aniston plays a lesbian in the March 27 episode and in one scene gives Cox’s character a “goodbye peck.”
A source close to the show insists the kiss isn’t nearly as steamy as media reports have suggested, adding, “But, yes, it’s on the lips.”

Best friends COURTENEY COX and JENNIFER ANISTON will share an on-screen kiss in new US drama series DIRT.
Earlier this month Cox confirmed her former FRIENDS costar would appear as a magazine editor in an upcoming episode, and it seems the pair will be closer than ever.
Website TVGuide.com reports, “Aniston’s character is a lesbian. What’s more, she won’t just mouth off to Cox’s tightly wound counterpart, she’s going to share a lip lock with her.”
Cox plays ruthless tabloid boss LUCY SPILLER in the hit show, which debuted on US cable at the beginning of the month. Aniston will play Spiller’s rival TINA HARROD on the show’s season finale.

JENNIFER ANISTON’s publicist has slammed new reports his client has had plastic surgery on her nose, after the actress was spotted leaving the offices of a top cosmetic clinic.
STEPHEN HUVANE tells WENN that various publications, which are set to run with speculation the former FRIENDS star has had a new nose-job, are spouting “nonsense.”
The Hollywood publicist insists writers are making too much of Aniston’s visit to the Beverly Hills office of plastic surgeon DR RAJ KANODIA on Saturday.
Life & Style reports in its upcoming issue that Aniston spent over four hours at the surgery, and covered her nose with her hands when she realized photographers were snapping her when she came out.
A source tells the magazine, “I was told she had a full rhinoplasty.”
But an angry Huvane says, “For the most part, this story is complete rubbish.
“Jennifer did have a septum corrected that was incorrectly done over 12 years ago. The rest is just nonsense that tabloids like to create.”

JENNIFER ANISTON is set to dig the DIRT with best pal COURTENEY COX after agreeing to play a bitchy magazine boss in an upcoming episode of the hit new US drama.
Aniston will play TINA HARROD, a rival of her former FRIENDS castmate’s character, LUCY SPILLER, on the season finale of the show in March.
The episode will mark the first time the actresses have acted together on since the end of Friends.
Cox, who is also a producer of the gritty new show, revealed she was searching for a part for Aniston in a recent interview.
She said, “We talk about it all the time – what kind of character she should play? Should she play herself or should we write some great thing for her?”
