Now that Gossip Girl is over, are you wondering where you’ll get your weekly T.V. fashion fix? The end of Gossip Girl has left a big fashion hole in the land of television so we’ll be going through a couple of options for you to try. Some of these shows might fill the void, but only time will tell.
The Carrie Diaries
This is the most likely successor to fill the space Gossip Girl has left on our T.V. schedules. Probably because Gossip Girl was the show that succeeded the fashionable and iconic Sex and the City. So with The Carrie Diaries being a prequel to SATC, this new show has all the elements of being your new T.V. fashion fix. As viewers we’ll get to witness the young Carrie Bradshaw (played by the excellent AnnaSophia Robb) discover her voice and love of fashion and we’ll get to see how she became the style icon that we know and love (i.e. Sarah Jessica Parker).
Pros: Fun 80s fashion and a glimpse of a wilder, funkier, and grittier New York City that is long gone. Plus Carrie Bradshaw is back in our lives!
Cons: NYC = fashion and the city was a character in itself for SATC and Gossip Girl but The Carrie Diaries only partially takes place in NYC. Plus being stuck in the 80s means less chances for modern and fashion forward moments.
90210
The Beverly Hills 90210 reboot has somewhat lived in the shadows of Gossip Girl. The original 90210 was a major fashion fix in the 90s, making the Californian ZIP Code the most fashionably coveted place to live during its early run on television. The show put sunny Hollywood Californian style on the map but in the fashion world the West Coast is not actually the Best Coast. NYC is couture while L.A. is Hollywood glam. The new 90210 has all the elements of taking the fashion reigns from Gossip Girl but those are quite big shoes to fill and the window for viewers to get on board on already established show is small (you’re going to have to play a lot of catch-up).
Pros: Its young, beautiful, and stylish cast. Plus the show’s a fashion fix legacy (never forget the amazing shoulder pads of Brenda, Kelly, and Donna).
Cons: The shadow from Gossip Girl still looms, while The O.C. set the standard high for young Californian style in the new Millennium.

In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Robert Pattinson gets funny on Good Morning America and Ryan Lochte lands a cameo on 90210.
HIT: Robert Pattinson delivers a zinger during one awkward interview

The Good Morning America crew is no Jon Stewart when it comes to comedy, but at least Pattinson was able to deliver his own zinger about the bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch they presented him in lieu of ice cream. “I’d like my fans to know that Cinnamon Toast Crunch only has 30 calories a bowl in it.” Start the slow clap.
MISS: Ryan Lochte lands a 90210 cameo

Lochte has what I like to call the “David Beckham” problem. Both are incredible athletes and they look damn good, but when they open their mouths, the illusion is shattered. While Beckham’s voice doesn’t match his physique, Lochte’s less than eloquent speech and tweets just makes me wish I never heard him talk. Adding to this is his less than impressive bit in Funny or Die’s “Olympic Ticket Scalper” video which also starred Sir Patrick Stewart, Simon Pegg and Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams. I really hope the 90210 writers give him one really easy line because I don’t think he can handle anything more than that.
HIT: Jennifer Aniston gets engaged

Aniston’s boyfriend Justin Theroux finally popped the big question on his birthday last Friday. Aniston reportedly cried tears of joy while tabloid editors wept for the end of their favourite tabloid storyline. Good riddance to all the Jen vs. Angie headlines that have plagued us. The only time I want to see an Angie headline is when Big Ange is laying down the law on Mob Wives.
MISS: Lil Wayne rumoured to quit rapping for skateboarding

If you’ve been following Lil Wayne on Twitter, it’s no secret that the rapper is really into skateboarding nowadays. He’s been hanging out with a number of pros and even injured himself earlier this year. “”I picked up the skateboard and I thought it’d be a hobby and what happened is it’s a lifestyle…,” he said in a radio interview with Atlanta’s HOT107.9. “Rap is taking a backseat to skating.” I really hope he doesn’t think he can turn pro that easily. Good skating is more than just flip tricks and rails. Just like rap, it’s about your flow and style, something you can’t develop in one year.

