Even after I read the headlines about Andrew De Leon being a goth Susan Boyle, I did NOT expect what came out of his mouth.
De Leon talks about being inspired by Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie growing up. ”They really became an escape for someone like me who felt that I was an outsider. Growing up I was alienated,” he says.
His audition for America’s Got Talent was the first time he’s sung in front of anyone in his life (including his family) and his voice was absolutely beautiful. The judges were shocked when the operatic music came on — they expected some type of rock — proving that you shouldn’t make judgements based on how someone looks.
De Leon, who is a makeup artist, literally made people in the audience cry and got a deserved standing ovation at the end. Now I must remind you of the obligatory lessons learned: there’s a star in everyone, don’t make judgements about someone based on how they look. GO FOR YOUR DREAMS.

Part of me wonders if shows like American Idol are irrelevant these days (don’t hate me!!) because of YouTube. Artists like Justin Bieber and Karmin have risen from general obscurity to fame overnight just by posting homemade videos online.
The newest artist on our radar is 13-year-old rapper Chris Miles a.k.a B-Herd. It’s not just the circa 2010-style hair Miles shares with Bieber, it’s also the talent — though it’s a different sort.
He spews out his lyrics with authority and confidence and his video is already going viral on YouTube. That’s sometimes enough to grab the attention in people in high places, but he actually uploaded it as an audition video for America’s Got Talent.
Watch it here:

As “America’s Got Talent” gears up for its seventh season, Howard Stern, the King of all media, is hired on as a judge to replace Piers Morgan.
If you’re a big fan of the outspoken radio DJ, don’t fret. Production for the televised talent show will be moved to New York City, so Stern can continue on with his Sirius/XM radio show, BuzzFeed reports.
I have to admit, I find “America’s Got Talent” extremely corny and boring but now that Stern is on board, his larger-than-life personality will definitely make things more entertaining to watch. I’d be curious to hear him speak his mind to a family of baby jugglers from Oklahoma.
The New York Post writes the shock jock allegedly requested $20 million dollars for his new job. Being a judge is no joke, Stern tells his listeners.
“I take judging very seriously. In order to up my credibility, I will wear a suit,” he jokes.
In this video below, you can watch the cocky Howard talk about how he looks forward to the show, especially to “judge these lunatics”.
No word yet on whether or not anyone’s replacing the snooze-fest of a host that is Nick Cannon.
Nicki Minaj and Susan Boyle apparently developed a friendship after appearing together on America’s Got Talent. The two also traded some vocal tips.
“The two stars might be total opposites but they got on like a house on fire. Nicki was showing Susan all of the stage outfits she’d brought with her and she kept asking to try them on. She was fascinated by Nicki’s bum and just couldn’t take her hands off it” a source told PerezHilton.
Perhaps a collaboration in the future?
Rebecca Black surprised everyone last night with a performance on America’s Got Talent. Black did a mashup of “Friday” and her new single “My Moment.”
This performance is on the heels of Rebecca announcing she is leaving school to focus on her singing career, and after she received harassment from her peers at school.
“When I walk by they’ll start singing ‘Friday’ in a really nasally voice,” she told ABC News. “Or, you know, they’ll be like, ‘Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?’”
Based on this video, we think Rebecca should learn to deal with bullies and stay in school. Although she seems like a nice girl, we aren’t sure she’s got the “talent” to last very long in the music business.

Remember the “mildly” haggard looking woman (often mistaken for a man) who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent? Sure you do, she’s none other than Susan Boyle. TMZ reports that she was straight up snubbed by The Velvet Underground’s former front man, Lou Reed, when he refused to let her sing his song, ” A Perfect Day,” on “America’s Got Talent.”
Why would Reed snub the ever-so-popular Boyle? Apparently he is not her biggest fan. Maybe it is because Susan Boyle is not American. Her thick Scottish accent could definitely do major damage to the song and with the current turmoil of the United States, patriotism is a must. Or maybe this is yet another comment on her appearance. Christ man, not everyone looks like Nico.
Perhaps “Lonesome Cowboy Boyle” would have been a more appropriate song to choose. Unfortunately, Boyle had “Oh Sweet Nuthin’” to sing on the show after she was shut down by Reed. Obviously Boyle is a great singer but it does seem a little strange for her to choose the song in the first place. Perhaps Reed should have acknowledged her attempt to “Take a Walk on the Wild Side.” In any case, America’s Got Talent refused to comment on the subject and Boyle was so utterly heartbroken that she hopped on the first plane out of LAX back to Britain.
Boyle just can’t catch a break. First she is criticized for her appearance and then she is publicly denounced by Reed. It seems as though Boyle, like Reed, may be headed underground.
Extra TV is reporting that Simon Cowell has released some big news! According to Cowell, Piers Morgan from “America’s Got Talent” could be Larry King’s replacement on CNN.
“[Morgan] was under contract to us on ‘America’s Got Talent,’ so he called me and we helped sort of broker the deal,” Cowell said. “I knew about this weeks ago.”
Although there has been nothing officially announced about King’s replacement, Cowell is very confident in Morgan’s ability as an interviewer.
“Piers is without question the best interviewer I’ve ever been interviewed by… apart from you, Terri.” (He of course is referring to Terri Seymour who was interviewing him at the time).
However there is another candidate for Larry’s replacement who has a connection to Simon Cowell. That is of course Ryan Seacrest, who has stood in for Larry King a few times.
We feel that Seacrest would be a better fit. What do you think?
Goodbye Hoff – we loved you but it’s time to go. After four seasons of judging America’s Got Talent David Hasselhoff is leaving the show. In a statement released he said, “I am proud that I was part of making America’s Got Talent, the No. 1 rated show for the past four summers.” Hasselhoff further explains in his statement that he is pursuing his own show. “It’s been a rewarding experience and now I’m thrilled to be able to follow my dream to do my own TV show, which will be announced very shortly.”
Little Bianca Ryan and her amazing voice just won $1 million on America’s Got Talent Thursday Night.
Ryan, 11, was shocked and overwhelmed when host Regis Philbin called out her name and named her the winner.
“I thought he was going to say ‘after the break,’ I didn’t know he was going to announce it right away,” she said, reports People.
The judges were amazed by Ryan’s voice and knew that she would be the one walking home with the prize.
“The first time we heard Bianca on the show I thought well, we can go home now,” said David Hasselhoff, one of the show’s judges.
The show’s other judge, singer Brandy, felt the exact same way and said that “she could be as big as Mariah Carey.”
After treating her family, Ryan plans to act. “I want a show on the Disney Channel,” she said.
