50 Cent is fighting with his record label Interscope, and is threatening not to release anymore music. 50 feels the label is moving too slow and not working hard enough.
50 posted to his Twitter, “Man I’m not releasing an album… I can’t believe Interscope is this f**ked up right now. I apologize to all my fans.
“I will work with other artist on there projects but I will not put out another album. They dropped the ball with me one time to (too) many… they can’t seem to get it right when it comes to me.”
50 has so much money he doesn’t even need to release anymore music. Off Vitamin Water alone that guy has money to burn.
Rapper 50 Cent is set play a blind DJ in ‘Odd Thomas,’ a film directed by Stephen Sommers and based on the original Dean Koontz novel.
The rap-superstar will join Anton Yelchin, Willem Dafoe and Patton Oswalt among the cast. That’s quite the cast, will he be able to perform?
Koontz’s bestselling 2003 novel follows the exploits of a clairvoyant cook who uses his powers to track the killer of a young girl. The film starts shooting this summer in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Kind of a random role for 50 Cent – I’m sure he could pull of the DJ thing no problem, but the blind part, I don’t know. Despite roles in action/music flicks, 50 hasn’t really done some serious acting, so we’ll see how this turns out.
Do you think 50 has what it takes to pull off a role like this? What’s your opinion on music stars turned actors? (Personally, I don’t like it. Not one bit. Unless you’re Jennifer Hudson and win an Oscar.)
After months of speculation, awkward twitpics and interviews, Chelsea Handler has finally confirmed rumours that she dated 50 Cent.
But of course, we all knew that anyways, right?
Although she admits the two were an item, she stresses the relationship was very casual.
Handler, who is usually on the one asking the questions on her show Chelsea Lately, took a turn to the other side on Tuesday when she sat down for an interview with Piers Morgan and answered questions about her personal life.
“We dated, very casually,” Handler admitted. “He’s a very sweet, nice guy… I was sampling, kind of, the atmosphere, seeing what was out there, and I was satiated.”
With this confirmation, rumours are finally put to rest.
Throughout the fall and winter, the two played with the web and press but never fully defined their relationship. At one point, Handler posted a photo of the two in bed and tweeted,”I don’t know why anyone thinks I would ever date a rapper.”
When pictures of them dining closely surfaced, Handler firmly denied the rumours.
As did the rapper, in an interview with Vibe Magazine, in which he said:
“”Chelsea is confident. I think confidence is the sexiest thing about a person. She’s the kind of person that if you’re blessed with the opportunity to hang out with her, you’ll enjoy it. I’m not sure you’ll look at her and actually want to jump over the table and f**k her, but you might. You would leave after talking with her feeling that she is a cool person.”
Oh you guys. Did you really have to do all this hiding? Piers Morgan must be some interviewer to be able to get Handler to fess up!
The 50 Cent empire isn’t big enough, so 50 is now expanding into comedy.
50 will be starting ThisIs50Comedy.com, which officially launches on April 28. PopEater reports the site will feature the debut of 50′s comedy show — dubbed “This Is 50 Comedy Show.” The show will be taped in front of a live audience in the Times Square Arts Center in New York City, and will be streamed live online.
Access to the show will cost $2.99, the proceeds of which will go towards Japan’s relief fund.
But is 50 Cent funny. He did have the quick stint on “Entourage” where he was mildly entertaining.
50 Cent took to his Twitter to mock the earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Japan on Friday, Perez Hilton reports.
His Twitter contained jokes about those suffering in Japan, and trust me, they aren’t funny. He wrote:
“Its all good Till b*tches see there christian louboutins floating down da street shit gone get crazy.”
“Wave will hit 8am them crazy white boys gonna try to go surfing.”
“Look this is very serious people I had to evacuate all my hoe’s from LA,Hawaii and Japan. I had to do it. Lol”
He must have realized that he was being offensive to those affected, because he later tweeted an apology over the insensitive tweets:
“sorry”
“Nah this is nuts but what can anyone do about it. Let’s pray for anyone who has lost someone.”
