Before the event with Jeremy Piven, our editor here at andPOP told me to “hug it out” with the “Entourage” star. Piven didn’t get a hug from me, but it’s okay because he got more than just a hug from someone else (see photo).
On Thursday (June 30), Piven made an appearance at the Rogers Centre in Toronto to become an honourary team member of the Argonauts.
With a wide grin, Piven told reporters he’s a huge sports fan, saying this is “the closest I’ll ever come” to being a football player. A jersey with the actor’s name was presented to him by Quarterback Kerry Joseph, Defensive Tackle Adriano “The Kissing Bandit” Belli and Vice Chair Michael “Pinball” Clemons.
Today was a monumental day in the careers of everyone at andPOP – the day we met Jeremy Piven. I don’t think as a group collectively we all have been so excited to produce an interview. The good news is Jeremy’s a really friendly dude who was very receptive to your friends at andPOP. His movie The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard is hilarious and he even gave us an exclusive into the rest of Season 6 of Entourage. Check back tomorrow night to see the footage. Also check out the restricted trailer for The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard thanks to Funny or Die.
Weeks ago, former Panic! At The Disco guitarist Ryan Ross and Jon Walker left the band to go off and do their own thing, leaving remaining members Spencer Smith and Brendon Urie to search for a guitar and a bass player to perform an upcoming tour.
Since the band is set to carry out Bink-182 tour dates, they needed a new guitarist and drummer. Ian Crawford will be replacing Ross on guitar, while singer/songwriter Dallon Weekes will be playing bass for Panic!
“Yeah, we’ve taken on a couple of new guys for the tour. They’re friends, so the decision was easy. Plus, we’re really excited to play with them as musicians,” Smith told MTV News. “Ian is probably the most talented guitar player that me and Brendon have ever played with, and Dallon is a really nice guy and a really great bassist. It’s new. Like I said, we’re really excited.”

Just like many “Twilight” fans out there, Rachelle Lefevre — the Canadian who plays the evil red-headed vampire in “Twilight” and “New Moon” — was just as shocked to find out her character Victoria has been recast.
“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for ‘Eclipse,’ ” said Lefevre in a statement released Wednesday (July 29). The statement was released less than 24 hours after Summit Entertainment announced the Canadian actress would be replaced by “Lady in the Water” star Bryce Dallas Howard in the third “Twilight” installment.
The cast from “The Hills” (minus Lauren Conrad) is set to return to the small screen on September 29 at 10 p.m. on MTV, according to MTV News.
This upcoming season will mark the return of Kristin Cavallari to MTV. However, the show will return with familiar faces, including Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt and Lo Bosworth.