Next time you’re in an intimate situation and either party decides it’s a good idea to go sans condom, remember the safe sex rap. In fact, memorize the lyrics so you can handily resort to rapping the message to your partner.
Actually, that would be the perfect way to DESTROY the mood, so whatever you do DON’T start spewing out 90s rap in bed, or wherever you are (there are more effective ways to get your message across). Even if this safe sex rap isn’t immediately helpful to your present day bedroom qualms it’s probably hilarious enough to satiate the bottomless pit where you store 90s nostalgia.
There are a few things we can deduce from this rap:
1. Even without the disclaimer, we can tell this PSA is from the 90s (1993 to be exact) because it reeks of washed-out denim, varsity jackets and round-framed glasses.
2. We’re pretty sure that wherever this guy is, he’s known as the male version of Robin Sparkles. And it’s likely that he still hasn’t gotten laid — that’s the natural albeit unfortunate consequence of referring to sex as the dilly dally.
3. All these students, who submitted this video project for their class “Acting for the Camera,” probably FAILED. But we respect their positive intentions — not everyone their age can reject the hyper-sexualized messages rampant on the original 90210. That show is like Sex Kryptonite.
Watch it here:
Probably the stupidest thing I found on the internet today is Jessica Lowndes’ music video for “I Wish I Was Gay”.
Jessica plays a singer on the hit show 90210 and now she’s one in real life, too, but she just so happens to be a really shitty one.
When not filming for the show, she’s recording her upcoming album. Jessica’s first single is called “I Wish I Was Gay” and my final verdict is: I wish I was deaf.
There’s nothing more annoying than a pretty, rich girl complaining about being too pretty and getting hit on by everyone in the world with an adam’s apple. She continues the “wah wah, I wish I was a lesbian so I wouldn’t be treated poorly by guys” whining in the form of a music video.
The video for “I Wish I was Gay” is as bad as the track cover. It starts off with Jessica in a dressing room dressed in menswear, auditioning for what appears to be the sequel for Showgirls.
If Jessica’s talented at anything, it’s lapdancing. There’s a ton of that in the music video, which seems hypocritical for someone who wishes she was on the pink taco diet.
Sure, guys watching this may need a cold shower afterwards but the only thing I need after watching this monstrosity is a shotgun to the head. Watch the video at your own risk.

