It’s always sad when you move away and have to find a new home for a beloved pet, and sometimes, it’s incredibly hard to find them a suitable, because 1) nobody is good enough, or 2) it’s hard to convince someone to accept all their flaws as lovingly as you do.
This family has mastered the art of the sales pitch. In an adorable video tribute to their hilarious duck McIntosh, they tell his story and describe why he would make such a great pet.
I almost teared up at the thought of McIntosh being homeless. If someone doesn’t step up soon, I’m catching the next flight to Florida.

Kim Kardashian has become one of the most hated people of 2011, after her stunt of marrying and divorcing Kris Humphries. To help restore her image, In Touch Weekly is reporting Kim is considering adopting a baby.
“She wants to adopt a Haitian baby, and she wants to do it as soon as possible,” an “insider” dishes to the mag. “She’s telling friends she wants to adopt because of the awful living conditions she saw in Haiti [writer's note: did she actually see anything in Haiti besides fashion shows and the inside of her luxury hotel?]. But it’s pretty obvious she’s only doing it to revive her image.”
However, this source says Kim is not ready to be a Mom.
“Kim treats [Mason, Kourtney Kardashian's son] like an accessory, not a baby,” the pal says. “She plays with him when she’s posing for pictures, but otherwise, she’s always busy texting to have anything to do with him. … She’s even said that she’s too into her career to have a baby.”
This woman should not be allowed to adopt a baby. Her PR stunt marriage was one thing, but bringing a child into her crazy life is another thing all together.
Do you think Kim should be able to do adopt a child?
And they call it puppy love! Justin and Selena were spotted dog shopping in Winnipeg the other day.
Two two young lovebirds that have been dating for a little over a year now are already taking things to the next level. The Hollywood Life reports they have adopted a precious husky from D’Arcy’s Animal Rescue Centre.
Selena has five dogs already and all of them have been rescued from various shelters. While filming the Wizards of Waverly Place movie in Peurto Rico, she took home a dog after watching him get struck by a car. She’s like Angelina Jolie when it comes to canines.
The pair haven’t been photographed with the new dog yet and they haven’t unveiled the name either. They’re keeping it pretty hush-hush on Twitter.
It seems a little too early to talk about puppies for these two, who’ve only been dating for a year. Should anything happen between them, it would suck to battle it out in court for shared custody of a dog. But, better a baby with four legs than an actual baby that constantly needs diaper changing. I’m pretty sure the two teens are in no way ready for that! Save that hardship for those on MTV’s Teen Mom.
Despite reports from the U.K.’s The Sunday Mirror, Amy Winehouse’s rep adamantly denies she was in the process of adopting a young girl from St. Lucia, reports TMZ.
The Sunday Mirror reported Dannika Augustine and her grandmother claimed that Amy was in the process of adopting Dannika, and that her parents were in support of the plan.
But Amy’s rep tells TMZ … “It’s not true” … adding, “I think [Amy] might have met her in St. Lucia, but she was in no way about to adopt her.”
As we reported earlier, we suspected this was an attempt for the family to get some easy fame/sympathy. Now they just look like idiots.
A girl and her grandmother from St. Lucia are claiming Amy Winehouse was in the process of adopting the girl.
The ladies told a British paper that Amy met the girl, Dannika Augustine, on one of her visits, and Amy took an interest in the girl’s well-being as she was living in poverty.
Dannika tells The Sunday Mirror, “Amy was already my mother. I would call her mum and she would call me her daughter. She took care of me and we had fun together. I loved her and she loved me … She was the most amazing person and I was looking forward to living with her here or in London. I cannot believe she is gone. This is the worst thing that ever happened to me.”
Dannika’s grandmother Marjorie told the paper, “Amy wanted to have a child so bad. If she had not died, there is no doubt she would be here in St Lucia completing the adoption process. There is no way she would have done what she did to herself if Dannika was with her.”
Do you believe this family, or do you think they are looking for some easy publicity/sympathy?
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Sandra Bullock says that she and ex-husband Jesse James have “moved on,” and she supports his decision to move to Austin.
“I support Jesse in his move to Austin,” the Oscar winner, 46, tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week’s cover story. “We have both moved on with our lives and only want the best for each other. Anything else that is said on my behalf is inaccurate.”
Sandra also recently completed the adoption of her 8 month-old son Louis on Aug. 13.
