Anyone out there who has a love for music or a soft-spot for vinyl will certainly want to check out Record Store Day this Saturday, April 18th. Hundreds of independently owned music stores across the United States will be celebrating, and you should be too.

On this day independent music stores join as one to celebrate that which enriches our culture and our souls everyday: music. Many Universal Music Group artists will be releasing special vinyl, CD’s and promotional products exclusively for Record Store Day. Josh Holloway Has A Daughter

Lost’s Josh Holloway and wife Yessica welcomed a daughter on April 9 in Oahu, PEOPLE reported. They named their daughter Java Kumala Holloway.

PEOPLE reports that a source told them that “Dad and Mom are absolutely thrilled,” and that “Everyone’s happy and healthy.” The couple has been married since 2004 and this is their first child.

Holloway’s co-star Daniel Dae Kim said “When you talk to him about his baby, his face completely lights up.” Kim believes he will be a fantastic father.

Mel Gibson Discusses Divorce In Church

Mel Gibson attended Mass at the Roman Catholic church he had built in 2005 this past Sunday. His wife was nowhere to be found. “Well,” he was overheard saying, “she’s filed for divorce.” PEOPLE reports.

Last Thursday his wife of 28 years, Robyn Gibson, signed divorce papers seeking joint custody over their 9 year old son Thomas. Apparently the couple has been officially separated since August 26, 2006, about a month after he was charged with a DUI. He started sobering up after his roadside incident in which he made anti-Semitic remarks that he later apologized. Robyn’s divorce paper says the date of separation as “to be determined.”

Gibson and his wife attended church together on Palm Sunday, just four days before Robyn signed the divorce papers, PEOPLE reports. In addition to Thomas, the Gibson’s have six older children: Milo, 19, Louis, 21, William, 24, twins Edward and Christian, 26, and daughter Hannah, 28.

Lindsay Lohan Gets a New Tattoo

In light of her recent breakup, 22 year old Lindsay Lohan decided it was time for something new in her life.

PEOPLE reports that a source saw the new tat which is a Marilyn Monroe quote tattooed in cursive on her inner-wrist. Monroe’s full quote is: “Everyone’s a star and deserves the right to twinkle.” The wording is also surrounded by stars.

It is clear that the star idolizes Monroe. Last year, she recreated Monroe’s famous nude 1962 photo shoot for New York Magazine. She told the publication at the time that Monroe was a “prime example of what this industry can do to someone.”

A source told PEPOLE that Lohan is struggling with the split. “She feels alone. All of their mutual friends have turned on her; she’s 22 but this would be tough to handle at any age.”

However another source said that the star is holding her own just fine. “She’s being painted as this victim, but she’s not,” that source says. “She’s a strong girl.”

Britney Spears’ successful Circus tour may be heading very south.

Representatives of the singer and father Jamie discussed in court today possibly taking taking Spears’ tour to Australia. Nothing was decided yet. Another court date has been set for April 14. E! reports.

The Circus Starring Britney Spears continues in Edmonton tonight, then continues to Vancouver before heading along the West Coast. Currently, Spears’ hits London June 3rd, where they’ll perform 8 sold out shows, and then wraps up June 17th in Manchester.

Lindsay Lohan Needs Time

E! News reports that Linsday Lohan officially announced that her and girlfriend Samantha Ronson are on a break. Lohan tells E! that the decision was made Monday after a less than pleasant weekend with the DJ. The 22-year-old was not granted entrance into a Ronson family party on Friday. Ronson’s family members are supposedly to be blamed for these recent rumours for convincing the DJ that Lohan was “an outcast and a bully, or a wacko.”

The couple had nearly been together for a year now. Ronson wrote on her Myspace Monday, “Aura in pleasanton is very pleasant.”

Chris Brown Arraignment Soon Approaching

Chris Brown is due to be arraigned shortly on felony charges of assault with when he allegedly physically attacked girlfriend Rihanna in February, E! reports.

The 19-year-old singer initially requested a postponement at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles on March 5th. The judge told brown not to “annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone.”

Brown’s lead attorney Mark Geragos, has been busy trying to arrange a plea deal with prosecutors that would prevent Brown from going to jail. His maximum sentence would be four years and eight months in prison if found guilty on both charges. Rihanna returned home to Barbados late last week. Members of the media crowded anxiously outside the courthouse awaiting those involved in the case.

Casting calls for the next America’s Next Top Model season last month took an unexpected frightening turn when multiple fights broke out while hundreds waited for an audition. But producers are holding another audition coming up in New York.

The auditions will take place April 11. Like the earlier call, producers are looking for women age 18-27, who are 5’7″ and under – and from diverse backgrounds. As a safety concern, new rules state that nobody is allowed to line up overnight or before 6 a.m. on the day of. Prospective models will also be given wristbands while waiting. Tyra Banks issued a statement after the chaos at the March 14 casting that resulted in two people being taken to the hospital. PEOPLE reports. “To all the Top Model hopefuls who were affected by the New York casting, we are doing everything we can to make sure that ALL the girls who weren’t seen, get an opportunity to audition,” Banks said.

Jade Goody’s Sons Will Not Attend Funeral

British reality TV star Jade Goody is expected to draw thousands of mourners as well as the media this Saturday. However her young sons will not be present.The two young boys, Bobby, 5, and Freddy, 4, are being taken on a trip to Australia by their father, TV presenter Jeff Brazier. On March 22nd at the age of only 27 Goody died from a highly publicized case of cancer.

