It looks like we won’t be seeing Shailene Woodley’s version of Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man 2 after all. Director Mark Webb decided to cut the character from the movie and instead hopes to focus on a different plotline that is supposedly quite shocking.
“I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason,”Shailene told Entertainment Weekly. ”MJ only appeared in a few scenes and I wouldn’t trade the experience of working with Andrew and Emma for three days on set for the world. Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off on introducing MJ until the next film.”
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to premiere on May 2, 2014 with “Adorable Couple Of The Year” Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone reprising their roles. They will be joined on-screen by Jamie Foxx, Sally Field and Paul Giamatti.
Fear not, Shailene Woodley fans! The one of the many YA novel adaptations she’s been working on, The Spectacular Now, will arrive in theatres August 2nd.

Be honest, as a kid, how often did you think how cool it would be if LEGO were turned into a movie? Well, it’s finally happened and I can’t help but get a little nerdy about it.
When ordinary LEGO minifigure Emmet (voiced by Parks and Recreations’ Chris Pratt) falls victim to mistaken identity, he finds himself a part of an elite team of superheroes on a mission to save the universe. Everything falls on Emmet’s shoulders after an evil LEGO villain threatens to glue the universe together. He must become the team’s MasterBuilder in order for the team to accomplish their mission.
Along with Chris Pratt, the movie stars some pretty big names: Will Ferrell is President Business, Morgan Freeman voices Vitruvious, Liam Neeson is the Bad Cop, Community’s Allison Brie as Uni-Kitty and Arrested Development’s Will Arnett as Batman. The LEGO Movie is set to be released next year, February 7, 2014 and will be in 3D. That’s double the awesome!
It’s been 12 years since audiences first laid eyes on Monsters Inc.’s top scaring duo, Mike Wazowski and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan. Lucky for us, the mismatched pals are will return to the silver screen this Friday but this time, they’ll be looking a little brighter, a little thinner and overall, just a little bit younger.
Because instead of going beyond that moment when a pigtailed little girl changed their world, animation powerhouse Pixar wanted to turn the clocks back to a time before that fateful door, to a time before Mike and Sulley became the scaring team to beat, and before they were even friends. Pixar wanted to go back to university. Monsters University, that is.
“We love the relationship [between Mike and Sulley] and that’s where we started thinking about how these guys met,” explained Monsters University’s director Dan Scanlon during a conference call back in April. “… [It] led naturally to the college idea and we loved the idea of doing something in university.”

While monsters and higher learning don’t necessarily add up (would the bogeyman still be scary if we knew he failed math?), the Pixar team wanted to make Mike and Sulley’s college experiences feel relatable even if the students were 100 times hairier than normal.
“The opportunity for sort of fun monster antics that could come out of [going to university] led us to the story of Mike and the difficulty of arriving at college thinking you’re the best of the best. [But] then you come against some pretty stiff competition,” Scanlon said. “That was really the germ of the idea.”
This adorable man behind Avengers bad boy Loki is so damn polite that he blames his popularity on Loki’s leather outfits. Don’t sell yourself short, Tom! The Thor: The Dark World star deserves all the love of Hiddleston’s Army for being incredibly talented and kind from the start (looks don’t hurt either).
He could pass for a British Justin Timberlake
Thomas William Hiddleston was born in London, England on February 9, 1981. It’s a shame the world wasn’t aware of his acting chops during his time studying drama at Eton College, Cambridge University and London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art – there definitely would’ve been a huge Save The Fro campaign just like we tried (and failed) with JT.
He played rugby
Tom isn’t just a huge rugby fan, he was also a player in his Cambridge days! In an interview with the Society of London Theatre, Tom revealed the exact moment he knew he had to give up sports for acting. “I ran off and played this rugby game and at half time [the captain] came up to me. . .I’d turned up caked in ridiculous student drama make up!”
If time-travelling was a very real possibility (it may be and no one is telling us about it), then Troy from High School Musical is really the younger version of everyone’s favourite corrupt choreographer, Bring It On’s Sparky Polarstri.
Or, at the very least, Troy Bolton was very into Bring It On and couldn’t help but steal a couple of moves.

This Is The End not only has the most ridiculous cast and celebrity cameos (Rihanna! Mindy Kaling! Aziz Ansari!), but we’re going to assume it’s also going to have the best filmatic deaths ever to grace the big screen. To help celebrate the movie’s release, here’s a bingo card to help you keep track of all the craziness bound to happen during James Franco’s botched-thanks-to-the-apocalypse house party.

