This Alaskan Malamute puppy might kill you with cuteness. Her name is Ariel and she’s just learning to howl. Sure, it’s cute now. But imagine it in the middle of the night when you’re trying to sleep. Anyway, you might have to punch a wall just to regain your sense of toughness after watching this video.
This ATM machine went completely apeshit on a man who was just trying to do his banking. Instead of providing a simple receipt, it decided to spew out a bunch of papers with happy faces on it. It’s too bad it wasn’t money, but at least the machine had good thoughts in mind. Apparently the machine eventually stopped flipping out, but uploader ssweens113 says the guy behind him was slightly concerned.
Starting your music career while you’re still in high school can be complicated. Between school, touring and making new music, Austin Mahone is a busy guy.
We asked him how he maintains his seemingly “perfect life.” It’s a demanding schedule that can be pretty repetitive — hotel room, venue, sleep. “Honestly, the music business is insane,” he said. “It’s super crazy — I never expected it to be this intense.”
Oh, and we also got some news about his upcoming album! “My album’s gonna come out around the time I’m going on tour with Taylor Swift, which is around March. And so I would say expect a lot of collaborations with huge artists,” he said. “You know, just upbeat pop songs.” Get excited.

wwideinterweb put together their 50 favourite viral videos of the year to the tune of Psy’s “Gangnam Style.” The video includes everything from the Kristen Stewart/Robert Pattinson fan reaction video to the Harvard baseball team’s cover of “Call Me Maybe.”
While we love the ones they chose they missed some of my faves, including: Tard the grumpy cat, the Dutch choir that covered Skrillex, and that epic “sneezing your head off” prank. What was your favourite video of the year?

Meanwhile in Canada, this devoted hubby did his outdoor chores in his underwear. Oh, and I should mention it was -21 C outside!!! He took out the garbage in little more than his undies, boots and a toque (because it’s the most Canadian) and made sure to hide behind the garbage can he was dragging to the curb when a car drove past.
That’s how we do in the Great White North… Finland, you understand.
Henri the Existential Cat was visited in his dreams this Noel by three distinct cats, who each had a lesson for him much like Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. First comes a young cat whom Henri deems far to simple minded to learn anything from. Next is an outdoor cat who seems to know a lot about the world. Henri learns to appreciate the small things in life such as the fact that he’s alive and he’s not a dog. Finally comes the older cat, who has taught Henri some of the most important lessons throughout the years: ”Never let them [the people] pet you. Never expose your belly. Never sit on a lap voluntarily.”
Still Henri can see in the older cat’s eyes he needs approval from humanoids and becomes even more depressed that this might be his inevitable future.
Henri is now a big star and has one a slew of awards but he’s still not letting the fame get to his head — I mean, he’s always been kind of self-righteous. The new video “The Worst Noel” isn’t very merry but it’s about as cheery as you can expect from the cat.
His previous videos include him going to the vet, warding off an admirer, and commenting on Halloween.

VitalyzdTv decided to prank innocent Floridans waiting for their bus by frantically telling them New York was hit by a tsunami that’s on its way to Florida. He pretended to be on the phone with his mom and asked strangers if they wanted to evacuate the city with him or brave Doomsday on their own. The reaction was complete panic.
The prank is funny in one way but really sad in another. These poor people must have experienced a moment of complete terror. If someone did that to me and then told me they were joking the whole time, I don’t know how I would react. Part of me would be pretty upset!

You can’t judge a movie by the trailer — especially one by Baz Luhrmann — but from what I’ve seen of his forthcoming film The Great Gatsby I’m pretty excited. The second trailer was released today (we saw the first one back in May) and it captures the glitz and glamour of the 1920s.
Leonardo DiCaprio steals the spotlight as Jay Gatsby telling Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire): “I will tell you God’s truth. God’s truth about myself. I am the son of some very wealthy people, sadly they’re all dead now.” He goes on about his extravagant lifestyle and riches. As we’re given a glimpse into the very Moulin Rouge!-esque parties that Jay hosts, Carraway says eerily: ”He had an extraordinary sense of hope. But I had the uneasy feeling that he was guarding secrets.”
The film looks visually stunning and the soundtrack, while not period specific, includes Kanye West and Florence + the Machine. It’s set to hit theatres on May 10. Are you going to see it?

These two dudes were playing their favourite video game, Assassin’s Creed, and debating over the authenticity of their character’s pain tolerance. The animated character bounds over buildings and topples gracefully to the ground into a pile of hay like it’s no biggie. Wouldn’t that hurt?! They decided to take a leap of faith — literally — and have one of them jump of the roof of their two story house to test out the theory.
The catastrophic result is what happens when you’re bored at home for the holidays. The hilarious parody video was uploaded to andrewmfilms.

