You can tell Adam Levine is serious about good music when he helps launch singers to stardom as a judge on “The Voice.”
But what happens when he takes the judging a bit too far? Acting as a super-demanding celebrity (we really doubt he is), it takes him a while to decide on a proper meal.
His decision at the end? A bottle of tequila and a tattoo gun.
Now that’s the type of decision I’d be down for
Details of comedy music group The Lonely Island’s next album The Wack Album have finally surfaced and it’s starting to look like a who’s who of music. But first up is the music video for their next big hit, “Spring Break Anthem.”
Disguised within a new episode of Between Two Ferns, the boys of The Lonely Island (Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone and Andy Samberg) get a little help from the show’s host, Zach Galifianakis, and his guest, James Franco, with a surprise appearance from actor Ed Norton.
While I would’ve been absolutely content with Between Two Ferns as Galifianakis sends out zingers like, “I don’t consider what you did at the Oscars hosting the Oscars,” this is much better. The guys all end up marrying each other because that’s the logical thing to do right in the middle of spring break (got to get all the crazy out of your system before settling down, right?).
On the music side, super heavy weights Justin Timberlake, Solange, Lady Gaga, Pharrell Williams, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and T-Pain are set to appear on the upcoming The Wack Album. “YOLO” featuring Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar (which previously premiered on Saturday Night Live) will also be included in their new effort. The Wack Album is set to drop June 11.
Justin Bieber is having a crazy time right now. March started with a wild and shirtless 19th birthday party in London which apparently turned out to be the worst birthday ever, he collapsed on stage, he hit a paparazzo, got dissed by his ex Selena, and then got his pet monkey confiscated! That last one sounds unreal, like when did J-Biebs get a monkey anyway?!
Hopefully the month of April will be a turning point for Justin and it’s already off to a good start with the release of his duel Teen Vogue covers for the magazine’s May issue. Judge which cover you like best.

But Justin isn’t the only celebrity who gets to celebrate scoring a magazine cover. April may have just started but the magazine industry is already busting out its May issues.

So check out who also landed themselves a cover and find out which celeb will rule the newsstand!
Last night’s episode of SNL not only marked the moment when Maroon 5’s Adam Levine “overreached and tried acting” (his words, not mine) to host the live sketch show, but also the return of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, a.k.a. the Lonely Island.
And hallelujah and thank the lords because there hasn’t been a good digital short since Samberg and crew left the show last year (except for maybe Taran Killam’s “Sloppy Swish”).
This time around, the boys of Lonely Island turned the tables on last year’s beloved catchphrase, “YOLO,” with assistance from Levine and musical guest Kendrick Lamar. Though instead of going balls to the wall, they advise against stupidity because hey, you only live once, right?
Their sage wisdom via song includes:
Thanks Lonely Island, for digging deep into my paranoia. It only justifies my reasoning to stay at home because a piano might just fall on my head the moment I walk out the door.
Watch “YOLO” by Lonely Island feat. Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar below:
Kristen Stewart
What she’s wearing: K-Stew busted out a Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 romper to promote the final Twilight movie in Tokyo, Japan.
Why we love it: This look is fresh off the Paris Fashion Week and I couldn’t be more stoked that Stewart chose to wear this look. Stewart is finally coming into her own red carpet style and leaving her naysayers in the dust. The black and white checks is a cool design feature that feels refreshing due to the simplicity and large size of the pattern. Also it’s a romper which makes it all the more fun. The outfit looks very mod but still modern.
Takeaway: Designers are giving a fashion twist to plaids and checkered patterns so be on the lookout for some funkier versions of these everyday patterns. Also opting for a black and white look can be a very safe choice, so do black and white in a cool pattern that keeps the look modern.
Victoria Beckham
What she’s wearing: Posh Spice was spotted out and about in New York City in a Comme des Garçons floral print blouse and J Brand high-waist bell bottom jeans.
Why we love it: We all know that Ms. Beckham can pull off a skin-tight mini dress like no other, so it’s always nice to see her in pants, separates, and prints. Her floral blouse is in a nice brown that pops with bright reds and yellows. Also Beckham just oozes fashion that she manages to make these high-waisted bell bottom jeans high fashionable and not mom-jeany (sorry Anne Hathaway).
Takeaway: High-waisted jeans are not for everybody so if you are self-conscious about your derrière or your tummy you might want to stay away. However bell bottom or flare jeans are actually flattering to most body types so they are a safer bet when you want to change up the types of jeans you wear.

