Cory MonteithCory Monteith, who plays Finn Hudson in Fox’s musical series, Glee, will be presenting at this year’s Gemini Awards Nov. 14 in Monteith’s hometown of Calgary.

Also presenting awards to honour the best in Canadian television will be Melrose Place star Jessica Lucas, Flashpoint’s Hugh Dillon, Erin Karpluck of Being Erica and The Hour host George Stroumboulopoulos. Comedian Ron James will host.


Joe Jackson Teams Up With Cristiano Ronaldo

Joe JacksonMichael Jackson’s father is planning to sell grills that look like soccer balls during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, reports TMZ. And soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo will be endorsing the Game On Products merchandise.

The two will shoot TV, magazine and Internet advertisements for the “Goalie Grill,” in early December.


Dakota Fanning is Homecoming Princess

Dakota FanningNow that she’s finished filming New Moon, Dakota Fanning has returned to a normal life as a cheerleader at Campbell Hall Episcopal High School in North Hollywood, reports E! News.

Fanning, 15, was named the school’s homecoming princess at Friday’s football game.

Anyone who didn’t get a chance to see her shake her pom-poms and show off her tiara can catch the star in the second installment of the Twilight series, which hits theatres Nov. 20.


Lil Wayne Sued for Copyright Infringement

Lil' WayneRappers Lil Wayne and Birdman are being sued by Thomas Marasciullo, who claims they used his voice on several tracks without permission, reports CBC.

Marasciullo recorded some spoken word recordings for Birdman’s label Cash Money Records in 2006. He claims they were used without his knowledge on four tracks on the pair’s joint album Like Father, Like Son and five tracks on Birdman’s 5 (Star) Stunna. He claims when he asked for compensation, he was fired as a recording engineer at the record company.

Edward Norton Beats Out Other Celebs in New York Marathon

Ed NortonFight Clubstar Edward Norton finished the New York City Marathon in three hours, 48 minutes and one second, reports E! News. Norton, 40, ran on behalf of Kenya-based charity Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, and finished faster than any other celebrity who ran the race.

Canadian Singer Alanis Morissette, ER’s Anthony Edwards, Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes, and Biggest Loser Tara Costa all participated, and finished, the 26-mile race.

Meb Keflezighi placed first with a time of two hours, nine minutes and 15 seconds.


Mel Gibson is a Father Again

This is Gibson’s eighth child and Gigorieva’s second.


Elton John Has E. Coli

Elton JohnSir Elton John has a serious case of E. Coli, reports Perez Hilton. In October, the British singer cancelled a number of concerts in Ireland and the United Kingdom due to influenza.

As a result of the illness, three of John’s upcoming shows with Billy Joel on the Face 2 Face tour have been postponed. Two concerts in Seattle, WA, planned for Nov. 4 and Nov. 7, as well as one scheduled for Nov. 10 in Portland, OR, will be rescheduled.

John is currently receiving treatment for the infection at a London hospital.

No One Wants to Be Burried Above Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn MonroeThe burial vault above where Marilyn Monroe’s remains lie was auctioned off, but failed to receive any bids, reports CBC. This is the second time the crypt of Richard Poncher has been placed on the auction block since August.

Poncher’s widow is selling the vault to pay off the mortgage on her home in Beverly Hills. He died 23 years ago and his remains will be moved to a nearby plot, she says.

The starting bid on auctioncause.com was $500,000, but Eric Gazin of the auction web site says the family was hoping to get $4 million.