Watching movies on TV is not the same as watching them on DVDs. There’s always the pesky editing that tries to fit commercials into your beloved film. When it comes to curse words, the censors usually have some pretty interesting ways to clean up the scene, but this TV censor of Snakes on a Plane is just ridiculous.
Instead of Samuel L. Jackson cursing up a storm, the editors had him say some rather colourful lines instead. Apparently he’s tired of “these monkey fighting snakes on this Monday to Friday plane.”
Two things: first, I immediately started questioning who would win in a fight between a monkey and a snake. I have my money on the monkey seeing as they have experience in flinging things. Secondly, does this plane only fly Monday to Friday? What happened to Saturday and Sunday?
On the bright side, since the film is pretty bad, I guess it made it a bit more interesting to watch in the end.
Justin Timberlake is giving us just another reason to swoon over him in the trailer for his new movie Runner Runner.
The movie follows poor college student Richie Furst (Timberlake) who cracks an online poker game only to learn that he was actually cheated in the process. It’s when he meets the man behind the game (Ben Affleck) does Furst fall into an action-packed sequence of events.
Runner Runner is set to hit theatres September 27.
Jennifer Lawrence is a busy girl. Between kicking butt as Katniss Everdeen and winning all the awards for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, she has somehow found the time to work on a film of her own.
Lawrence will both star and produce in the adaption of Rules of Inheritance, a memoir by Claire Bidwell Smith. The film is based on a a young woman who finds herself in the process of losing her family.
Lawrence will team up with Susanne Bier, the director who also worked on the starlet’s other upcoming period drama Serena (which also features her Silver Linings Playbook co-star, Bradley Cooper).
Lawrence is currently filming X-Men: Days of Future Past. Fans of the 22-year-old can also look forward to American Hustle, where she teams up with her Silver Linings Playbook direction, David O. Russell, and co-star, Cooper (yet again).
Lawrence will also have to find the time to film both parts of the last book in the Hunger Games series, Mockingjay. Does she ever sleep?!
Thus far, Rules of Inheritance has not been given an expected release date. But movie fans don’t have to wait very long to see her next: Serena premieres on September 27, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on November 22.
Selena Gomez is a badass in the trailer for her latest flick Gateaway! Selena stars as Ethan Hawke’s accomplice in this action packed thriller.
In Getaway, Ethan Hawke plays a race car driver who is given orders by an anomoyous man who has kidnapped his wife. Gomez’ character gets roped into the drivers mission, and it’s all chaos, car chases, near death experiences, and special effects from that point forward.
I can’t wait to see Gomez kick some butt, and act alongside a seasoned actor like Hawke.
Getaway will be released in theatres on August 30.
The movie business is a serious business. But during their down time, it’s all fun and laughs for the actors. Check out these behind-the-scenes photos of actors laughing and having fun on set.

Having just watched Epic, I can indeed tell you that it lives up to its title. Like any good movie, was the music made the whole film so much better.
She not only lent her voice for the film (she’s Queen Tara), Beyoncé also got in the studio to record ”Rise Up” for the soundtrack. The song was written with Sia and produced by Hit-Boy and Chase N Cashe and will leave you feeling inspired.

