(andPOP) - A radio advertisement for horror movie SAW III has been banned from airing during the periods when parents drive their children to and from school, after complaints it scared young kids.

The British commercial for the DVD release of the film - which can only be viewed by persons over 18 years old - features a woman screaming and pleading for help as the sound of a chainsaw roars in the background.

The ad was receiving airplay during peak times on several major radio stations across the country.

But the UK's Advertising Standards Authority issued the ban after receiving complaints from five concerned mothers, and ruled the advertisement should not be played when youngsters could be listening.

A spokesperson says, "We considered the ads were likely to harm children."