Sheryl Crow has announced on her website that there is a new addition to her family, reports E! Online.
The 48-year-old musician adopted her second child, a little boy named Levi James.
“I have some exciting news to share with you guys-Wyatt has a new little brother! Levi James was born April 30th,” Crow wrote on her website. “Just wanted you all to be the first to hear the good news!”
The Grammy-winner adds Levi James to her brood, alongside her first son Wyatt Steven Crow, whom she adopted in 2008.
“Slumdog Millionaire” star Rubina Ali and her father, Rafiq Qureshi have been headlining news across the world after a British tabloid accused Ali’s father of attempting to sell her into illegal adoption. However, Qureshi has been cleared of wrongdoing by Mumbai police, as reported by Reuters.
“So far there is no evidence of any offense, hence there is no registration of complaint and no arrest,” Nisar Tamboli, a senior police officer, said to the agency.
Madonna’s petition to adopt a second child from Malawi was rejected by a judge on Friday, April 3rd.
According to chartattack.com, Madonna flew to the southeast African country to try and adopt three-year-old Chifundo James, whose first name translates as “Mercy” in English. But Judge Esme Chombo, a judge in Malawi’s capital of Lilongwe, said prospective parents must live in Malawi for 18 to 24 months before they can adopt a Malawian child.
“The decision came down to residency requirement and the fact that the judge believes she was being well taken care of in the orphanage,” Zione Ntaba, a spokeswoman for the Malawi Justice Department, told CNN.
“For the Malawians, the fact that the child is at an orphanage, is being taken care of and is going through the school education system, that does qualify as the best interests of a child.”
Madonna is on her way to Malawi to adopt a 3-year-old girl named Mercy.
According to perezhilton.com, the world-traveler is expected in court on Monday.
But, in what can only be an awkward situation, Madge will be facing a homecoming party for her son, David Banda, whom she also adopted from Malawi a few years ago.
Apparently, everyone is expecting the kid to get reunited with his biological dad Yohane Banda, the one that gave him up for adoption. According to In Touch Weekly, Yohane said recently, “I am excited to get reunited with my son after three years.”
Mama don’t preach, Jamie Lynn Spears isn’t keeping her baby. Instead, diaper duty will be handled by Jamie Lynn’s mother, Lynne.
A source for Star Magazine said that “After several weeks of personal soul searching and talks and discussions with her mum Jamie Lynn reluctantly agreed that giving up the baby is the right thing to do.”
The source said that Lynne will mother the child because she wants Jamie Lynn to have a normal teenage lifestyle and a successful career.
Jamie Lynn’s decision may also be influenced by the Ellen Page movie, “Juno,” in which Page plays a pregnant 16-year-old who finds a set of adoptive parents for the child. Jamie Lynn was spotted watching “Juno” at a movie theatre the day before she made her pregnancy announcement. Additionally, she is said to be obsessed with the film’s soundtrack and using it to help her get through this difficult time.
Showcase has ordered 13 episodes of “Weeds’” fourth season.
The Golden Globe-nominated show should go back to filming in April, depending on the length of the WGA strike. It would then premiere in the summer.
The show about a suburban single mother who just so happens to also be a pot dealer rose eyebrows even higher this season by casting Mary-Kate Olsen as a heavily religious girl convinced that God wants her to sell pot.
The success of the show might not be the greatest thing for star Mary Louise Parker, however. She was filmed by TMZ this weekend at JFK airport, terrified by a storm of paparazzi. She is seen in the video cradling her newly adopted son and trying to protect his eyes from the flashing bulbs.
Superstar sensation Madonna has found herself in yet another adoption debate.
The 48-year-old songstress may embark in a tug-of-war battle in adopting Jessica Kondanani, an 18-month Malawian girl.
John and Angela Wilmot, an Australian couple, declared they’re far into the process in adopting the little girl.
In an interview with British magazine “Closer,” Angela expressed concern that her plans to adopt Jessica will have a bump in the road because of Madonna’s interest and celebrity status.
“We heard that Madonna was interested in a child, who we now hear is Jessica – but we are quite far down the line with our adoption,” she says.
Madonna has confirmed her intentions to adopt another Malawian child.
“I’m going to adopt another Malawian child very quickly. A baby girl this time.”
Madonna’s spokesperson failed to give any comment on the matter.
