LeBron who? Blake Griffin of the LA Clippers delivered the dunk of the year during last night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The announcer is right: fan’s can’t believe what they saw last night. Blake’s amazing dunk/over-handed lay-up shocked everyone, including Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey.

“That was an amazing jump. That kid is unbelievable. That dunk is one of the all time greats as far as shots I’ve seen,” Dwane said.

Fans on Twitter are also buzzing about Blake.

“That Blake Griffin dunk is inspiring me to be a better person today,” Mike Eagle wrote.

It wont be long before we see funny Blake Griffin remix videos on YouTube. That’s when you know you’ve made it, right?

Leave it to an actor to break a story before a journalist. “Parks & Recreation’s” Rob Lowe just tweeted that Colts quarterback Peyton Manning will retire this year.

How Rob Lowe discovered this story, we don’t know. But we love him for trying to keep up-to-date with all things sports.

Rob is friends with Colts owner Jim Irsay. USA Today also adds that Rob’s is the first person Irsay followed on Twitter, before the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell. So perhaps Rob just leaked some insider info without realizing it!

The Manning family, however, is claiming Rob’s tweets are incorrect. Peyton’s father Archie Manning told ESPN “he ain’t retiring. I think he would’ve told me!”

Nothing says “that was really special” like giving the girl you just slept with an autographed baseball. Apparently, that’s Derek Jeter’s way of showing his gratitude for sex.

According to the New York Post, Derek Jeter “is bedding a bevy of beauties in his Trump World Tower bachelor pad — and then coldly sending them home alone with gift baskets of autographed memorabilia.”

Imagine this ladies: after an incredibly charming date with one of the richest athletes still playing, you do the walk of shame holding a gift basket of Derek Jeter swag. The only thing missing is an “I banged Derek Jeter” t-shirt.

To add to the hilarity of this story, Jeter accidentally pulled the trick on the same girl twice. The source from the article says ”he basically gave her the same gift twice because he’d forgotten hooking up with her the first time!”

When you consider the risks of sleeping with a professional athlete, there are worse things they could give you. For example, herpes is never a good parting gift. Furthermore, I don’t think I would mind if a date left me with an adult loot bag containing thousands of dollars worth of collectables.

Not the classiest move in the world; however, the girls sleeping with Jeter probably aren’t expecting a relationship. After all, the last woman to land Jeter was Minka Kelly.

There’s a new ad for NBA 2K12 which features Michael Jordan, Drake, and fans of the Portland Trail Blazers, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks debate which NBA team was the greatest of all time.

“Today’s Miami Heat plays above the rim,” Drake argues. “Larry Bird couldn’t even reach the rim.”

Later, he elaborates: “South Beach is king.”

A final line is delivered by Jordan: “I let my ring do my talking.”

Not only can Justin Bieber sing and dance, he can also ball. Bieber had a quick game with Steve Nash recently, and Bieber schooled him.

The two Canadians had a pickup game where Justin crosses over Nash and scores. Some are arguing Nash wasn’t really trying against the 17 year old pop star. Others are saying Nash’s defense is really that bad.

Kobe Bryant is accused of assaulting a man in Church on Sunday over a cell phone picture.

According to KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, Bryant got upset after he thought the man was taking a cell phone picture of him and his wife. Bryant grabbed the phone out of the man’s hand, but didn’t find any pictures. The man is claiming his wrist was injured by Bryant.

The boy who was struck by a motorcycle that was hit by Lamar Odom’s car has passed away. The boy was from Queens, NY and was 15 years old.

As we reported earlier, Lamar was in New York to attend a funeral for his cousin. He hired a car service, and while Lamar was in the car, the vehicle struck a motorcycle. The bike was then propelled into the 15 year old boy.

The boy was rushed to hospital where he eventually succumb to his injuries. A funeral took place today.

TMZ reports sources say Lamar is “devastated” by the tragedy.

So along with being an average basketball player (let’s be honest here), Shaq is also a mob boss ordering murders.TMZ has obtained a copy of the lawsuit which makes some pretty serious allegations against Shaq.

The lawsuit has been filed by Robert Ross. The suit accuses Shaq of asking Ross to kill a gang member, a record producer, and a woman he impregnated. The suit also claims that Shaq had masterminded a plan to have Ross killed in 2008 by other gang members.

In the suit, Ross alleges, “For many years O’Neal requested and directed [Ross] to perform many personal favors and directed him to perform various tasks including, but not limited to: ordering [Ross] to kill a member of the Downtown Gangster Crips who had disrespected O’Neal in front of his wife Shaunie.”

Shaq’s lawyer, Michael J. Kump, tells TMZ … “The outlandish claims by Robert Ross in his civil complaint are pure fiction.  Shaquille O’Neal befriended Mr. Ross in an attempt to help turn his life around.  Sadly, Mr. Ross abused that friendship again and again.

Kump adds, “Shaquille’s commitment to law enforcement is well-known and documented.  He will not dignify these defamatory allegations with a response.”

We think these allegations perhaps are somewhat true but definitely exaggerated by Ross. And we also trust Larry David. If Shaq was a killer, than Larry wouldn’t have had him as guest star on Curb Your Enthusiasm. We trust Larry’s judgement of character.

