Who: Kristen Stewart at Comic Con
Why we love it: Kristen exudes coolness with her wind-swept waves, casual T-shirt and stretch skirt. She epitomizes street style by completing her look with strategically undone high tops. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns and add vibrant pops of colour to this look. Stack your arms with bangles and you are ready for any summer festival.
Every Tuesday, Vanessa Marciano highlights the very best of Tumblr. This week, we’re not sure what we’re ogling over more, the delicious chocolate-dipped marshmallow treats or the Abercrombie models (yelp).
Shots, Shots, Shots! The Wanted are only getting started
Today marks one year since British bad boys The Wanted released their hit single “Glad You Came,” making girls scream worldwide and wonder if there’s some kind of sexual innuendo behind the lyrics. [homosykesual]
Summer Bling
Summer is all about embracing colour, so throw on some rings and you’ll have your perfect accessary for the sun. Just don’t forget your SPF! [coastal-skies]
Dream Concert
If only making fake concert tickets were as easy to get away with as using a fake ID (not that I’d know). What’s better than snagging VIP tickets to the show of the summer? [paperocean]
Mason isn’t impressed, is he?

If Internet bloggers were to have an official uniform I’m pretty sure it would partially consist of these leggings, which are printed with adorable fluffy kittens and flowers. I should know, as I obsess over and share muchos cat videos on this very website. After work, it’s not uncommon for me to further obsess over kittens in baskets and existential cats on Pinterest.
The leggings are by a brand called Pretty Snake, who funded their project by raising $5000 on Kickstarter.com. The “Kitten Garden Party Leggings” are basically the internet in a pant and they also offer similar products like the “kookoo kitty print” and the “mutant kitty print.”
I love the proposal for the leggings, which naturally includes a cameo from an apathetic, white kitten who’s clearly trying to channel Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette (a notable socialite in the feline community).
In the meantime I’m going to lobby andPOP to enforce these cat leggings as our official uniform. Kitten leggings during the cooler days and superhero shorts in the summer. Ah yeah.

TREND: Embellished collars
If there’s an opportunity to add a bit of an edge to a rather conservative piece of clothing, I’ll always take it. Embellished collars usually do the trick. Studs on a good oxford or pearls on a peter pan collar make a statement on their own. You can also wear a collar necklace if you want the same effect, without the bulk of the shirt on a hot summer’s day.

Ladies, this PSA showcases the dangers of letting your boyfriend do your makeup. It might seem like a funny idea at the time but the result is usually scary. YouTube makeup artist bubzbeauty has been with her boyfriend Tim for nine years now. After some major convincing, Tim agreed to stop playing Diablo 3 and do her makeup.
While he has good technique, his execution is a little off. Unless he was going for the clown/fairy look. Then he’s right on.
Although Katy Perry has dyed her hair MANY times, in a recent interview with UK’s Heat magazine, she cautioned fans to avoid dyeing their hair crazy rainbow colours unless they get help from a professional “I would not advise people to do that to their hair, unless they were using a professional. I had to slowly, slowly go from black to pink, which was my first crazy color. Or my hair would have fallen out. But you can always wear a wig.” Katy admitted. Wise words.
Keeping her disclaimer in mind, here are five fantastic Katy-inspired summer shades that are right in style this summer.
1. Purple — My absolute fave hair colour of Katy’s has to be purple, which she’s currently rocking. She debuted the shade at Coachella and while the colour is a bold statement, she kept her cut simple to balance it out.
2. Orange
This colour was modeled by Katy in 2011 at the Smuf premiere. The Lucille Ball-shade emphasized her 1950s retro style. Damn does any color not look good on her?!

Braids are an extremely popular way to style your hair. Whether it’s for the workplace, the beach or at a party, braids are the perfect way to make your hair look less boring.
But while you’re looking to make the dead cells growing on top your head look more interesting, here are some elaborate and weird styles worthy enough for Lady Gaga.
Because really, we don’t already struggle enough to braid our own hair!

We’re obsessed with actress Emma Stone’s Burberry striped top, ruffled pencil skirt, Jennifer Meyer jewelry and red Brian Atwood pumps, which she wore to The Amazing Spider-Man press junket in South Korea.
The fashion-forward look is perfect for the hip streets of Seoul but comes at a steep price. To channel her look, work key summer trends into your wardrobe such as stripes, vibrant hues and casual ladylike charm.

