We Were Once a Fairytale was shown at the LA film festival in August, and was intended for A September 8th iTunes release, but it made its international debut on Monday, Oct.19.
The release comes less than a week after the premier of Spike Jonze’s fantastical big-screen rendition of Where the Wild Things Are. This may alleviate some confusion over the video’s bizarreness.
The short film parallels the tone of West’s 808s and Heartbreak album. It’s strange and even boring at first, but when you understand its direction, you understand its art. It’s dark but ultimately moving…not to mention catchy as hell.
New legislation from the Obama government is urging American prosecutors to crack down on violent marijuana dealing circles, rather than reprimanding those who legally buy and sell the drug.
Fourteen states in America have legalized the selling and smoking of medicinal marijuana, which is where the new policy will be enforced.
According to My Way News, two Justice Department officials say the legislation will encourage prosecutors to avoid wasting their time pursuing people who comply with state laws to provide medical marijuana. However those using medical marijuana to cover other crimes will still be under scrutiny.
The Bush administration enforced federal anti-pot laws across all states, regardless of the individual state laws in Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.
Dispensaries - that is, stores selling marijuana (similar to the ones you see in Weeds) - are common California, and Colorado is catching up. Rhode Island and New Mexico are currently working to provide licenses to some businesses, according to My Way News.
To promote their latest album, Chinese Democracy, Guns N’ Roses will tour Canada in January, reports CBC.
The first show will be in Winnipeg on Jan. 13. The band will also perform in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Hamilton, Ont., London, Ont., Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City, Halifax and Moncton, N.B.
The band will also tour Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.
Beyonce has postponed a concert scheduled in Malaysia next week due to criticism by some Islamic extremists who deem her clothing and choreography to be too provocative, reports Perez Hilton. Members of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party said they thought the show would be immoral and promote “Western sexy performances.”
Event promoters said the show would be rescheduled for a future date.
Justin Timerberlake’s mom, Lynn Harless, told E! News she thinks the woman her son is with is awesome. “He’s found someone that’ll golf with him, give him a hard time when he deserves it and stand up to him,” she said.

Seth Meyers, head writer for NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, said he was pleased with the fresh material provided by President Barack Obama, reports CBC.
“I was here for the eight years of the Bush era,” said Meyers, who joined the cast in 2001 after doing improvisational theatre in Chicago. “While it started fun, it got a little redundant for a lot of comedians. Anything new is great for us. That being said, you need to get to know someone before you can poke fun at them and we’re getting to know Obama more. The trickiest thing with Obama is he has a great sense of humour, he’s so self-aware and he may beat comedians to the punchline.”

DMX turned a charity concert into a riot this weekend when he arrived late for his scheduled performance and then proceeded to fight the security guards. After showing up nearly 90 minutes late for his set, DMX got into a shoving match in front of the stage with the security guards. Fans quickly joined the hubbub, pushing and chanting “DMX! DMX!”
Once he made it on stage, the sound system was turned off to keep him from performing.
The event promoters, American Charities, told fans DMX was not coming when he hadn’t arrived by 9:30 p.m., the time he was supposed to take the stage. Instead, DMX traipsed in at 11:00 expecting to perform.
Lindsay Lohan responded to her father’s threats to more or less kidnap her by reportedly requesting a restraining order against him.
It all started when Lindsay Lohan made headlines for being reprimanded by the courts for not completing her alcohol awareness courses. Michael Lohan decided he was going to try to get his daughter in line.
“I’m going to see the judge this week – I can’t believe they didn’t drug test Lindsay when she went into court. If I can’t get a conservatorship, then I’m going to take her to an undisclosed location and get her straight. But I know I’m gonna get charged w/ kidnapping. Lindsay doesn’t even know; she thinks she’s herself but with all these prescription drugs and other stuff,” Michael Lohan said according to Perez Hilton.
Now Lindsay Lohan is saying she is scared of her father and wants to request a restraining order, according to People.com.