Bad boy Adam Levine released his fourth album with Maroon 5 earlier last month Overexposed, with one hit in particular that’s been topping the charts and constantly on the airwaves, “Moves Like Jagger.” With all his success (including being a judge on The Voice) it’s not clear that this will be his last album with the band.
During an interview with The Sun, Levine mentions his pet peeves more in depth how “scenes” are a thing of the past. “People who tell me they only like one kind of music, I want to punch them in the face.” He goes into talking about past legends, “There’s never going to be another Stones or The Beatles, another Elvis, because they existed in a time when nothing like that existed.”
Now we know he took out his boxing gloves for Maroon 5′s “One More Night” music video, but sadly didn’t dish out on any names in particular. Maybe in the future we can see Levine in a celebrity boxing match? Future possible career (on the side) because there’s no way I can live without his soothing voice.
Watch here:
It’s a relief that rapper and lyric scholar Mac Miller was on Twitter at the precise moment Maroon 5′s Adam Levine became confused over Carly Rae Jepsen’s underplayed song “Call Me Maybe.” Considering it’s been on the radio for months now it’s baffling he doesn’t understand the incredibly simple and non-rhetorical question she puts forth in the chorus.
Then again, it’s better to ask late than be confused for the rest of your life. Because then one day 40 years from now you’ll ask your grandson what it means and he’ll be all like: ”you went 40 years without knowing why she asks you to call her MAYBE?”
Miller responded to Levine’s scattered question (it was accompanied by a compliment about Carly’s given name) with a simple explanation to ensure Adam would understand. So summed up, this is pretty much the most unexpected and best Twitter conversation in history. Well, besides Drake getting one-upped by gazillionaire T. Boone Pickens.
And yes, we do understand this was all in good fun — but dissecting Twit Lit like it’s Brit Lit is a favourite pastime.

Maroon 5′s lead single from Overexposed “Payphone” is an infectious pop song that you can expect to have stuck in your head ALL summer. The track features Pittsburgh MC Wiz Khalifa on their poppiest album yet.
Adam Levine, who’s music career has been on the up since The Voice, sings to you: “If happy ever after did exist, I would still be holding you like this.” If you insist.
The album will be out on June 26 and was produced by Max Martin.
Listen to it here:
Christina Aguilera stole the stage from this The Voice contestant when they sang Mary J. Blige’s classic “I’m Goin’ Down” together.
Sera Hill’s blind audition went so well that Aguilera felt compelled to ask her producers for a microphone and jump on stage to sing the chorus of the song (the only part of the song she knew by heart).
It’s so unexpected that if I were on stage I’m sure I’d be shell shocked. Aguilera managed to steal the stage from Hill AND the other judges who wear this “There she goes again” look. There’s no question that Hill was chosen by one of the judges but I wonder if Aguilera nabbed her in the end.

E!’s Guliana Rancic couldn’t take no for an answer when interviewing Maroon 5′s Adam Levine about his supermodel girlfriend, Ann Vyalitsyna.
Giuliana’s normally very friendly and respectful when interviewing A-list celebrities but for some reason, she couldn’t help but pry into Adam’s love life. She kept asking him what songs he sings to his Victoria’s Secret girlfriend. While Adam always comes off an an arrogant, conceited guy, I can’t blame him for not wanting to talk about his personal life.
Watch the cringeworthy interview at Buzzfeed.

