Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - It must have been deja vu for Kelly Clarkson as she performed on the results show for "Canadian Idol" last night.
The first winner of "American Idol" was the guest mentor for the Canadian Idol wannabes this week, and then performed two of her hits - "Never Again" and a beautiful softer version of "Because of You."
Watching Clarkson perform it is easy to see why she won the competition, and why she is one of the few Idols to have actual success in the industry after winning the title of American Idol.
Clarkson also received her platinum album from Mulroney for her latest CD, My December, because it achieved platinum status in Canada.
There was no shocking bottom two this week with Matt Rapley and Dwight D'Eon in the spot.
"I put my faith in the people because there's only one rule in this show: ultimately Canadians pick the Idol," Zack Werner said in response to Mulroney's question about whether he expected to see Rapley and D'Eon in the bottom two.
Ultimately it was Rapley who was sent home, while D'Eon moves on to the top four.
"There are moments you have performed on this show that I will remember forever," Mulroney told him before Idol ran his clipfest.
Next week the Idols do standard songs, complete with a big band and an audience dress code, as well as Paul Anka.
