Jamie Foxx was spotted covered in blue make up and decked out in a black hoodie and jeans as he arrived on the New York City set of The Amazing Spiderman 2 on Monday. Foxx is slated to play the film’s villain, Electro.
The 45-year-old actor has recently said that his costume won’t be green and yellow like in the comics. He told Blackfilm.com in December that the producers “want something for the future… They want to try new things, like a liquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms where they are hanging me upside down and trying to figure out what [happens].”
Foxx looks ridiculously amazing in his Electro get-up. He is definitely well suited to play a villain. He has the maniacal and evil look down, and has proven in his past film projects (like Django Unchained) he has the potential to be a total badass. It’ll also be nice to see him on screen with Andrew Garfield, and see how they play off of one another.
It’s time to start getting excited about this movies release—even if it’s just in the shooting stages.
The film also stars Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, and Sally Field. It is set to open in 3D on May 2, 2014.
Are you excited for the next Amazing Spiderman?

Hey, Andrew Garfield! We all know you’re filming the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man so we have to ask: is this your stunt double? If not, why isn’t he?
It’s not to say the wire work your current stunt guy is probably doing isn’t impressive already, but this, this is just really cool. Just watch as he flies across the air, doing moves that wouldn’t be out of place in the cartoons themselves.
The only thing missing, though, are the jokes. The best part about the current Spider-Man is that he’s actually funny. We need a little sass every now and again from the guy who seems to have the world on his shoulders.
The popular bad lip read strikes again! The Amazing Spider-Man is the latest victim of the famous YouTube viral series, where it takes scenes from a movie and dub over with what they think their lips are saying. It’s actually kind of scary how the actor that dubs over Andrew Garfield sounds almost like him.
According to the lip dub, Peter can apparently free style and accidentally tells Gwen that he thinks her wooden leg is gross. He also ate her pig and feathered duck, Ruffles and Mr. Peaches (I almost bursted out in laughter here). Either way, bad move, Peter. These videos are so on point, it’s just too awesome not to watch.

The suddenly bearded Andrew Garfield went on TheEllenShow where he was cajoled into dancing badly for charity, and I have to say, he’s the best worst dancer I’ve seen. Andrew had to attempt every dance style Ellen held up on flashcards and for each one he performed correctly, $1000 was donated to Worldwide Orphan’s Foundation. How can you say no to such a worthwhile cause?
Styles included Gangnam Style, the robot, belly-dancing and the Irish jig. He managed to get all of them correct and although he ran out of time, he convinced Ellen to keep going, eventually earning the full $10,000.
The Amazing Spider-Man actor was quite proud of his beard, saying it only took him 29-years to grow. Ellen responded: “I guess it’s a big deal, like men want to know they can grow a beard.” Andrew replied, saying: ‘That’s the only reason to be a man.”
While Ellen tried to get him to talk about his girlfriend and former co-star Emma Stone, he dodged the questions, opting instead to talk about Denis Leary.

In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Shailene Woodley might play the iconic Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming Amazing Spiderman sequel and Niall Horyn needs surgery after a brutal squirrel attack.
HIT: Shailene Woodley may join The Amazing Spiderman 2 cast as Mary Jane Watson
According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Shailene Woodley has been offered to play the iconic redhead Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spiderman sequel. This may be the second best thing to happen to her this week after ABC announced they’ll be cancelling The Secret Life of an American Teenager. Since her stunning performance in the George Clooney film, The Descendants, proves she’ll be a worthy third piece in the romantic love triangle between Andrew Garfield’s web-slinging Peter Parker and Emma Stone’s brainy Gwen Stacey.
MISS: One Direction’s Niall Horan gets attacked by squirrels

One Direction’s Niall Horan recently been spotted on crutches. The 1D member told the U.K.’s the Sun Newspaper that the injury was the result of being attacked by a squirrel in a London park. Niall will reportedly have to undergo surgery to fix the ligaments he tore in his leg because of the furry attack. Niall’s injury just adds to my now rational fear of the urban creatures.
HIT: The Mythbusters prove that Jack Dawson didn’t have to die at the end of Titanic
The guys at Mythbusters have finally put the widely debated Titanic dilemma to a rest. Through the use of science, Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater could’ve lived happily ever after if only she made some room on that floating piece of wood. This startling revelation has 1) made me a smug person who wants to yell, “I TOLD YOU SO” to everyone who has ever disagreed with me, 2) given me another to cry at the end of the movie, and c) given me the conviction to boo at James Cameron if I ever come across the famous director.