We all know the stars of Jersey Shore would eventually go on to star in movies. Vinny Guadagnino seems to be the first of the guidos.
Perez Hilton explains Vinny just wrapped up an appearance on 90210 where he plays a big celebrity that takes a guy out on a crazy trip to Vegas. Apparently, Vinny did so well that the producers have requested he come back and film more scenes.
Of all the Jersey cast members, Vinny was the most likeable. He has a great personality, and, to be honest, I’d definitely tune in to see how he fares. Rather him to make a 90210 cameo than the Situation!
The episode is set to air sometime in November.
Vinny Guadagnino from Jersey Shore is expanding into acting. The GTL expert will have a guest starting role on CW’s 90210.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms Vinny will be appearing on an episode that airs in November. He’s playing a young, talkative, celebrity who loves the trappings of his fame. Guadagnino’s character will go head-to-head with Liam (Matt Lanter) in a poker game when the cast goes to Vegas.
Candy Spelling, mother to actress Tori Spelling, has sold her expensive home to a 22-year-old, reports E Online.
The home, which is the most expensive home on the U.S. market, was put for sale two years ago by Spelling for $150 million. The 4.7 acre Holmby Hills home belonged to her and late husband, Aaron Spelling, the producer of 90210.
Now, the home is apparently being sold to a 22-year-old heiress of a British billionaire. Yes, she’s 22, and yes, that’s ridiculous.
Formula One heiress Petra Ecclestone, the daughter of billionaire racing boss Bernie Ecclestone, is up for the pad – and it’s going to cost her. The place has its own gift-wrapping room, for heavens sake.
As for Spelling, she has downsized to a $35 million penthouse in Century City. Rough life.
’90210′ star AnnaLynne McCord recently spoke out about finishing her third season and revealed she wants to leave the show.
She explains:
“Honestly, after about three years on a show, you’re like, ‘Thank you very much for giving me a step up. Now can I go do movies?’ We love our job and we love our fans especially, but you’re always ready for that moment when you can break free. Being on a show is awesome. You have guaranteed work, it’s wonderful and the money is great, but at the same time you miss out on projects. There have been several movies I couldn’t do, and I really loved the script and wanted to be a part of them, and it just didn’t happen because I was working on the show. There’s always the ying and yang of it.”
Wow, the girl doesn’t hold back.
Does anyone even watch ’90210′ anymore? I could understand why she would want to jump off a sinking ship, but I have a feeling her network executives won’t be too happy about the statement. Maybe they’ll make her sign up for three more years out of spite.
Remember when Mischa Barton complained about being on ‘The O.C?’ They killed her off and her career went down the toilet. So I’d watch what you say, McCord.
Wow – time flies! Remember Andrea Zuckerman from the original “Beverly Hills 90210?” Well Gabrielle Carteris who played Andrea turns 50 years old today, according to TMZ.
Now it should be noted that Gabrielle was 29 years old when she started the role. And it should also be noted her character was only 16 years old (isn’t acting amazing!). Although we hated the character, we felt this news deserved some attention.
Happy birthday Andrea or Gabrielle or whatever.
Are you kidding us? Seriously? Brian Austin Green has actually officially married Megan Fox? Wow! There is hope for everyone!
TMZ reports the couple married at a small ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii.
The ceremony took place late last week and roughly a half-dozen people attended.
All we can say is there is hope for every guy out there. If a douche like Brian Austin Green can land Megan Fox, all we can say is “Mazel Tov!”
Jennie Garth has announced she will be leaving 90210, but co-star Jessica Stroup insists Garth will be making an appearance or two at West Beverly High in the future, reports E! News.
“There’s no saying she’s never going to come back,” Stroup said. “She’s my sister. She will come back. I’m going to make it happen!”
As for Stroup’s character, Silver’s decision between Dixon (Tristan Wilds) and Teddy (Trevor Donovan) will be a difficult one, the actress said.
“It’s a tough call, but I think right now, deep down, Silver really wants to be with Teddy.”
It was on and then it was off, and now it’s back. E! Online is reporting that Brian Austin Green is now reengaged to actress Megan Fox. The 90210 star tweeted on Saturday that he is “engaged and [has] a son from [his] previous relationship”, after a fan asked if he was married and had kids.
Early last year Fox called off the engagement but those differences have obviously been resolved. Additionally Megan has reportedly purchased a $2.9 million home in Los Feliz last week, shortly after her fiancee put their old house on the market.
Rumer Willis celebrated her 21st birthday Saturday at Tao in Las Vegas, reports Perez Hilton.
The eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore is currently filming episodes for a guest appearance on teen drama 90210. She can also be seen in the upcoming teen flick Sorority Row.
Perez Hilton reports Rumer Willis, the eldest of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s three daughters, will be appearing on the CW’s 90210 next season as Gia, a punky lesbian who works on the school newspaper.
Willis, 20, is only planned to guest-star in one episode of the hit series, but may be called back to continue the role if it’s successful.
In the past, she has guest-starred on Army Wives, CSI: New York, and Medium. Each appearance was just for one episode.
According to Entertainment Weekly, she will also appear in an episode of ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager, scheduled to air in mid-August.
Although reports claim that starlet Shenae Grimes is causing trouble on the set of 90210, Jessica Lowndes, who plays Adrianna, says otherwise.
According to E! News, Lowndes says the reports on ridiculous.
“None of it’s true. We’re all like a little family. There’s no drama, and everyone’s trying to create drama.”
As for drama on the show, Lowndes says audiences will expect a lot of it.
“Oh my God! It gets worse,” Lowndes said of her character. “The drugs just get harder and harder. And starting this Tuesday, my character starts her downfall. It’s pretty crazy. It’s pretty shocking. I definitely think people are going to be shocked.”
90210′s Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup are frighteningly thin.
Rumour has it the cast and crew of 90210 are worried Grimes and Stroup are losing too much weight.
“I heard some of the boys on the show are going to sit down with the girls and talk to them,” a source told US Weekly.
“They want the girls to gain weight. They are trying too hard to be skinny, and it’s started to wear on them.
“I’ve never seen Jessica or Shenae eat. It’s just not healthy.
“The girls were all skinny when they started, but they’re definitely thinner now.”
Penn Badgley of “Gossip Girl” has even weighed in on the situation: “I hope they eat a double cheeseburger or something.”
Grimes, who used to star in Degrassi: The Next Generation, is said to weigh about 90 lbs at 5’3″. Stroup, at 5’8″, is rumoured to weigh only 100 lbs.
Former “Degrassi: The Next Generation” star Shenae Grimes is reportedly becoming a monster on the set of the new 90210 show.
According to Perez Hilton, Grimes believes that she is the only star of the spinoff, snarling, “This is my show – everyone else is riding my coattails.”
When she’s not tormenting the regular cast and crew, she has even insulted an unnamed guest star, asking, “”Who the hell are you?”
While 90210 debuted to great ratings, viewers have dropped off very quickly.
For the CW network, a particular area code is good for business.
90210, the CW’s new modernized version of Beverly Hills, 90210, proved to be ratings gold for the network on Tuesday night.
The two-hour premiere averaged nearly 5 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research estimates. The CW said it was its highest-rated scripted show in its three-year history.
90210 was the night’s number 1 show among 18-to-34-year-olds. CW has been a struggling network since its birth in 2005 and hoped 90210 would be their knight in shining armour. Or in this case, it’s a grown up Brenda Walsh and Kelly Martin, both reprised by Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty.
Canadian actress and former Degrassi star, Shenae Grimes, is part of the new 90210 cast. The second episode airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on CW.
Shannen Doherty says she feels a kinship with her new co-star, Shenae Grimes of “Degreassi: The Next Generation.” The new friends are currently filming the new 90210 series.
“Maybe it’s because her character is similar to how [my character] started out,” Doherty told USA Today. “It’s also because Shenae is smart and she knows what she’s doing, but at the same time there’s a vulnerability there, and I want to put my arms around her and protect her,” Doherty says.
With her past experience, Doherty is happy to be able to guide Grimes through new-found fame.
“The great thing is that she’s smart enough that she’s not going to make the same mistakes I made. But because I made those mistakes, I can help her along the way.”
The evil witch is back!
According to People magazine, Shannen Doherty will be reprising her role as Brenda Walsh on the CW spin-off 90210.
“Shannen is looking forward to returning to 90210,” Doherty’s rep tells the entertainment magazine.
Doherty, who played the twin sister to Jason Priestley’s character Brandon Walsh for four seasons of the original Beverly Hills, 90210, will return as a visiting drama teacher who directs a musical at West Beverly High School when the show premieres Sept. 2.
Other original cast members to reprise their roles are Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling. Spelling was to star in the pilot episode but backed out after giving birth to her daughter in June.
“I’m looking forward to returning to 90210 in a later episode,” Spelling told People earlier this month.