When it comes to fashion, we all have our comfort zones. Personally, I’m most relaxed in jeans and American Apparel tunics but to each their own. Katy Perry on the other hand always goes back to fruit/candy-inspired costumes.
Last night she appropriately wore a popcorn skirt while performing at her Part of Me premiere. Later, she ripped off the skirt to reveal high-waisted short shorts printed with candy-inspired fabric (everything from Hershey’s to Sour Patch Kids to Juicy Fruit were on the print).
If we go through her fashion archives, there are tons of other fuit/candy-inspired costumes. Here are some of our faves:

Trend: Tie-dye
Fashion works in cycles, so it’s no small wonder why this 90s trend is making a comeback. This time, though, it’s not all about baggy fluorescent T-shirts, unless you want it to be. Now, colour palettes are on the softer side as pastels are mixed together on just about everything — T-shirts, tank tops, shorts, etc. Tie dye also works as a great Pinterest-y, DIY project with friends and is on the wallet friendly side.

Trend: Ombré nails

Inspiration: Rihanna
While everyone seems to be dying their hair ombré (where the colour gradually changes from dark to light), for those indecisive folk, try your hand at ombré nails. It’s a lot easier to change up nail colours rather than hair colour. There are varying nail tutorials on the Internet, but the sponge technique seems to the be the easiest. It may seem hard at first, but practice makes perfect!

So much HAWTNESS at the MTV Movie Awards last night. But I appreciate the misses too because at least those celebs are taking a fashion risk. Otherwise it’s just plain boring, right?
Winners:
Peplum: Emma Stone & Charlize Theron
Both Emma Stone and Charlize Theron pulled off peplum looks. Theron wins by a thread because her striking red Lanvin dress complements her skin tone perfectly and is a little more fun for the MTV Movie Awards. But Stone won the trailblazer award so you know whatever look she touches is golden.
Vintage-inspired T’s: Wiz Khalifa
Wiz Khalifa wore a Joan Jett shirt (above) and sunglasses indoors because duh! I’m not sure if he’s wearing the top ironically but I NEED. It looks comfortable plus he’s paying respects to one of rock’s legends.
Sneakers: Kristen Stewart

K-Stew always steals my heart because she manages to be fashionable without sacrificing her comfort or individuality. Some old school designers might cringe (Sacrebleu!) at the sight of her sneakers but personally I think she manages to pull them off. Of course, she didn’t change into the sneakers until after the red carpet because her stylist would have died. Love the Guishem dress too.

Kanye West is no mere rapper. He’s a film director, musician, fashion designer, tweeter, and boyfriend of Kim Kardashian. He is basically attempting to try out every profession in THE WORLD (before full domination).
His latest foray in the design world was creating his own pair of strange new sneakers called the Nike Air Yeezy II that the Internet is comparing to shoe dragons (whatever those might be). They have weird, bumpy scales on the side and are curved at the bottom like Kangoos.
The sneakers are the second collaboration Kanye has done with Nike and they’ll be released on June 9. I’m no shoe connoisseur, though I’m told there are collectors who hoard expensive sneakers and perhaps look at them from afar.
What does everyone think of them?

The ever stylish Portia Balada highlights two trends that should be on your radar. This weekend, why not throw on some coloured jeans (they’re not that scary we promise) with some heeled sneakers? Of course, not all styles are undeniable hits and we can’t help but wonder WTF wedding Uggs are.
Coloured jeans

Inspiration: Kate Middleton
If you’re hesitant to throw on a pair of printed pants à la Kristen Stewart at Cannes, simple, coloured jeans are an easy fashion fix. They barely deviate from your favourite ‘jeans and a tee’ combo and provide a pop of colour. To keep yourself from looking like a rubix cube, try some pastel coloured jeans in hues like aqua or peach. Just make sure your jeans aren’t too tight. As if we don’t have enough to worry about, doctors are now saying tight jeans can cause meralgia paraesthetica, which causes numbness when the nerves in your legs are compressed. The solution? Make sure your coloured jeans or jeggings are made of stretch fabric.

