Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - KATE WINSLET used this year's Academy Awards to treat her family to an unusual getaway.
The actress, Oscar-nominated for her role in LITTLE CHILDREN, invited husband SAM MENDES, and her two young kids, MIA and JOE, to join her in Hollywood ahead of the annual awards.
She says, "It's half-term (vacation) for my kids, so it made sense to turn the Oscars into a family holiday.
"We've been swimming and done lots of visits to places the kids loved.
"Sam has babysat while I've tried on my frock and sorted out what I'm going to wear on the night."