NBC’s ‘The Voice’ has announced that they’ve enlisted more celebrity talent for their upcoming season – this will surely challenge those over at ‘American Idol’ the most watched show on television.
According to Rolling Stone, each of the show’s panelists will now be joined by two celebrity advisors from the music industry. Cee-Lo Green will be joined by other R&B heavyweights, Ne-Yo and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. Maroon 5′s frontman Adam Levine will have some help from Alanis Morissette and Robin Thicke while mentor Christina Aguilera will be joined by Jewel and industry-icon, Lionel Richie.
“I trust the show more than I trust the record industry at this point,” said Levine about reality show singing contests, in a recent Reuters interview. “It is a very tired format, but in a way this is a very fresh way of doing it.”
Another mentor, country-star Blake Shelton is pulling in two reality-show veterans – his wife, Miranda Lambert and Kelly Clarkson. That’s right, Seacrest.
“I chose Miranda and Kelly because they both survived reality television shows,” Shelton told reporters at an annual gathering of TV critics. “I just wanted somebody who could talk to them about what they were going through.”
Executive producer and reality show innovator Mark Burnett admits that the show’s success hasn’t yet fulfilled its expectations. Last year’s winner Javier Colon (who?) released his album and peaked at no.134 on the Billboard 200 album chart. That doesn’t even come close to the success of “Idol” winners in the vein of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
It’s impossible to predict success in the ever-changing music industry and even making a name for yourself in the Billboard chart is a huge feat. Though this season could change everything, again.
The new season of ‘The Voice’ premieres February 5 on NBC.

Everyone can admit that Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is pretty nice to look at. There can’t be a guy who doesn’t envy his muscular physique. So, how does the star stay in such good shape? With yoga, of course!
In the December 2011 issue of Details, Levine says fans will never go backstage at a Maroon 5 concert and not see a room marked ‘Yoga’.
“Yoga takes what you have and molds and sculpts it, which is a much more natural way to look and feel,” he says. Talk about dedicated! But hey, if that’s what he has to do to look like that, who are we to stop him!
“I don’t like how people bullshit about how yoga is not about vanity,” Levine tells the magazine. “Playing a show before thousands of people is a highly unnatural state, and when I get on the mat to do an hour of yoga before the show, I come out physically relaxed.”
So, do you want to look like Adam Levine? Well, here are the three essential poses Levine uses during his routine;
1. The Headstand I

