Aguilera Triumphs At NRJ Music Awards

(andPOP) - CHRISTINA AGUILERA and French rapper DIAM'S emerged triumphant at this weekend's NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France with two awards each.

American singer Aguilera was named Best International Female Artist, while her BACK TO BASICS picked up Best Album.

Diam's was awarded the Best French Female Artist and her track LA BOULETTE was named Best French Song.

EVANESCENCE, RIHANNA and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE also won awards but were not in Cannes to collect them.

But while most French artists who played at the ceremony mimed to their music, US artists including Aguilera, NELLY FURTADO, FERGIE, SEAN PAUL and GWEN STEFANI all performed live.

Furtado teamed up for a performance with French hip-hop star M POKORA, while BOB SINCLAR and LIONEL RICHIE sang ALL AROUND THE WORLD together.
