Anyone out there who has a love for music or a soft-spot for vinyl will certainly want to check out Record Store Day this Saturday, April 18th. Hundreds of independently owned music stores across the United States will be celebrating, and you should be too.

On this day independent music stores join as one to celebrate that which enriches our culture and our souls everyday: music. Many Universal Music Group artists will be releasing special vinyl, CD’s and promotional products exclusively for Record Store Day. Some of the participating artists include The Killers, Def Jam 25, BB King, Queen, Sublime, Whiskeytown, and more!

Lost’s Josh Holloway and wife Yessica welcomed a daughter on April 9 in Oahu, PEOPLE reported. They named their daughter Java Kumala Holloway. 

PEOPLE reports that a source told them that “Dad and Mom are absolutely thrilled,” and that “Everyone’s happy and healthy.” The couple has been married since 2004 and this is their first child.

Holloway’s co-star Daniel Dae Kim said “When you talk to him about his baby, his face completely lights up.” Kim believes he will be a fantastic father. 

Mel Gibson attended Mass at the Roman Catholic church he had built in 2005 this past Sunday. His wife was nowhere to be found. “Well,” he was overheard saying, “she’s filed for divorce.” PEOPLE reports.

Last Thursday his wife of 28 years, Robyn Gibson, signed divorce papers seeking joint custody over their 9 year old son Thomas. Apparently the couple has been officially separated since August 26, 2006, about a month after he was charged with a DUI. He started sobering up after his roadside incident in which he made anti-Semitic remarks that he later apologized. Robyn’s divorce paper says the date of separation as “to be determined.”

In light of her recent breakup, 22 year old Lindsay Lohan decided it was time for something new in her life.

PEOPLE reports that a source saw the new tat which is a Marilyn Monroe quote tattooed in cursive on her inner-wrist. Monroe’s full quote is: “Everyone’s a star and deserves the right to twinkle.” The wording is also surrounded by stars. 

It is clear that the star idolizes Monroe. Last year, she recreated Monroe’s famous nude 1962 photo shoot for New York Magazine. She told the publication at the time that  Monroe was a “prime example of what this industry can do to someone.”

Britney Spears’ successful Circus tour may be heading very south.

Representatives of the singer and father Jamie discussed in court today possibly taking taking Spears’ tour to Australia. Nothing was decided yet. Another court date has been set for April 14. E! reports.

The Circus Starring Britney Spears continues in Edmonton tonight, then continues to Vancouver before heading along the West Coast. Currently, Spears’ hits London June 3rd, where they’ll perform 8 sold out shows, and then wraps up June 17th in Manchester.

E! News reports that Linsday Lohan officially announced that her and girlfriend Samantha Ronson are on a break. Lohan tells E! that the decision was made Monday after a less than pleasant weekend with the DJ. The 22-year-old was not granted entrance into a Ronson family party on Friday. Ronson’s family members are supposedly to be blamed for these recent rumours for convincing the DJ that Lohan was “an outcast and a bully, or a wacko.”  

The couple had nearly been together for a year now. Ronson wrote on her Myspace Monday,  “Aura in pleasanton is very pleasant.”

Chris Brown is due to be arraigned shortly on felony charges of assault with when he allegedly physically attacked girlfriend Rihanna in February, E! reports.

The 19-year-old singer initially requested a postponement at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles on March 5th. The judge told brown not to “annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone.”

Casting calls for the next America’s Next Top Model season last month took an unexpected frightening turn when multiple fights broke out while hundreds waited for an audition. But producers are holding another audition coming up in New York.

The auditions will take place April 11. Like the earlier call, producers are looking for women age 18-27, who are 5′7″ and under – and from diverse backgrounds. As a safety concern, new rules state that nobody is allowed to line up overnight or before 6 a.m. on the day of. Prospective models will also be given wristbands while waiting. READ MORE »

British reality TV star Jade Goody is expected to draw thousands of mourners as well as the media this Saturday. However her young sons will not be present.The two young boys, Bobby, 5, and Freddy, 4, are being taken on a trip to Australia by their father, TV presenter Jeff Brazier. On March 22nd at the age of only 27 Goody died from a highly publicized case of cancer.

Last week gossip sites were filled with rumors that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson’s marriage was “on the rocks” due to the bassist’s busy schedule.

However on Friday, Wentz and Simpson happily kissed onstage at the Australian Video Music Awards. “Sorry, we haven’t seen each other in a while,” Simpson told the audience. “We’re going to find a quiet place to fornicate.”