2. The “half-moon with hands in prayer”

3. The “One-Legged Koundinyasana II”

Adam Levine from Maroon 5 sent out a tweet yesterday that was less than flattering about MTV’s VMAs.
His tweet read, “the VMA’s. one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. fuck you VMA’s.”
Of course he is referring to MTV’s change in focus. MTV use to be all about music, but now they are more into reality TV like Jersey Shore.
Thanks Snooki.
Adam Levine is on the cover of Out Magazine, where he discusses homosexuality and bad mouths American Idol.
“What’s always pi**ed me off about ‘Idol’ is wanting to mask that, for that to go unspoken,” says Levine. “C’mon. You can’t be publicly gay? At this point? On a singing competition? Give me a break. You can’t hide basic components of these people’s lives. The fact that ‘The Voice’ didn’t have any qualms about being completely about it is a great thing.”
Levine became passionate about this issue after Adam Lambert claims while on AI he was forced to keep his sexual preference quiet.
Levine also discusses having a gay brother.
“We all really wanted to provide some cushion for him and constantly let him know that it’s OK. A lot of people don’t want their kid to be gay and will fight it all costs, but I’ve got news for you—it’s a losing f**king battle.”
Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine will collaborate on a new Maroon 5 single, reports Billboard.
The two music artists, who are judges on NBC’s ‘The Voice,’ will collaborate on the track ‘Moves Like Jagger.’
The single is set to be released next week on iTunes. They also plan to perform the single on the June 21 episode of the show.
Levine said in a statement that it was “great” getting to work with Christina, while Aguilera called the collaboration a “wonderful opportunity.”
The song is described as a quintessential Maroon 5 pop song, with an upbeat tune. This isn’t the first time Levine has teamed up with a pop icon, previously jamming with Rihanna on ‘If I Never See Your Face Again.’
I’m excited, I’m sure the song is great! It will be interesting to see how Aguilera’s powerful voice mixes with Levine’s softer, serenading voice. Great publicity for ‘The Voice,’ too.
I had a feeling there would be some competition between these shows. Let the reality-singing-catfight begin.
The Voice’s Adam Levine, who front runs Maroon 5, was the first to fire a verbal shot when he said on the last episode:
“The people that we’re not turning our chairs around for could win American Idol.”
Ouch.
American Idol’s Randy Jackson was quick to fire back, though. Here’s what he had to say:
“It’s a great thing when talent can be simple, honest and revered as opposed to spinning around with gimmicky chairs. Maybe Simon Cowell should have people opening doors. Like, ‘Knock, knock; Who’s singing? I can’t see you!’”
Jackson continued, saying ”Look, none of these other shows could exist without somebody forging the path before them. I’m happy to say that Idol did that and paved the way.”
Listen, I think there’s room for both shows. I’m sure anyone who tunes into American Idol will tune into The Voice, and vice versa, so let’s all be friendly, K?
Christina Aguilera to be the next J.Lo?
After reports of Aguilera being in talks with producers from the new NBC show, The Voice, the news has finally broken that this genie-in-a-bottle is set to join Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine (from Maroon 5, for those who have forgotten) as the third host on the Mark Burnett singing competition.
According to Perez Hilton, Aguilera issued a statement, saying:
“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it. To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms. I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to The Voice.”
After all the professional setbacks this talented singer has had recently – like getting arrested with her boyfriend for public intoxication and driving under the influence, shortly after tripping onstage at the Grammy’s during her Aretha Franklin tribute – we can’t wait to see this 30-year-old get back on her feet!
“When I decided to produce ‘The Voice,’ I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera,” Burnett said in the statement. “Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of ‘The Voice.’ ”
Only problem is, will this new show be able to compete with American Idol? We already saw what happened to Paula Abdul’s Live to Dance, which after one season is reportedly over – let’s just hope that this one will have a longer life than that!
The Voice premiers April 26 on NBC. Are you going to watch? Which judge are you most excited to see?
Alicia Keys has succeeded in making another one of her dreams come true. The nine-time Grammy winner just finished taping a special episode of MTV ?Unplugged? and will now join the likes of Nirvana, Elton John, and Alanis Morissette ? musicians who comprise an exclusive list of big-name artists to have graced the show?s stage.
“As a child, in my wildest dreams ? and I dreamed so big ? but you never think it’s going to happen,” Keys told MTV. “So to be here, on the set that we’re going to record ‘Unplugged’ on, it’s amazing and beautiful and everything I’ve ever dreamed of.?
The R&B sensation brought the show back from MTV retirement last week in New York, where she serenaded fans with new renditions of songs off her two studio albums (Songs in A Minor and The Diary of Alicia Keys), a few covers (including Brenda Holloway?s ?Every Little Bit Hurts?) and also two new originals.
The MTV Unplugged series first debuted in 1989 and showcased popular bands in intimate, stripped-down performances, sans electric guitars, keyboards, and special effects. The show was credited with bringing about an ?acoustic revolution? in mainstream music.
?’Unplugged’ is my thing, it’s really my style, it’s what I’m all about,” said Keys. ?To have strings, to have percussion, to have all these elements to put in the piano base that I have, this is so much fun, man.?
Joining in on the fun were some of Keys? famous friends, whom she brought on stage to sing with her. Maroon 5?s Adam Levine joined Keys for a cover of the Rolling Stones? ?Wild Horses? while rap stars Common and Mos Def are featured in ?Love It or Leave It Alone.? Keys also performed with Damian Marley (son of reggae legend Bob Marley) for a unique rendition of his single, ?Welcome to Jam Rock.?
Fans can also look forward to hearing two new tracks on the show: “Stolen Moments” and “Unbreakable.” Keys describes ?Stolen Moments,? which she co-wrote with soul icon Al Green, as being about a romance “that shouldn’t exist, but it’s so perfect in how they relate to each other.” Meanwhile, “Unbreakable” is about “how life and love can be unbreakable.?
“Once people see this ‘Unplugged,’ I just want them to feel the spontaneity, to feel passionate,” Keys said. “I want you to see another side of me, that’s free, and feel where my head is, where whatever happens, happens. I want you to feel inspired.”
“Alicia Keys: Unplugged” is tentatively scheduled to air on MTV September 9.