When Parks and Recreations’ Aubrey Plaza crashed Will Ferrell’s acceptance speech at the MTV Movie Awards back in April, she had the words “#The To Do List” sprawled all over her chest. No, it wasn’t just any random hashtag. It was the title of Plaza’s new coming-of-age movie The To Do List.
Luckily for us, we don’t have to wait to see why she thought crashing Ferrell’s speech was a good idea as the film’s red band trailer has just been released!
Plaza stars as high school graduate, Brandy, who hopes to lose her virginity, more specifically with the resident hottie Rusty Waters, before heading off to college. In an efforts to “educate” herself, she writes up a “to do” list of various sexual acts: “Tea-bagging. It must be British” (Oh dear).
The movie stars also stars Rachel Bilson (Hart of Dixie), Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live), Andy Samberg (he of SNL and The Lonely Island fame), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) and Donald Glover (Community), just to name a few.
The To Do List is out July 26.
Just in case you weren’t up for watching This Is The End, starring everyone who’s been in a Judd Apatow movie, here are two clips featuring everyone’s favourite witch, Emma Watson.
Watson finds the gang at James Franco’s house where they begin to throw out theories of what’s actually happening in the outside world? Is it a zombie invasion? Is it the impending apocalypse? Who knows!
We might find out once This Is The End hits theatres June 12.
WATCH EMMA WATSON IN THIS IS THE END BELOW:
Whether he’s fighting evil exes as Scott Pilgrim or crushing on his cousin in Arrested Development, Michael Cera never fails at being adorkable. Maybe he’s born with it, maybe it’s—nope, he was definitely born with it. Check out these highlights from his kiddie acting days to see what I mean…
He grew up on Ghostbusters
Michael Austin Cera was born on June 7, 1988, in Brampton, Ontario. He got his first acting lesson at the age of three after falling in love with the classic 80′s comedy Ghostbusters. “I realised that these guys were playing a game and it was a job that you could have.”
He auditioned non-stop
Any other 90′s kids remember that Pillsbury cookie monster commercial? Watch it again, cause Michael Freaking Cera was there all along! Despite the cute ad, Michael had no luck on 200 other commercial auditions. Moving on to comedy roles would change everything. . .
He sassed it up in an Olsen Twins movie
I’ve been reading a lot of stories online lately pinning women against other women and I’m sick of it. It’s time to support and celebrate female friendships, especially on June 8, which just happens to be Best Friends Day.
Curl up with your BFFs and a bag of extra buttery popcorn this weekend, and indulge in a weekend-long BFF movie marathon. And I mean the BEST of best friend movies.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
An introverted freshman named Charlie is introduced to a whole new world in high school by his new besties. He copes with his first love and tries to come to terms with a dark secret from his past. The film stars Logan Lerman, Ezra Miller and Emma Watson. Read the book first so you and your bestie can compare the case and screenplay to what you imagined while you were reading.
Now and Then
Remember when summers used to tick by sooo slowly and all you relied on was your imagination for entertainment? Four childhood friends unite as troubled adults in this coming of age story that has an eerie Nancy Drew quality to it. Set in 1970, these 12-year-olds conduct a séance to find out how a young boy called Dear Johnny was killed in their neighborhood. With death, divorce, young love and an unbelievable cast (Demi Moore, Melanie Griffith, Thora Birch, Christina Ricci and Rosie O’Donnell), you and your friends will yearn for your younger years, reminiscing about the crazy stuff you dreamed up as a kid. Oh, and it also has one of the coolest biking scenes in the history of the world that I always want to replicate.
Whip It!
Probably featuring some of the most badass, unapologetic women on the list — both in the movie AND real life —Whip It! follows an indie-loving misfit who dashes her mom’s hopes of pageant glory by joining a roller derby league in Austin, Texas. Drew Barrymore directs and costars with leading lady Ellen Page, Kristen Wiig and Juliette Lewis. This shy teen discovers she doesn’t have to explain why she wants to dye her hair blue, swear like a pirate, or hip check a competitor on the rink. Her friends just get her.

Like any big blockbuster film, Iron Man 3 had its flaws. I mean, why didn’t the President of the United States just use the Iron Patriot suit to free himself? And why didn’t Tony Stark activate the party protocol before? Anyways, HISHE does a better job at picking at the movie as they show you how Iron Man 3 should have ended.
On the bright side, at least we can say Robert Downey Jr. was as badass as usual.
Percy Jackson fans, rejoice! The new trailer for the upcoming sequel is out and it looks amazing.
Following the first film which was a huge hit with fans, the movie follows Percy, Annabeth and the rest of the gang as they set off on an adventure as they must stop an ancient evil from rising in order to save the magical tree that protects Camp Half-Blood. The only way to do this is to find the Mythical Golden Fleece at the Sea of Monsters.
The movie will be out this summer on August 7 in 3D and brings back the original cast with Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, Sean Bean and also has Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog‘s Nathan Fillion as Hermes.
The only thing better than a really great movie is a really awesome dance number in said movie.
Backed by Men With Hats’ “The Safety Dance,” the YouTube video is a compilation of some of the most memorable dance numbers in film. From Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Dancing in the Rain, Mean Girls to Bridesmaids, the video is a mixture of a lot of the classics with some newer titles.
Ending with a scene from Scrubs where Christopher and Carla discuss what class to put their kid in as he votes for dance and she says sports he erupts into “The Safety Dance” to prove a point (gosh, I miss that show).
The video is pretty genius but am I the only one who thinks the dance scene in A Knight’s Tale and She’s All That deserved a spot in this?
Check out the cool five faction symbols from of the movie adaptation of Divergent!
Divergent, the film based on the novels by Veronica Roth, is set in a future where people are divided based on their personalities into factions. The film will follow Iris Prior (Shailene Woodley) who is warned that she is a Divergent, meaning she will not fit into any faction. She goes on to learn of a plot to destroy all Divergents. Prior sets out on an adventure to figure out what makes being Divergent so dangerous, before she is killed.
The factions kind of remind me of the houses from Harry Potter…come on, I can’t be the only one who made the connection.
The film also stars Miles Teller, Kate Winslet, Theo James, Ansel Eglort, and Zoe Kravitz will be released March 21st, 2014.
