Rihanna tells British Vogue that she isn’t a role model. She insists her act is just entertainment for her fans.

“That’s not me. That’s a part I play. You know, like it’s a piece of art, with all these toys and textures to play with,” she tells the magazine. “See, people … they want me to be a role model just because of the life I lead. The things I say in my songs, they expect it of me, and [being a role model] became more of my job than I wanted it to be. But no, I just want to make music. That’s it.”

She also believes the struggles of her youth made her a stronger person today.

“I saw too much. I was way too mature for my age,” she says. “Look, God doesn’t give any more than you can handle. I had to get through a lot of ups and downs — big downs — and a lot of trial and error to get where I am now.”

Enrique Iglesias Is Not An Opening Act for Britney Spears

According to Enrique Iglesias, he is too good to be Britney Spears’ opening act, reports TMZ.

Reports surfaced yesterday that Iglesias dropped out of Britney’s tour, only hours of it officially being announced. According to people connected to the story, negotiations were taking place for weeks which would make Enrique a co-headliner. However Enrique came to the conclusion yesterday that he is basically Britney’s opening act, and his ego couldn’t handle that.

One source says the deal was actually very favorable to Enrique … “great terms and great placement.” However he still would take the stage before Britney, and Enrique wasn’t feeling that.

In our opinion, this is going to be one of the biggest tours of the year. Enrique is nuts to give up this chance, even if he is the opening act.

Joaquin Phoenix Apologizes to David Letterman

A year after appearing on the “Late Show with David Letterman,” Joaquin Phoenix returned to the show to apologize for his last awkward appearance on the program.

“I mean, I think that you’ve interviewed many, many people and I assumed that you would know the difference between a character and a real person,” he says about the now-infamous 2009 interview. “I hope I didn’t offend you in any way.”

It all turned out to be an act, as Director Cassey Affleck recently revealed Joaquin’s new documentary, “I’m Still Here.”

“Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no,” Letterman told him. “I’m telling you, it was so much fun. It was batting practice, you know what I mean? Every one of them was a dinger.”

Britney Spears’ Magic

Magician and actor Ed Alonzo will be joining Britney Spears’ “Circus” tour according to E! Online. It has been reported the illusionist will be performing a magic number with the singer on her tour.

“Right away she got into the boxes and into the magic contraptions to learn the stuff, and she’s so excited about this tour and all the elements that are in it,” said Alonzo to E! News.

“We’re going to be doing the classics of magic but a little high-tech,” he continued. “We’ll be doing a little dissection, transposition, a vanish, an appearance—and if I do a trick she doesn’t just hold the props, she’s actually getting inside the big boxes or I am slicing her up.”

Alonzo said the tricks are relatively easy but there are “some complicated things that she is doing that you would think a contortionist would have to do, or a trained magicians assistant.”