Showing everyone why they’re one of the coolest young couples out there, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield got creative for the paps in New York City after a lunch date.
Upon seeing that paparazzi was waiting for them outside, the two created signs and held them over their faces to spread an important message.
The signs, which appeared to be on napkins, read: “We just found out that there were paparazzi outside the restaurant we were eating in. So… why not take this opportunity to bring attention to organizations that need and deserve it,” followed by links to two charity websites, wwo.org and gildasclubnyc.org.
Unlike most Hollywood actors, it’s nice to see Andrew and Emma addressing the paps and the public with a good message.
But on another note, can these two get married already?!
In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, John Mayer is creepy and hits on Jennifer Lawrence and Justin Bieber feels “disrespected” by fans.
HIT: Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are invading your magazine stand

Garfield is on Nylon Guys, British GQ, i-D and VMan, while Stone has New York Magazine and Vogue, with an extensive spread. They also look adorable together on Teen Vogue. The Teen Vogue interview is a good read as two banter with each other, Stone talks about the stupid questions she gets, and Garfield reveals his man-crush on Ryan Gosling. I may or may not rush into my local Chapters, place all the magazines together, and label that section “OTP.”
MISS: Justin Bieber is rude to fans as he waits for Selena Gomez
While JBiebs’ star shone at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York, the media blew up a scuffle he had with some fans at the airport. Apparently, Bieber was bothered by the number of fans who were asking for his autograph as he waited for Selena Gomez. “I’ve had a long day, I flew in,” said Bieber. “I don’t have to be nicer about it. You guys are in my face.” Bieber was probably having an off day and you have to admit, it must be frustrating to have no privacy. Everybody has those days once in a while!

Okay, so we’ve figured out something that Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are actually bad at. Singing. But that’s okay because the duo in The Amazing Spider-Man (out July 3) don’t care that they’re not in tune and their harmonies are off. Plus, they just want to get the message across: SEE OUR MOVIE.
Stone and Garfield, who are actually dating in real life (d’aw), play Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker in the movie. They sang the song on German TV and though it’s mostly English, they threw in some German to mix it up.

We get a better look at The Lizard in the third trailer for Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Not only is Peter Parker (played by Andrew Garfield) fighting small crimes like robberies but he’s got 500 cops to dodge. Oh yea, and then there’s The Lizard.
This is exactly the type of high-action trailer that gets me riled up for the release on June 13. However I agree with some fans that Marvel reveals too many of the movie’s “golden moments.” When an unthreatening robber pulls out a small knife, Peter keels over and says: “You found my weakness. It’s small knives!” Sure it’s hilarious, but the line would have gotten a huge laugh in the theatre — if we hadn’t seen it already.
Other than that the film joins The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers as a superhero movie I’m actually excited to see this summer — especially after the disappointing bombs we’ve seen lately.

Emma Stone was vague when Ellen asked her who was the better kisser between Andrew Garfield and Ryan Gosling. She cleverly answered by avoiding the question saying it’s like comparing apples and oranges. When Ellen pushed her further Emma said she likes all fruits — though it should be mentioned that she and Andrew Garfield are dating. So I think she’s biased. Ellen also made the actress face her fear of spiders by cruelly bringing in an eight legged monster and flinging it on the actress.

While in the studio, Emma Stone destroyed Ellen’s dance challenge in the best way possible, thrusting behind several unknowing victims.

Andrew Garfield talked about his skin-tight suit on Ellen Degeneres yesterday and revealed that there’s absolutely nothing under the unitard. No boxers, no briefs, nada. ”It’s absolutely the worst,” he said about the suit. He told Ellen that his hiney was shot from many uncomfortable angles and that he wasn’t in shape at all before they started filming.
Andrew’s going to be expecting a lot of fame with the new movie and Ellen wanted to protect him from the paparazzi by providing him with a two-step disguise. First, she gave him a blonde mullet wig with sunglasses attached so he can pop it on like a hat. Then she gifted him a stick-on moustache.
Andrew was very appreciative and British polite about it all, even though the disguise transformed him into a German version of Joe Dirt.

Today we talk about Will Ferrell’s hilarious bathrobe interview, an offensive cartoon about Chris Brown and Andrew Garfield’s “British” blow-up at the paparazzi.