“Some of my tweets are ignorant I do it for shock value. Hate it or love it. I’m cool either way 50cent”
I mean, is 50 Cent so desperate for attention that he has to mock death and tragedy in order to get his name out there? 50 has made homophobic tweets before as well, so it doesn’t surprise me that he’s stooped so low once again. Just because your music career isn’t as hot as it used to be doesn’t mean you have to take down everyone with you. An apology really isn’t enough either – made you should think about donating some money to help Japan recover. And not just 50 cents.
Some people question if 50 Cent broke the law over the weekend, but it turns out he’s in the clear. 50 told his 3.8 Million Twitter followers to buy stock in H&H. The actual tweet was “NHI is the stock symbol … they are no joke get in now.”
50 holds a substantial number of shares in the company, and the stock surge earned him $5.2 Million. H&H imports “Sleek by 50″ headphones that 50 Cent endorses, and 50 happens to own 7.5 million shares and warrants for 22.5 million more, according to Gawker. However he did not break the law as he owned shares in the company, and continues to do so. If he had dumped the shares, then there would be potential legal issues.
50 Cent’s 52 room Connecticut mansion was burglarized this morning by two men who were later arrested, reports TMZ.
At 6am security guards for the property called police reporting a suspicious car in the driveway. Cops later showed up to the home and found two men in the house. However one of the men was found hidden in the closet drunk with a bottle of wine which he stole from 50.
Apparently marijuana was also found in possession of the gentlemen. We wonder if that was stolen from 50 also…
Comedian Chelsea Handler has repeatedly denied rumors of her dating 50 Cent, but it seems like the two are closer than ever – in bed!
Handler tweeted a picture of what could only be an intense cuddlefest with the rapper, captioning it “I don’t know why anyone thinks I would ever date a rapper.”
Handler has poked fun at the prospect of her dating 50 Cent on her late night talk show, Chelsea Lately. But despite the frequent denial of their romance, the two have been spotted on a lunch date, and even getting PRETTY close at a club in New Orleans last month.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Chelsea Handler is the world’s biggest attention whore!
Check out the picture in question HERE.
With rumours circulating about Chelsea Handler dating 50 Cent, Chelsea is not ready to address these rumours on her show, reports PopEater.
Jo Koy recently appeared on Chelsea’s show, and threw out a bomb. “Thank you for ‘banging’ 50 Cent, Chelsea.” The host blushed, turning a deep shade of crimson. A few seconds before, she had been mocking Jo’s bright red sweater — now, the tables were turned. “Don’t make me turn … red,” she said, laughing and pointing to her flushed cheeks. Chelsea again denied any relationship — “I’m not banging him!” But her next statement was oddly contradictory: “When I have something to say, I will say it on this show.” This seemed to imply that there was something to say, but that Chelsea didn’t want to talk about it.
Chelsea Handler has taken to Twitter to say she is not dating 50 Cent. That kind of sucks because they would have been the coolest couple.
Rumours started when TMZ posted pictures Sunday of 50 hanging out with Chelsea at a New Orleans jazz bar.
“Everyone, calm down. I met with Mr. Cent about a potential project. There’s nothing to report yet, I’ll let you know if there is,” she tweeted.
However a source close to Chelsea reports something different.
“It’s been going on awhile,” the source explained to Usmagazine.com. “It’s more of a hookup thing — whenever they are in the same town.”
We have been wondering for a while how to address the newest photos of 50 Cent, so here it goes.
Our gut feeling is 50 Cent will suck in this movie. If you remember his role in “Get Rich or Die Tyin’” it wasn’t what we would consider an award winning performance. Although we are sure he put 100% of his effort into the role, the guy is a rapper/businessman, not an actor.
However you can’t question his dedication to the acting craft. As reported by PEOPLE, 50 Cent has altered his physical appearance drastically for his upcoming role as a cancer stricken football player. 50 has dropped more than 50 lbs. – slimming down from 214 to 160. As you can see in the photo, he looks drastically different!