PEOPLE reports that singer Michael Jackson has sent his condolences to Goody’s mother, Jackiey Budden, and Goody’s husband Jack Tweed.

“He sent a message saying Jade was a ‘very brave girl.’ Jackson added “You must be very proud of her and what she achieved, that so man lives will be saved because of her,” says family spokesman Max Clifford according to PEOPLE. “He sent them his condolences and said that he will be sending flowers for the funeral this weekend.”

Pete Wentz says Marital Problems Rumours are False

Last week gossip sites were filled with rumors that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson’s marriage was “on the rocks” due to the bassist’s busy schedule.

However on Friday, Wentz and Simpson happily kissed onstage at the Australian Video Music Awards. “Sorry, we haven’t seen each other in a while,” Simpson told the audience. “We’re going to find a quiet place to fornicate.”

MTV reports that Wentz emailed them about the rumors that his marriage was in trouble, calling them “nonsense” and telling his fans to consider the source of rumours before believing them.

“We’re still going steady. She’s still wearing my letterman jacket,” he wrote. “And you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the Internet. It’s nonsense.”

Fox has announced casting for a new possible reality show called More to Love in which “average” women will compete for the attention of a man producers describe as a “Kevin James-type” PEOPLE reports. Mike Darnell, Fox’s president of alternative programming said “For six years it’s been skinny-minis and good-looking bachelors, and that’s not what the dating world looks like,” says Darnell. An official date has not been set for the show.

Josh Hartnett Sent to Hospital With Stomach Pains

Actor Josh Hartnett was staying at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood when he began complaining of abdominal pain a little before 2 a.m. Monday. PEOPLE reports that a rep said he was able to walk into the ambulance himself. It was reported that the pain turned out to be a flare up of an ongoing gastrointestinal problem that has been bothering him for the last several months while he was performing in London in the stage version of Rain Man. According to his rep he is resting and under the observation of doctors.

Actress and mother to 1-year-old Nahla Ariela tells Ellen DeGeneres on her show that she does want another child, but is not up for a huge family. “I hope I don’t have like 14 more,” says Berry. Although the star doesn’t rule out having more kids in her future, and neither does model Gariel Aubry, father to their 1 year old. He told PEOPLE in February that Nahla “needs a sibling.” And, unlike Berry, he doesn’t limit the numbers. Said the man who comes from a family of 8, “I believe in big families.”

Jade Goody Raises Cancer Awareness

Since the tragic death of British reality TV show star Jade Goody, cancer organizations have reported an increase in women inquiring about effects and testing of cancer. Goody was diagnosed with cervical cancer which is curable if caught early. PEOPLE reports that friend and publicist Max Clifford said “Her legacy will be that a lot of women owe their lives to Jade Goody because of her public announcement and battle against cervical cancer.”

It has been reported that there has been as much as a 30% increase in women being tested. Cancer Research UK, Britain’s largest cancer charity, gives Goody credit for an increase in awareness about the disease. Goody has certainly left a positive impact on women everywhere.

An Injured Steve Wozniak Will Perform

The Dancing With The Stars contestant has a second injury but he won’t be leaving the ballroom anytime soon. “Steve Wozniak pulled his hamstring but is expected to perform tonight,” a rep for the ABC reality show told Access Hollywood on Monday. Wozniak is also suffering from a fractured foot. Last week, him and his partner Smirnoff were up for elimination. We’ll see whether Wozniak will dance his way to victory or whether his second injury will contribute to his final elimination next episode.

Zac Efron Reportedly Leaves ‘Footloose’ Remake

The High School Musical star has dropped out of the Footloose remake, TheWrap.com reports. The website reports that he dropped out to pursue other opportunities. “Efron told the studio last week that he did not want to do another musical at this point in his career,” a senior member of the production team told the site. The source added that Efron had script approval and used a loophole to get out of his contract. “People had been working on this project since last July,” the source said.

“We were all shocked.” Efron seems to desire more serious roles. His latest film is “Me and Orson Welles,” is set for release sometime this year and is considered a more mature role for the actor.

PEOPLE reports that they will be having a dinner and wedding replay on April 3rd in Costa Rica. American Idol winner David Cook has pleaded for privacy during his tour after problems with some die heart fans. “The efforts by some fans to find our hotel rooms, call our hotel rooms, attach things to our bus, etc., is something I have to condemn,” he wrote in his MySpace Celebrity Blog. The 26 year old expressed that although he loves his fans, he does need a certain amount of privacy.

“This relationship only works when it remains healthy for both parties,” he says, “and should this behavior continue, the only thing we can do is take more preventative measures to maintain our privacy, which in turn makes us less accessible to you.”

He concluded by saying, “I hope this doesn’t come off as harsh. I merely want to nip this in the bud so we can continue to have a great experience with all of you at the shows we have coming up.”

Taylor Swift will talk about boys and write about heartbreaks, but she doesn’t believe it is necessary to share personal information about sex and virginity with the media. She tells Allure magazine that “It’s fine to talk about love publicly, but I think when you talk about virginity and sex publicly, people just automatically picture you naked. And as much as I can prevent people from picturing me naked, I’m going to.”

Many of Swift’s songs involve romance, “I have always been fascinated with fairy tales, and the idea that Prince Charming is just one castle away,” she says. “And you’re gonna run across a field and meet each other in the middle, and have an amazing, perfect movie kiss. And it’s gonna be happily ever after.”