We recently saw some awkward candid photos of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone taking a stroll through New York on Sunday morning and I think we all know why they were so uncomfortable now: the pesky paparazzi. I’m sure there are a lot of bonuses to being a celebrity, but I don’t know if the loss of privacy is worth it.
Garfield approached one of the cameramen and very kindly asked him to turn off the camera. Of course, the cameraman is just doing his job and refuses but I can’t help but feel bad for the Spiderman star. The cameraman justifies his filming by saying “you chose the life of a celebrity” but I wonder how many actors actually choose the life of a celebrity.
Some people might say, “well, if they don’t like it they shouldn’t go on a walk.” But, really? I think they’re entitled to a short Sunday morning walk without a parade behind them.
Stars of the upcoming Spiderman movie, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, were seen hugging while she’s been in L.A. filming her next movie.
Some websites like Just Jarred are reporting these two are dating but neither of the two have come clean about it. It could appear they’re just really nice friends. Not everyone that hugs a member of the opposite sex is necessarily getting down and dirty with them. But, for the record, they do look cute together.
The two also spent some time together on Halloween. It’s great they’re keeping in touch since wrapping up the next Spiderman movie which is isn’t out until next July. Hopefully this friendship/romance isn’t one of those “publicity stunts” to amp up The Amazing Spider-Man, where they end up dumping each other after the movie’s on DVD.
Perezhilton.com reports that indie darling Zooey Deschanel may be in the running for a supporting role in Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot. Webb apparently approached Deschanel to play the role of Betty Brant, J.J. Jameson, the secretary at the Daily Bugle newspaper. The role was formerly played by Elizabeth Banks in the Sam Raimi films.
If the film doesn’t have buzz enough, certainly adding Deschanel to the cast would up the popularity of the film. Deschanel seems like a good fit for the role and for the movie in general. Webb has casted indie favorites Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield so another loved zany star would work perfectly in the mix. Plus Deschanel is one of the most loved actresses right now. She hasn’t done much since (500) Days of Summer, but that film did extremely well.
Let’s hope she takes the role!
Marc Webb, director of (500) Days of Summer, is currently in production on the “Reboot” of the Spider-Man series. The film stars Emma Stone (Superbad) as Gwen Stacy and Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) as Peter Parker. Since the beginning of the project rumors have been circling on who the villain might be. Could it be Venom? The Rhino? The Scorpian? TheWrap.com reports that the new villain will be The Lizard formerly played by Dylan Baker in the Sam Raimi Spider-man films.
Welsh Actor, Rhys Ifans (Hannibal Rising) will play The Lizard, also known as Dr. Curtis Connors. Connors was a scientist who lost his arm in the war and became obsessed with reptilian limb regeneration. After the war he began tests on animals to regenerate limbs and decided to test the formula on himself. In result he accidentally gave himself superhuman powers due to exposing himself to mutagenic chemicals.
It will be interesting to see another directors take on Spider-man. It seems that Webb may try to follow the comics more so than his predecessor, Raimi. The film will be in theaters in 3-D on July 3, 2012.
After much speculation of who the next Spider-Man will be, the billion-dollar franchise finally has a new lead. Andrew Garfield has been cast in the role of Peter Parker, and the studios are very confident that this guy has got what it takes.
Amy Pascal, co-chairmen of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Matt Tolmach, President of Columbia Pictures, commented, “You need someone who can magically transform himself from Peter Parker into Spider-Man,” continuing, “we have found that actor in Andrew Garfield. From the first time we saw him in the upcoming film The Social Network, to his glorious screen test, which floored all of us, we knew that we had found our new Peter Parker.”
Though he’s a relatively new actor on the scene, his credits speak for themselves. The young actor has had roles in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and Lions For Lambs, and his most significant part hasn’t even hit the theatres yet. Garfield stars in David Fincher’s new much anticipated movie about Facebook titled The Social Network opposite Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake.
As the young actor has already worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, it should be taken as a true testament that Garfield has some real talent. He’s starred alongside names like Heath Ledger, Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep, and worked with greatly respected directors such as Spike Jonze.
The director of the new Spider-Man movie, Marc Webb, had nothing but good things to say about Garfield, commenting “Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor’s work understand his extraordinary talents. He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.”
The next instalment of the Spider-Man series is scheduled to begin production in early December and will hit theatres in 3D on July 3, 2011.
