Who knew Tilda Swinton was Snow White in disguise?
Surprising visitors at the MoMA, the actress will be taking up residency in New York’s MoMA this month on random days. As a MoMA source tells the Gothamist, ”Museum staff doesn’t know she’s coming until the day of, but she’s here today. She’ll be there the whole day. All that’s in the box is cushions and a water jug.”
“Tilda Swinton will be doing unannounced, random performance art pieces sleeping in a glass box in the museum,” the source added. “Today is the first performance. Each performance lasts the whole day the museum is open.”
Titled “The Maybe”, Swinton first performed the piece in London in 1995 at the Serpentine Gallery. She has also performed the piece in the Museo Barracco in Rome.
I’ll be lying if I said I understood performance art, but I suppose this is significantly better than Yoko Ono’s take at it.
P.S. What will Tilda do if she needs to use the washroom?!!!!
These past few years have belonged to Rebel Wilson’s growing film career, and we are just going along for the ride. Over the past few years Wilson has had us peeing ourself laughing in Bridemaids, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Struck By Lightning, and obviously Pitch Perfect.
I feel like Fat Amy is this year’s icon. I haven’t seen a movie this gif-able, as frequently blogged about and as casually quoted since Mean Girl because let’s be honest, we all have some Amy in us. If Rebel Wilson was here, I am sure she would have make a dirty joke about that previous statement.
I hope Rebel Wilson’s career lasts a very long time because I can’t help but smile when she’s on the screen. She is the epitome of a scene stealer. The greatest thing about her is her improv. Most of the time, we weren’t always laughing at the writers’ beloved jokes. We were instead laughing at her own comedic genius. For example, while Chris Colfer DID write the lines, “Bitch fork” and “Bite me, hobbit,” he did not write the hilarious “we will spread that shit like nutella” in Struck By Lightning. The movie was brilliant as is, but Wilson brought a little darkness to the small comedy.
Sorry Lena Dunham, but I think Rebel Wilson is the voice of this generation. I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t think Rebel Wilson is the most hysterical person to grace Young Hollywood. It’s because of her that people watch Pitch Perfect on a constant basis.
My favourite thing about Rebel Wilson is how she is funny on- and off-screen. There is nothing not to love about this woman, and her co-stars have only great things to say about her. I have made the official decision that she and I need to be best friends… So Rebel, if you ever read this, fly me over to L.A. and we should get a few drinks together. Sounds good?

Pitch Perfect: “Fat Amy”

It’s been quite a journey for actress Jodi Balfour. Since moving to Canada to perform on shows such as Sanctuary and Supernatural, the South African landed a role in the popular Canadian drama series Bomb Girls. Taking on the part of Gladys Witham, Balfour plays the only daughter of a wealthy family who chooses to defy convention to work in a munitions factory building bombs during World War II. Chatting over the phone with Samantha Lui, the actress revealed what it’s like to play a headstrong 1940’s woman and how she feels empowered in her own life.
Here are five things about Jodi Balfour that make her AWESOME!
She met a real Bomb Girl and listened to her experiences: To prepare for her role as a munitions factory worker, Balfour met up with a family friend’s mother who used to build bombs in England before settling in Canada after the war. Having read that working in the 1940s gave women a feeling of liberation, a sense of purpose and camaraderie among one another, Balfour says she was interested to hear firsthand about the unglamorous and difficult aspects of being a Bomb Girl. “For her, it was kind of arduous and quite challenging for her body and her mind. She doesn’t necessarily look back on the time as her glory years by any stretch,” Balfour says. “She said when (the war) was over, she was quite happy to have a rest because it was quite taxing and grueling physical work!”
She relates a lot to her character, Gladys Witham: Balfour was drawn to Gladys for her sense of strength and her forward-thinking attitude. “I wouldn’t say that I’m nearly as brave or daring as Gladys is in my life but she definitely lives up the dream version of something we’d all like to have the guts to do. In that respect, I think I’m pretty stubborn and strong-willed. I like to get my own way and that’s definitely something I share with the character.” Read more…
Lindsay Lohan has returned to films. But instead of appearing in a major blockbuster, Lohan is appearing in the short indie-like film ‘Lindsay Lohan: Transformed’ by Richard Phillips.
