- (Launch) - Mariah Carey is set to begin filming her role in "Wise Girls," expected to be released next year. Carey will portray a waitress working in a restaurant owned by the Mafia. "Wise Girls," which has been compared to "GoodFellas," will also star Mira Sorvino. The role comes on the heels of Carey's summer release "All That Glitters," and her recent switch from Columbia Records to Virgin Records. The "All That Glitters" soundtrack is scheduled to be released Aug. 31.