Because 50 is trying so hard, we hope his upcoming acting role is a success. However we also believe people should stick to what they are good at. 50 is a rapper, not an actor.
There’s one Hip/Hop album that’s been anticipated for so long, that it has gradually become somewhat of a Utopian rumor.
But after over a decade’s wait, Dr. Dre’s third studio album Detox has finally seen a small uncovering, as the mega Grammy Award winning rapper/producer revealed the title of the record’s first single on Sunday night, Under Pressure featuring Jay- Z.
According to MTV news, Dre confirmed the track at Boston’s Fenway Park, during the Red Sox’s opening night. While the legendary icon took part in some batting practice, he admitted that Under Pressure would be the perfect tune to listen to while getting into the zone at-bat.
“Absolutely, that would be it. ‘Under Pressure” — it’s so fitting,” said Dre, who was there with Interscope head Jimmy Iovine to promote Dr. Dre’s Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.
Rapper 50 Cent is facing a lawsuit for allegedly editing himself into a sex tape of a Florida woman and then posting the footage on the Internet, reports E! News. 50 Cent appears in the video wearing a large wig and using the pseudonym Big Pimpin’ Curly.
Lastonia Leviston, the woman in the video, filed a lawsuit with the Manhattan Supreme Court, claiming the rapper used her name and likeness without her permission and caused her emotional distress in doing so.
It seems that those fans waiting so eagerly for 50 Cent’s fourth solo album were in fact, not so eager.
The album, entitled Before I Self-Destruct recorded disappointing sales that, earlier in the rapper’s career, would have made him imitate the album title and self-destruct out of shame. But, according to mtvnews.com, 50 Cent isn’t too bothered by the meagre release.
The album release was the lowest opening week of his lengthy career, premiering at #5 on 160,000 sales. 50 Cent is blaming some of these lackluster numbers on the fact that the record leaked weeks before the big debut, instigating an earlier-than-anticipated release date by the record company.
Boombox.com published the following sentiment that 50 Cent told DJ Green Lantern’s Siruis Satellite radio show in an interview:
MTV has compiled their list of the top ten, “Hottest MC’s in the Game,” and they’re releasing each name one by one.
The criteria for the top 10 list are: lyrics, flow, impact, buzz, sales and intangibles. MTV has put together an expert panel of their most educated hip hop critics to rate the current talent and success of today’s top hip hop artists.
Number 10 on the list is Wu-tang Clan member Raekwon (aka Raekwon the chef). While Raekwon’s public exposure has never been particularly high, he is one of the most talented artists in the music industry. His album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.. Part II, released September 8, 2009, was critically acclaimed by all major music and hip hop outlets; debuting at number four on the Billboard 200. This was his fourth solo album along with the numerous Wu Tang albums to which he was an integral asset. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… Part II reaches back to those Wu tang roots with raw hip hop verses and classic beats (produced by hip-hop giants RZA, Dr Dre, The Alchemist and Eric Sermon and many others).
Number 9 on the list was hip-hop heavyweight 50 cent. While he hasn’t released an official album since Curtis in 2007, 50 released one of the most impressive mix-tapes of the year, War Angel. The mix-tape showed fans that 50 is still first and foremost dedicated to his musical craft. Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson is in the process right now of completing his fourth studio album, “Before I Self Destruct”. The album was scheduled to be released in late 2008, but instead was re-worked and improved for the new release date of November 17. Like Raekwon, Jackson has the top producers in the music industry working on his album including Dr Dre, Timbaland and Eminem, to name a few.If the recently released track Flight 187 is any indicator of the style of this new album, Jackson’s fans will be pleased. The song has a classic 50 cent flow with a relaxed yet cold-blooded tone.
50 Cent has been trying to sell his Farmington, Connecticut mansion for almost two years, according to Perez Hilton.
He paid $4.1 million for the 50,000 square foot, 19 bedroom house, and invested $6 million in repairs. The rapper said the place had a “Miami Vice feel” to it before he fixed it up, installing stripper poles and a disco.
