Add the andPOP Facebook Application - LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Swedish songwriter-producer Max Martin picked up the songwriter of the year honor for the third consecutive year at ASCAP's 18th annual Pop Music Awards on Tuesday night. Martin shared the top prize with Andreas Carlsson. Each wrote or co-wrote four prize-winning songs. Other winners included Andreas Carlsson, Diane Warren, Desmond Child, Brian McKnight, Savage Garden, Filter, Timbaland, Lenny Kravitz, Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon, T-Boz of TLC and John Rzeznik of Goo Goo Dolls. ASCAP's Pop Awards were presented to more than 600 songwriters or publishers who had the most-performed songs during the 2000 survey year. The ceremony, which honored songwriters and publishers, was held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, and was hosted by Marilyn Bergman, Academy Award-winning songwriter and ASCAP president and chairman.
