Lisa Gabrielle Tucker is an American singer, musical theater actress, and was the tenth-place finalist on the fifth season of American Idol.
Lisa Tucker was raised in Anaheim, California. Her parents are Stanley and Eleanor Tucker, and she is of African-American and Belizean descent. She starred as "Young Nala" in the Los Angeles production of Disney's The Lion King when she was 10 years old. At 13 years old, Lisa successfully auditioned for Star Search, eventually making it to the finals. She became the runner up to Tiffany Evans. She has performed at numerous city events in Anaheim such as the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast and Flag Day events. Tucker is currently a senior at Kennedy High School in La Palma, California. Her Idol profile revealed that Tucker plays electric guitar and is a Jimi Hendrix fan.
In 2005, she auditioned for the fifth season of American Idol in Denver, Colorado with a song she also sang on Star Search, "One Moment In Time" by Whitney Houston. Judge Simon Cowell said she was the best 16 year-old to ever audition for the show. Later, the judges made a unanimous decision to put her through to the season's final 24.
On the March 15, 2006 results show, she was in the bottom 3 along with Melissa McGhee and Ace Young but was not eliminated and returned the following week. Tucker was in the bottom 3 again along with Kevin Covais and Bucky Covington on March 22, but returned again. She was finally eliminated on March 29, 2006, after being in the bottom three with Katharine McPhee and Ace Young.