Running 90 seconds long, the film is basically just about Lohan and how beautiful she is. There are lots of close up shots and artistic camera shots, emphasizing her looks and facial expressions. The video was shot last month in Malibu, Calif., by surf-king filmmaker Taylor Steele.
“I’ve never made a film, not even on an iPhone,” Phillips said. “In some ways the video relates to my art, but it’s also a way to think about a new kind of portraiture.”
“What fascinates me about Lindsay are not her problems but the way she embodies an eminence on the level of a Bardot or an Ullmann,” Phillips said. “She’s a combination of the fantastic and the real, which is what makes her so magnetic. She can also bring forward an existential presence that speaks to the isolated self.”
Despite all her troubles in her personal life, one can’t deny that Lohan is a great actress, and an even better model. Check out the below to see Lohan in all her glory.
Estella Warren has been arrested for a DUI, hit and run, assault, and escape, reports E Online.
The model and ‘Planet of the Apes’ star landed herself in jail after allegedly smashing into three cars in Los Angeles on Monday. Warren then drove away from the scene, was nailed by cops and ultimately arrested for DUI. But then it gets worse.
Warren, who was driving her Toyota Prius when the incident happened, then resisted arrest and kicked a cop. After trying to flee from the scene, police caught up with her and cuffed and hauled her off to the station. She failed a field-sobriety test just past midnight (obviously.)
But the sad saga continues.
When Warren was being booked, she managed to slip her skinny model wrists out of her handcuffs and bolted for the back door of the station, where she tried to escape yet again.
The ‘Sports Illustrated’ model was quickly caught (again) and was booked on an additional charge of felony escape. Which brought her rap sheet total up to four for the night.
Incidentally, while Warren has publicly cited her age as 32, her booking report lists her as 40. Maybe that’s why she was so desperate to flee – she didn’t want her real age to be revealed. Her bail has been set at $100,000.
This is such a crazy story, I love for things like this. She gave a good fight, but in the end, she’s going to have to pay big time. Good efforts, though.
Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to undergo psychological counselling, reports CTV.
The troubled actress has also been sentenced to three years probation, attend The Shoplifter’s Alternative program, pay fines of $180 and stay away from jeweller Kanofie and Co. after pleading no contest to stealing a necklace from the store.
Lohan didn’t appear in court this morning for the sentencing.
Last month, Lohan was deemed to have breached the terms of her 2007 probation, which was set following a driving under the influence conviction, because of the theft charges. She was sentenced to 480 hours of community service and 120 days jail, for which she must turn herself in on June 17.
The 24-year-old star, who began her community service last week, has made an application to serve the jail term under house arrest, a move which is expected to be approved.
“I’ve made a lot of poor decisions in the past and I’m dealing with the consequences of those decisions, so there were times when I was concerned but I’m a fighter and I know that I have a lot of work to do to gain the respect back and I’m willing to do the work that I have to do to be an actress,” said Lohan in an interview.
Hopefully this is the last time she goes through this. She got really lucky this time around, and I’m rooting for her to finally, finally, get back on track.
Alicia Silverstone has given birth, reports X17.
The ‘Clueless’ actress reportedly had a water birth at an LA-area birthing center on Friday. The new mommy is already at home with the baby.
Throughout her entire pregnancy, the 34-year-old actress has been promoting her new diet book ‘The Kind Diet,’ which follows vegan principle. I guess it’s no surprise she went for a natural birth.
Silverstone and her husband Christopher Jarecki, 40, confirmed they were expecting their first baby together back in January. The couple have not released the gender or name of the baby.
Congrats! That kind of birth sounds rather, painful, but if it made her happy then by all means. Power to you!