The Internet was flipping out yesterday after a video was posted of a huge Golden Eagle snatching a toddler and promptly dropping the kid on the ground. As it turns out, the whole video is a hoax.
The video was shot at a park in Montreal by students at Centre NAD. The school released in a statement: “The “Golden Eagle Snatches Kid” video, uploaded to YouTube on the evening of December 18, was made by Normand Archambault, Loïc Mireault and Félix Marquis-Poulin, students at Centre NAD, in the production simulation workshop class of the Bachelors degree in 3D Animation and Digital Design.”
After it was posted, YouTube commenters were debating about whether it was real or fake. This isn’t the first hoax out of the school. Previously, students created a too-real video of a penguin escaping a zoo. One thing is for sure, these students deserve an A!

With 2012 coming close to and end, it’s safe to say that this year has been both incredible and sad. Although we are surrounded by tragic and heartbreaking news each day, people like Jean-Louis Nguyen are quick to point out that there are other things we can celebrate. Nguyen has compiled a video called “2012: What Brought Us Together” to show the ways we have been brought closer together, especially through the power of the Internet. The emotional video covers a wide range of topics including the Olympics, Grumpy Cat, the Spice Girls, and of course, Gangnam Style.
The most amazing part of the video is that while is talks specifically of events and phenomenons in 2012, it says something of every year past and present. Whatever happens to us humans, we are almost always never going through it alone (even though it can sometimes feel that way.)
Unless you’ve been living in a hole, far away in the deserts of the Australian outback, you’ve probably seen all the Facebook messages and tweets hating on Instagram’s new privacy policy.
The photo sharing service, now owned by Facebook, changed its user agreement to give broader rights to use its members’ photos in ads. Basically, they could take a photo of you running along a beach and use it to promote some hotel you’ve never been to, without any compensation to you. The chances of this happening to you are probably very slim and there are definite pros and cons to the new agreement; Instagram claims it will function better with the change.
The changes don’t take effect until Jan. 16, so you still have time to de-activate your account. Still, while many people use their Instagram for personal use, it’s practically an advertisement already for people who post photos of their new clothes, favourite drinks or a recent makeup haul.
As Instagram users, we think the new guidelines are shitty. But you have to admit some of the photos are basically ads already — at least the users themselves CHOOSE to post them.
Here are some Instagram photos that look like ads:
This girl has sooo many pairs of Keds!!

A bunch of kids had the misfortune of meeting the worst Santa Claus ever, otherwise known as Chuck Testa. You might remember him from that hilarious ad for the Ojai Valley Taxidermy in California. The infamous one-liner he used to respond to his neighbour’s qualms became a viral meme.

The kids had mixed reactions to Chuck’s Santa Claus. While many of them didn’t fall for the trick and simply pulled on his wiry beard, another immediately burst into tears. While Chuck’s deadpan reaction did little to sooth the troubled child, he did manage to get a few gift ideas from the other kids.
The sketch was put together for RhettandLink‘s hilarious Christmas special.

Bruno Mars was gifted with the most magnificent mistletoe kissing hat on Ellen today and immediately returned her gift with a juicy kiss. The “Locked Out of Heaven” singer is known for his stylish collection of hats so Ellen thought it would be a festive addition to his wardrobe.
The brim of the hat is wrapped with Christmas lights and garland, and a sprig of mistletoe bounces from the top, which in case you didn’t realize is a kissing tradition:
“Look at that,” Mars said about the hat. “This looks great, this is fashion to me.” Ellen added: ”It’s fantastic, and it’s useful. Not that you need it.”
Mars can really pull off any look… even a hat with a mini Christmas tree topper. A couple weeks ago, Ellen showed off some ugly Christmas sweaters too. She’s really got the best Christmas style.

It was only a matter of time before Tangerine Kitty’s “Dumb Ways to Die” got a zombie parody. TeddieFilms put together this hilarious parody of AMC’s The Walking Dead starring your favourite characters. Rick, Michonne and Carl all share the dumbest ways to die in a zombie-infected apocalyptic world.
Some of the ways include cutting off a leg to avoid infection and getting into fights with rival groups. The message was brought to you by those poor, brain dead “Walkers” you see roaming the grounds in the TV show.
This isn’t the first parody of the Australian PSA. So far, “Dumb Way to Die” also has an adorable Mars Rover, real life and video game edition.

Every once in a while we get a dance craze like “The Hitchhike” or “The Pony,” now rapper PROF is introducing a new move called “The Moron.” What does it entail exactly? Well, it’s an attitude more than anything else but his lyrics help us out a bit:
Shake it like a moron, girl, that’s perfect
So put your right leg in, [Leg in]
And throw your right leg out, [Leg out]
So put your right leg in. [Leg in]
Shake the motherfucker. [Good job]
So put your whole ass in, [Ass in]
And throw that whole ass out, [Ass out]
Put your whole ass in. [Ass in]
Shake the motherfucker. [Good job]
He demonstrates the choreography in the music video, which was released today. While I’m not going crazy over it, the video quickly started trending online, getting major praise from his fan group.