He was originally asking $18.5 million for the house, but dropped his price to $14.5 million in 2008. He’s now hoping to receive $10.9 million – still $800,000 more than he spent on the place.
Mega rapper, 50 Cent, will not be dishing out any new CD’s to fans for Christmas this year. According to MTV News, unfortunately, the new album “Before I Self Destruct” has been pushed back until 2009.
“The beginning of ’09″ said the record label in a press release on Friday regarding their timetable for the green light of the album.
50 has put out a single of “Get Up”, and promises some other teasers before the album is put on shelves.
He told Mixtape Monday of a Dr. Dre-helmed track he “stole” from Eminem during their recording session in Detroit a few months ago. 50 did note that Slim Shady did give him his blessing to use the record.
“I said, ‘Let me see what [Dre did],’ ” 50 recalled with a smile while speaking on the video set of “Get Up.” “Last time I recorded The Massacre album, I was in Orlando [Florida]. I went in the computer there. That’s how I found ‘I’m Supposed to Die Tonight.’ It’s interesting. With ‘In Da Club,’ D12 [who the beat was intended for], had the production started my career.”
Performing for the U.S. troops in Iraq 2004 has had a lasting impression for elite rapper 50 Cent. An impression, so strong, that he’s carried the memories of the soldiers he met that day with him ever since.
“It was eye-opening. It was like, ‘You think you’ve had a tough time? … These people have a tough time.’ They’re in this environment that’s more intense than anything you could imagine,” 50 told MTV News.
As a result, it was not even an offer to contemplate when 50 was approached to appear at the “A Night for Vets: An MTV Concert for the BRAVE”, as 50 donned the stage Friday night for an audience of Veteran soldiers.
However, not only because he had met the troops himself, but also because he has become quite aware of the challenges those troops have faced when returning home.
“I don’t think there’s any way you can understand it unless you’ve been there and seen it,” he said. “When they come back and realize that everyone went on with their lives, you know? People went to work, did their thing, and the troops come home and it’s tough for them to realize it, man. They have it tough, and that’s part of the reason I did ‘Home of the Brave’ [the 2006 film in which 50 played an vet returning home from Iraq], to try and tell that story to people.”
And for 50, after having played for audiences all over the world, performing for the Vets, is definitely something else.
“They’ve got an energy. You gotta come hard, you know? These guys are tougher than the tough guys from my neighborhood, ’cause they went over there willingly,” he laughed. “I know I wouldn’t want to put myself in that position. There are some tough guys in the crowd out there tonight.”
50 Cent is giving 14 people the chance to win $100,000 in his new reality show, “The Money and the Power.”
The show, which will premiere next month, has contestants split into two teams, each with their own boss. They will compete against each other in a series of challenges using book and street smarts, with the winner receiving ten grand of the rapper’s money to develop their idea.
As with Donald Trump’s similarly-themed “The Apprentice,” 50 has his own signature exit line for contestants getting the boot: “Get the f**k outta here.”
The show will begin airing on MTV Nov. 6, but you can get a sneak peek with the trailer here.
50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, can currently be seen on the big screen in “Righteous Kill” opposite Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. He also has several upcoming movies, including “Before I Self Destruct” (which he wrote, directed, produced and starred in) and “Streets of Blood” with Val Kilmer.
“Before I Self Destruct”, the up and coming film of rapper 50 Cent, has began giving glimpses of the G-Unit star’s “Hustler” life while growing up, as trailers for the movie have just been released, according to MTV News.
The film, which is not autobiographical, intends to reveal the different issues of the “urban life”, in a new way, according to 50. “When [movies] portray certain lifestyles they don’t show cause and effect,” he says. “But I showed characters under pressure in scenarios where they felt like there were no other options, even though there were.” He adds, “There are always options.
The movie, which comes out on December 9, side by side with 50’s new album of the same title, has revealed plenty of action including a local store being blown up, 50 running through the projects, and then busting down an apartment door with a shotgun.
And that’s just the trailer.
