Models Win on Amazing Race
Tyler and James, both models and recovering drug addicts, won $1 million U.S. by crossing the finish line first in Sunday’s finale of The Amazing Race 10.
“Ever since I’ve been sober I feel like that’s how my life has been,” said Tyler after finishing first, according to Canoe. “Like, ‘Is this really happening?’ It’s too good to be true almost, like, ‘When am I going to wake up?’”
The episode itself was notably uneventful, with teams doing little more than travelling, save for a sky-diving trip. The finish line was located at St. Basil’s Academy in New York state.
The two beat out Rob and Kimberly, who finished second, and “Team Alabama,” Lyn and Karlyn. The latter team was the first all-female pairing to reach the top three, but fell into a distant third when they missed getting seats with the other two teams on a flight out of Paris.
The next season of The Amazing Race will reportedly feature an all-star cast of past racers.
The success of the choice is up in the air; host Phil Keoghan has spoken out against changing the standard show format in the past, as the Family Edition of the show disappointed many fans. And unfortunately, Rob and Amber are said to be returning for the all-star season.
