Miu Miu Ad Featuring Hailee Steinfeld Banned

After pulling the plug on a Marc Jacob’s perfume ad featuring young actress Dakota Fanning, the British Advertising Standards Authority is also yanking a Miu Miu ad starring Academy Award nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld.

Apprently the ad is “too irresponsible”, according to The Guardian. Sure, there are a ton of ads on billboards and magazines promoting sex, drugs and anorexia. But for Pete’s sake, it’s just a pretty girl reflecting by the train tracks!

The ASA claim the clothing ad is “irresponsible and in breach of the Code in showing a child in a hazardous or dangerous situation.” Once again, people are taking things way too literally. Sure, train tracks aren’t the best place to go and have a cry, but in the “fashion world”, there’s never a proper place to go sulk, is there?

Of all the ads we’re bombarded with constantly in the media, this Miu Miu one is far less harmful than the ASA makes it out to be. Sit and think about it for a second. Just maybe not real any tracks.

Dakota Fanning Ad Banned in England

According to Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority, the above ad for Marc Jacob’s perfume featuring Dakota Fanning is deemed too sexually explicit. The Gossip Cop reports the ad has been banned in magazines and billboards.

The young actress is dressed like Lolita, posing with a gigantic bottle of Lola by Marc Jacobs perfume between her legs.

The organization issued a statement saying: “We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualise a child.”

The Brits are taking things a little too seriously here. Dakota’s dress isn’t that show to begin with. Also, it’s not like she’s doing anything dirty with the bottle. It’s just sitting there on her lap like it were a cat or laptop. For a young star, Dakota’s been taking good care of herself, meaning she hasn’t gone down the Lindsay Lohan path, but I don’t think she ever will.

This is all just a case of Brittain’s Got ~~Talent~~ to Chill.

‘Two and a Half Men’ Naked Ad Campaign

Two and a Half Men is returning on September 19, and the show is getting ready with a new ad campaign featuring the naked stars.

The ad clearly shows the newly minted star Ashton Kutcher, and based on the expression of his co-star Jon Cryer, he seems well hung. Or perhaps the expression is because he has nothing at all?

This ad campaign is the show’s attempt to maintain its edgy appeal, while still maintaining its family “sensibilities.”

Anyways, we continue to wait with anticipation if the show will continue its strong track record, or if Charlie Sheen leaving is its ultimate demise.

Google Chrome Teams Up With Justin Bieber

Google has teamed up with Justin Bieber to launch the new Chrome browser. The ad is pretty cool as it shows how the Internet and social networking gave rise to the pop star.

It’s also a pretty smart move by Google considering Bieber will share the ad with his millions of fans following him on Twitter and Facebook. Well played for Google and the Bieber.

Hanes Cuts Ties with Charlie Sheen

Hanesbrands has decided to end it’s ad campaign featuring TV star, Charlie Sheen, following domestic violence charges filed against him.

The Two and a Half Men star was arrested on Christmas Day on charges that included felony menacing and domestic violence.

Sheen denies these allegations, however, according to AccessHollywood.com, had no comment.

As for Hanesbrands, they were comfortable with their decision.

Matt Hall, company spokesperson, stated that it was a “pretty standard, straightforward call by the marketing team.”

A not-so-pretty mugshot of Lindsay Lohan is seen in an advertisement attacking devices that measure drivers’ blood-alcohol level before their vehicle can start. As paid by the American Beverage Institute, a trade group that supports the alcohol industry, the full-page black-and-white ad can be seen in USA Today. Above Lohan’s mugshot from her July 24, 2007 DUI arrest, the ad reads “Ignition interlocks are a good idea for” and above photos of people drinking the ad reads “But a bad idea for us.”

“The reason we used Lohan is because she’s had multiple DUIs (driving under the influence] that have been high-profile,” said Sarah Longwell, managing director of the American Beverage Institute. “We needed to create the distinction for the public what someone with multiple DUIs looked like, versus a low-blood-alcohol-level first-time offender.”
