Who knew a relapse could spawn something positive? Eminem’s latest studio release “Relapse,” a first in almost five years, grabbed the No. 1 spot on the Albums chart.
Meanwhile, Greenday took the No. 2 spot with sales of 166,000 copies for “21st Century Breakdown,” per Nielsen SoundScan.
Also, 6 other new albums hit the Top 10. Kenny Chesney landed the No. 3 spot with “Greatest Hits II,” followed by Method Man & Redman at No. 4 (selling 63,000 copies of “Blackout! 2.”

As expected, Green Day will hit the road in early July for a full-fledged North American tour – the band’s first in three years – in support of their new album, “21st Century Breakdown.”
The chart-topping rockers have announced 38 dates for the summer trek, which kicks off July 3 in Seattle and runs through Aug. 25 in Los Angeles.
In between are seven Canadian stops: Vancouver (July 4), Edmonton (July 6), Saskatoon (July 7), Winnipeg (July 9), Hamilton, Ont. (July 16), Ottawa (July 17) and Montreal (July 18).

Green Day will celebrate the release of their eighth studio album next month with a small club show – a rarity for the mega-selling band – in New York City.
According to MTV Germany, the band will play the 700-capacity Bowery Ballroom on May 18, three days after “21st Century Breakdown” hits stores.
The album is the band’s follow-up to 2004’s “American Idiot,” which sold more than 12 million copies. As previously reported, the new album has a narrative structure, divided into three acts, that tells the story of a young couple named Christian and Gloria.