Legendary wrestler Randy Savage, otherwise known as ‘Macho Man,’ has died today in a car accident in Tampa, Florida, TMZ reports.

Savage’s brother, Lanny Poffo, said Savage suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM, causing him to lose control of his vehicle.

Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median through oncoming traffic and “collided head-on with a tree.” Savage was then transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries.

His wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision  but survived with “minor injuries.” She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated.  Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

‘Macho Man’ began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase “Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh.” Savage was also the famous spokesperson for Slim Jim in the mid ’90s.

Savage survived by his new wife Lynn, whom he celebrated his 1-year anniversary with this year. Savage was 58.

NHL defenseman Matt Lashoff of the Toronto Maple Leafs is released an album, reports ChartAttack.

Lashoff will be releasing a full-length album called ‘Living On Heart,’ and you can hear clips of songs at his website.

Yahoo! Sports’ Puck Daddy has described the record as “one female midget with a ukulele away from being the most random assortment of musicians ever assembled this side of Gogol Bordello.” Basically, he’s saying it sounds all over the place, not sticking to one specific music genre.

“Most people know my day job as a hockey player, which I have more love and passion for than I can explain,” Lashoff wrote on his website. “It has given me many unbelievable experiences and has introduced me to some of the best people I know. Playing hockey has given me the opportunity to accomplish another one of my dreams since I was a child and that was to record an album. ”

“I recently found a piece of paper from when I was 10 with a list of my goals. The first as many of you could guess is to make the NHL. Within that list of around 5 things, was to record an album.”

“It makes me so proud to be able to have everyone finally listen to music, which I have written, and put my heart and soul into since I started writing songs and playing hockey. Playing guitar, and music in general, has been such a great release for me from the enduring hockey season.”

This is so random, but if he’s actually talented then it can be a pleasant surprise. I guess it’s good to diversify yourself. NHL’er Sean Avery interned at ‘Vogue,’ so why can’t Lashoff write an album?

Kobe Bryant along with other players of the L.A. Lakers have made a video encouraging tolerance of other people in a new public service announcement. This video was made after Kobe was caught making an anti-gay slur.

In the video, Kobe says, “There are all kinds of different people in the world. That’s what makes the world special.”

Kobe and his teammates continue, “So whether someone is different than you in race, ethnicity, political beliefs, religion … or sexual orientation … Words could be hurtful.”

Bryant continues, “Replace them with understanding, compassion and acceptance. Let’s make this a better world for all of us.”

In an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America Thursday, Tiger Woods said that he’s working at getting his life back on track, especially when it comes to his kids.

“It’s work, there’s no doubt,” said the golfer, who admitted last year to having multiple affairs while married to wife, Elin Nordegren.

“It’s tough. But it’s enjoyable.” On being a single father, he added, “that’s the work I love.”

Yes, this is the part where everyone rolls their eyes in an obvious ‘duh’ fashion. I don’t think there is a parent out there that would sympathize with the ‘toughness’ of Woods’ single fatherhood. He even went on with the clichéd “family’s first” bit. Oh, so it was his family he was thinking of when he was with at least 9 women who weren’t his wife?

Please, Tiger.

The interview on GMA, along with an appearance Wednesday night on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, was the first for Woods since late November 2009, when a strange car accident and rumours of Nordegren chasing Woods’ with one of his many golf clubs, triggered a chain of events that unveiled his shady private life, and ultimately – ended in divorce.

Since then Woods has been trying to focus on his two children, daughter Sam and son Charlie, who no doubt, is already following in the footsteps (the good ones) of his dad.

“Give him a stick and ball and he’s happy,” said Woods. He even went as far as to proudly call him a “little brute.”

Now as far as Google tells me, ‘brute’ means ‘animal’ or ‘beast’. I’m not sure why a father would see it fit to describe his 2-year-old son with such an adjective, but I certainly hope little Charlie will be able to control his animalistic urges when he grows up.

At least, a bit better than his father did.

As Super Bowl Sunday is basically a national holiday for Americans, what better way to celebrate the event than a low budget comedy spoof. And why not throw Matt Damon in on the bit just for fun.

Resident ESPN jokester Kenny Mayne took a visit to Greenfield, a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Penn., where Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy grew up. This is quite a coincidence of coursase  the Pittsburgh Steelers are playing the Green Bay Packers tonight.

Matt Damon appears in the skit as an over-the-top crank in his role as a high-school rival. Damon of course went to school in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is much younger than McCarthy.

Bill Murray is one of the greatest.

A lot of words could appropriately end that sentence. Actors, comedians, people, all come to the top of my mind. And now, you can add “sports fan” to that list. Well, Chicago Bears fan at least.

FilmDrunk is reporting that at last week’s NFC Championship game at Soldier Field in Chicago, Murray was in attendance and actually pushed a Packers fan when he began to cheer after a big play.