I know fashion is all about taking the risks but sometimes I can’t help but wonder if certain celebrities own mirrors. Then again, it’s Hollywood, home of the crazies for the crazies! I’m all for strange fashions but some celebrity trends can be a bit scary (pointy black nails) or a little flashy (mirrored-cars). I guess it’s my job to keep you all in check and show you the top five worrisome trends in Hollywood. Proceed with caution.
1) Pointy black nails
Who: Rihanna, Lady Gaga
This beauty trend reminds me of The Wicked Witch of the West. Rihanna sported these black nails at the MET Gala on May 7 while wearing a Tom Ford black crocodile like skin dress. At least they can double as self defence weapons right?
2) Reflective cars
Who: Justin Bieber, Scott Disick
Like celebrities need to draw more attention to themselves when they go out. Right? Recently, stars like Justin Bieber and Scott Disick have decided to wrap their already expensive cars with chrome. Justin turned his Audi R8 into a mirror on wheels while Kim Kardashian tweeted from her sister’s baby daddies car “Who needs a mirror when I’m driving @scottdisick’s car!?!” You just know it’s a great trend when the Kardashians are also following it (did you get my sarcasm?).
3) Unbuttoned jeans Read more…
The Grammys are known for outlandish “I can’t believe you went there fashions” and this year was no disappointment. These head-scratchers are among the best-worst fashions of the night, though their artistic message is up to you.
1) Sasha Gradiva wore a weapon-sleeve with her pink strapless dress. On Twitter, she said the look was meant to remind people to stand up for world peace and use weapons for artistic purposes only — ie her dress.
2) Nicki Minaj was escorted to the Grammys by a Pope impostor and dressed as a Cardinal-esque Little Red Riding Hood. Clearly, the Versace outfit was the only fitting option to prepare us for her later exorcism, which was successfully completed during her performance of “Roman Holiday.” What else would she wear for the occasion? French pop star Shy’m stepped out on the red carpet at the 2012 NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France dressed in a transparent corset.
Who is Shy’m? Has anybody heard of her before? Why does she spell her name all funny? Apparently she’s a big deal in France. All her singles reach the top 10 charts.
And what are the NRJ Music Awards anyways? What does it stand for? I’d look this up but I’m obviously too distracted by her ridiculous outfit. Who gets away with this type of look? It looks like she got attacked by a polar bear in her dressing room.
Amber Rose called. She wants her trashy look back. There’s more photos of the biggest fashion flop over at Buzzfeed.

If you’re like me and just watch prestigious award shows simply for the fashion, the SAG Awards did not disappoint! So many different colours, styles and legs for days.
The Screen Actor Guild Awards aren’t as hyped as the Globes or the Oscars but it always delivers in the eye candy department. Those who win the Best Actor/Best Actress at the SAGs almost always go on to win the Oscar, too.
But enough about the logistics. Let’s focus on what really matters: who looks the best on the red carpet. You can browse through all the different looks here.
5. Sofia Vergara

4. Rose Byrne

3. Lea Michele

After the massive popularity of Disney Princesses on magazine covers, the Petite Tiaras Tumblr page has turned their attention to men.
The post features a few of your favourite Disney Princes on popular men’s magazines. Someone has craftily photoshopped the front covers of GQ, Men’s Journal, Esquire and Vogue with leading men from The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.
The princes are posing beside hilarious editorials will headlines like: “Ariel Spills About Her Brand New Beau ” and “How To Look Your Best at The Next Ball.”
It’s not a bad idea, considering these fictional characters are the blueprint for what every women looks for in a man. GQ might want to consider printing one of these, after all, very few women can say no to Prince Charming.

What a night it was at the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards. Ricky Gervais was back to host the show but kept his crude jokes to a minimum this time. It was a big night for the cast and crew of the film “The Artist” and the t.v. show “Homeland”; both won big in their categories.
It was also a big night for these five leading ladies because their gowns have landed them on my top 5 best dressed list.
5. Kelly Osbourne

4. Jessica Alba

3. Emma Stone

2. Julianne Moore

1. Kate Beckinsale

Honourable mention: Uggie (“The Artist”)
