Normally we would think the prospect of falling into hundreds of needles would be something exciting for Lindsay Lohan. Yet again she has failed to demonstrate her ability to function without the aid of a 40 pounder of Vodka and Pablo Escobar’s private collection. What’s the point of quitting drinking, snorting and Sam Ronson if you’re still a hazard?
We’re not questioning her sobriety, but perhaps, her competency. That, or she would rather walk through a cactus than have her picture taken. Or perhaps she was harvesting it in an attempt to make her own peyote? No, she must have been missing the feeling of her ex-girlfriend’s prickly legs. Either way, not even a plant that can live in solitude for months without a drip of water wanted any interaction with Lindsay.
They say that behind every great man is a great woman. The same can be said that behind every great song is a great writer. An example of a great song writer is Robin Thicke. After writing songs for Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Lil Wayne, etc., Robin is out to claim his own piece of the pie. And with his song “Sex Therapy” currently #1 on Billboard, he wants a huge piece of that pie.
Quite frankly, we find it rather appalling that we would be omitted from this. Recently in a star studded post Academy Awards Show, Jimmy Kimmel featured a segment on a league of extraordinary handsome gentlemen. Among which were the likes of Mathew McConaughey, Patrick Dempsy, Matt Damon, Lenny Kravitz, Ben Afleck, Sting and many other Hollywood studs. To be blunt we’re upset. No, upset isn’t strong enough description. We’re appalled.
How could they plan this segment without even considering andPOP’s two golden boys? We’re handsome, funny and we’re on XM Radio. To be fair, we’re not 100 percent sure Jimmy Kimmel has heard our show on channel 153. Regardless, we would like to make a plea to the online community to lobby with us. Either way, this is one of the funniest things on the internet this week and a solid way to cap off the Oscars. Well done Jimmy! Well done.
Hedley is certainly maturing as a band – these aren’t a bunch of kids anymore who suddenly made it big. With that maturity has come an interesting perspective on the music business. Hedley talks to us about today’s music biz and releasing their latest album “The Show Must Go On”. We also play some pinball.
Although the Haiti relief effort has lost some attention from the media in recent weeks, this still remains a serious humanitarian issue. To help raise funds, CP Records had some amazing Canadian Urban artists perform a benefit concert to help raise money. We had a chance to speak to Choclair, Karl Wolf, Danny Fernandes, and Belly who all performed at the event.
Ever since the release of ‘Times Up’ in 1995, Classified has brought an unprecedented enthusiasm to hip hop. He is renowned for his straight up, honest lyricism and has never tried to hide the fact that he’s a proud Canadian. Thirteen albums later, he’s signed to a major label and continues to share is uninhibited patriotism with his latest single ‘Oh Canada.’ Just in time for the Vancouver Olympics. To get the single and more crafty sampling I suggest picking up his latest album ‘Self Explanatory.’
It’s Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block. Must we say more? This guy is a pop star god. Even though he has been out of the limelight for a few years, he still has people chasing him (which we witnessed personally). Joey spoke to us about his new solo effort along with giving us a glimpse into the good old days.
It’s interesting – often times when we go out and shoot interviews there are always a couple of people asking if they can come along (which we always say no). But when people found out we were interviewing Ke$ha, there was a mob of people asking to come! And not only that, it was all types of different people from different age groups, different sexes, income brackets, etc. That just shows how huge she is! By the way, Ke$ha also asked Jordan before the interview if she looked like a tranny. He said no. What do you think?
Toronto comedian Daniel Woodrow has created what I think is going to be a hilarious phenomenon. It’s not often I come across a youtube video I like enough to post it on the site, however, this one gets my stamp of approval. I’m hoping some of you will attempt play the game and post some replies. Watch the whole video through, it’s my personal favorite youtube video this week.
Jordan is tired of the term “Breakout Artist”, especially when used to describe Cobra Starship. Although they have only popped on everyone’s radar during the past year, these guys have been hustling for quite some time. But that hustle is starting to pay off as one of the biggest bands in 2009 – and 2010 is looking even better! Also follow us on Twitter at twitter.com/andpop