This is what the fan’s friend wrote in to BlackbookMag:

“My friend Matt Katrosar flew to Chicago last weekend to hang out with some of his Windy City pals and attend the Bears/Packers NFL playoff game. He was wearing a Green Bay jersey (in support of old-school Packers legend Ray Nitschke) amid a sea of Chicago blue. During the 2nd quarter, Matt celebrated a considerably good play on the part of Green Bay with the usual hootin’ and hollerin’ reserved for such moments. That’s when he was blatantly shoved from behind. Turning to catch a glimpse of his assailant, he discovered his pusher was none other than Bill Murray, a huge Chicago Bears fan, who was unapologetically enjoying the moment.

Matt’s friend managed to capture a photo of Murray in mid-celebration, laughing at the rival fans. Naturally, Matt wanted a picture with the legendary actor. Murray’s response to his request? ‘Nitschke is a pussy.’”

I’ve always wanted to hangout with Bill Murray, but after finding out he’s this big of an arsehole, I REALLY want to hang out with him.

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Mike Tyson just welcomed his eighth kid to the world. The baby was born to Mike’s current wife, Lahika Spicer Tyson, 32. This is their second child together, reports RadarOnline.

A source close to the couple says, “Mike and Lakiha are very happy and everyone is doing great.”

In an interview on ‘The View,’ the boxer admitted, “I’m totally destitute and broke. Yeah,I have no money.” When co-host Joy Behar asked how that was possible, given his success and endorsements, he replied, “Um, I had a lot of fun.”

And let’s not forget his fledgling acting career. Who can forget his fine performance playing himself in The Hangover? Anyways, good job Mike having another kid you obviously can’t afford. Well played!

Brandi Favre continues to have a good relationship with brother Brett Favre, reports TMZ. They are so close that she will be reaching out to Brett for help after her recent arrest.

Brandi was busted earlier this week along with 4 others in Mississippi after cops claim the group was operating a meth lab in an upscale neighborhood.

According to Richard Dymond, Brandi’s attorney, she continues to speak with Brett on “regular basis” and insists “Brandi is a good person.”

It hasn’t been the best year for Brett Favre.

He was convinced to come play another season for the Minnesota Vikings after retiring for the 722nd time, only to suffer through a terrible season of injuries, interceptions and sub-par play in general. Then he got caught sending pictures of his mini-gunslinger to Jets employee Jenn Sterger and was fined 50 grand by the NFL. Then said picture hit the Internet. Then I looked at it. Then I threw up.

On a more serious note however, trouble and scandal has once again found the Favre clan, but this time, it’s Brett’s younger sister Brandi making a splash.

TMZ is reporting that Brandi Favre was arrested Wednesday in Mississippi when a hidden methamphetamine lab was uncovered in a condo. Brandi was one of five suspects taken into custody (only after being taken to a medical centre for decontamination.)

No further details are currently known, but Brett better get down there quickly so he can throw her some bail money…which I’m sure the guards will intercept.

Recent reports have come out that Tom Brady’s recent Beiber-esque hairdos are not so much a fashion statement as they are attempts by Brady to cover up a glaring bald spot.

Well Tom, there’s an app for that, and its called Rogaine. According to TMZ.com, Rogaine wants to offer the Patriots’ quarterback some of their product absolutely free. The company released the following statement/sound piece of advice: “He shouldn’t just try and grow his hair to cover that bald spot…he should try and regrow the HAIR that belongs there!”

Rogaine apparently “wants to send Tom a free, 3-month supply of Hair Foam and Solution — the unscented, so he doesn’t get bullied by his teammates.”

I guess the folks at Rogaine feel the unscented is dignified. But the strawberry splash? Shameful. Good luck with that Tom, I don’t in anyway feel sorry for you.

Remember last August when LeBron James stuck a knife in the city of Cleveland’s back and announced on a live television special he would be abandoning them for the Miami Heat?

Well this Thursday night LeBron, Wade and the Heat are scheduled to return to Cleveland to face the Cavaliers and the hostile fans at Quicken Loans Arena. Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert has employed literally hundreds of cops to patrol the venue and make sure LeBron and his team-mates’ safety is looked after.

The question on everyones mind  is whether this game is a good thing for the NBA. The actual game is proving to be secondary and reporters and media people everywhere keep insisting on how fans will be tuning in to this game to see how the fans react, how crude the signs are, and if anything over the top will actually happen.

This is just sports. If someone in Cleveland is stupid enough to take LeBron’s departure personally and do something irresponsible and dangerous, the city’s reputation will be tarnished forever. Fans should have their fun, be creative, and let LeBron know they’re upset. Anything more than that and I wouldn’t blame LeBron if he stopped travelling to Cleveland to play.

TMZ is reporting that world-champion boxer Floyd Mayweather is facing new charges on assault with a deadly weapon, after an incident in Las Vegas last weekend.

Quincey Williams, the alleged victim of the assault, filed a police report on Monday stating that Mayweather quickly made a u-turn in his Bentley and then attempted to run Williams off the road.

The Las Vegas Review Journal has discovered that one of Mayweather’s associates, Ocie Harris, was indicted on a charge for the attempted murder of Quincey Williams back in 2009. Coincidence? That’s for you to decide. Or more likely, the jury.

Of all the deadly weapons on this planet, I think Bentleys are my favourite.
