Oprah to Guest Star on ‘30 Rock’

Even though she’s busy giving out cars like they’re breath mints, being attacked by Tom Cruise on a couch and being the queen of daytime, Oprah Winfrey is still making time to appear on primetime this fall.

Oprah Winfrey is in final talks to appear as a guest star on Tina Fey’s hit show, 30 Rock, reports E!

Oprah would make her 30 Rock debut on Nov. 6 and has already been written into the second episode script.

Winfrey will be playing herself appearing in scenes opposite Tina Fey’s character, Liz Lemon.

Oprah will be joined by other guest stars this fall including the friendly, Jennifer Aniston, who will appear in the third episode. Will Arnett will also reprise his Emmy-nominated role, Devin Banks for the season premiere.

The Oprah Winfrey Show will begin its 23rd season on Monday, September 8.

Former Ally McBeal Joins New NBC Show

Jane Krakowski is joining the cast of the new NBC dramedy “30 Rock,” while Rachel Dratch’s role is being cut back.

E! Online reports that the former Ally McBeal star will play the star of the fictional variety series that “30 Rock” takes place around.

“Jane is enormously talented and everyone is thrilled that she is joining the cast. I think it’s going to be a perfect fit,” said executive producer Lorne Michaels.

Dratch, meanwhile, was supposed to play the star of the fictional variety series, but instead will play a number of smaller roles of different characters for the series. Michaels says he changed things around because Dratch has a knack for comedy, so he wanted her roles to exentuate her strengths.

“Both Tina (Fey) and I obviously adore Rachel, and we wanted to find a way in which we could go to her strength. The way it’s been rewritten, it’s a much funnier part,” Michaels told Variety about the switch.
