Katy Perry To Release Deluxe ‘Teenage Dream’ Album

Now that Katy’s got her personal life back on track, she’s about to have an even busier professional life with the release of her upcoming “Teenage Dream” deluxe edition album.

MTV writes ”Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection” will package a ton of remixes and three new bonus tracks.

Prior to its February 21 release date, Katy’s releasing “Part of Me” as her new single. We’ll be hearing a lot of it on the radio in the next few days. Here’s a sneak peek of the uplifting pop song:

2012 is going to be a big year for Lady Gaga. She explained in a recent interview that she is heading back on the road, and will also be releasing a new album (and kind of becoming a Mom).

Gaga told MTV, “I just want to keep going. I’m not as goal-obsessed as I am process-obsessed. I just want to keep writing music. I’m looking forward to putting out another album and going on tour.”

Gaga also talked about becoming a Mom one day.

“Someday, a long long day from now. Not soon. My next baby will be my new record.”

So in 2012, Gaga will become a Mom – a Mom to her new record.

2011 was an awesome year for Foster The People. However, the guys are not sitting around and losing the momentum. They are already planning the next album.

“There’s definitely musical elements that we’ve talked about,” frontman Mark Foster told MTV News. “You know, really leaning on the percussive nature of what our live show has turned into this year, and bringing that more out into the second record — just kind of experimenting, doing some different, weird studio tricks; just having fun with it. But you never really know until you get under the hood, so we’ll see what happens when we start.”

Do you think rock n’ roll is dead? Well autotune Queen Ke$ha is determined to save rock n’ roll with her next album.

“I feel like I don’t necessarily agree, but people say that rock and roll is dead, and it is my mission and my goal to resurrect it in the form of my pop music,” Kesha told MTV News. “That’s the goal. We’ll see what happens. That’s a very ambitious and lofty goal, but that’s my goal.”

Ke$ha recently covered Bob Dylan, which might have influenced her thinking. “I’m really proud of that, but I have learned over the past three years of doing this that being vulnerable doesn’t mean you’re weak,” Ke$ha said of her debut. “I very much want to be seen as a strong woman, but I realize that vulnerability can also be a strength. So on my next record, you are going to hear probably a little more of that.”

So we will have to wait and see. Do you think Ke$ha can be taken seriously as a rock artist?

While everyone and their dog are putting out holiday albums, Scarlett Johansson is only sparing us a song.

The actress, who put out an album of Tom Waits covers back in 2008, joins Dean Martin in singing “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”. The classic song is on Dean’s upcoming album “My Kind of Christmas”.

Boom Bap Beatnik posted the song on their site. It’s a pretty dashing song and Scarlett sounds like she’s straight from the 1950s. If the two, who recorded the song back in September, reunite for a music video, I know at least 100 guys who’d love to see Scarlett frolic around by the fireplace, drinking hot chocolate.

Aubrey “Drake” Graham tweeted late Sunday night in response to the leak of his upcoming album Take Care. At first listen, it craftily juggles between Drake’s duelling egos, Aubrey, the emotional slow jammer and Drizzy, the Weezy impersonator.

With unsurprising appearances from Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and a handful by Papa Weezy himself, there is one lush and tender ode to the hometown with R&B up-and-comer, The Weeknd. Inspired by his appearance at Drake’s Molson Amplitheatre show in August, the legendary Stevie Wonder-ful makes a cameo on the confessional “Doin’ It Wrong”. He arguably shows impeccable taste for a sophomore effort, while maintaining the frequent Toronto shout-outs and references.

New Amy Winehouse Album To Be Released After Her Death

When jazz & soul singer Amy Winehouse passed away last July, she only had two studio album under her belt. When the 27-year-old died due to alcohol poisoning, it was clear her record label would put out an album of her unreleased material.

E! reports the new album, appropriately titled Lioness: Hidden Treasures, is hitting shelves December 6. The 12-track album will include original songs written and recorded before her death, cover songs and a duet with Tony Bennett.

Lioness was produced by Amy’s long-time friend and collaborator Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi. Amy’s family gave them heir blessing when approached with the idea.

“If the family had felt that this album wasn’t up to the standard of Frank and Back to Black, we would never have agreed to release it and we believe it will stand as fitting tribute to Amy’s musical legally,” her father Mitch Winehouse told E! Entertainment.

Taylor Swift is teasing the world that she has some surprise projects stored up for 2012, but she isn’t going into any real detail.

She told MTV News she’s working on “some surprise projects that may or may not happen, and possibly some acting.”

“I’ve just been so excited about what’s gonna happen in the next year,” she said. “I’m also really excited about [the next album]. I’ve been writing all the time. I’ve been writing so much for the new record. I can’t believe I’m saying that already: It comes out in a year, but I’m already excited about it.”

It’s Mistletoe Monday!

The teen sensation that is Justin Bieber just sat down with Ryan Seacrest to explain his Christmas plans and to give fans a sneak peak of a track on his upcoming Christmas album.

Probably one of the most anticipated albums of the year, Under the Mistletoe features iconic artists like Mariah Carey and Boys II Men.

Mr. Selena Gomez recently shot a video for the single Mistletoe where he’s seen kissing a mysterious brunette. Although she looks an awful lot like his current girlfriend, we’re sure he’ll be kissing the real deal when he parties with Ryan Seacrest for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” this new year’s eve.

Justin Bieber recently tweeted out the date “#nov1st,” and we are thinking that’s a possible release date for his much-anticipated Christmas album.

Confirmed on the album is a collaboration with the legendary Boyz II Men. Taylor Swift and Sean Kingston are also rumoured to be on the release, and also one secret “superstar” artist. Scooter Braun tweeted “with 1one of the most #Legendary performers ever.”

It will be interesting to see how the album turns out.
