(andPOP) - The bets on who will bite the dust in the final Harry Potter book have begun.

BBC News reports that the boy wizard himself is the top choice to die in the final installment of JK Rowling's series. The book is still being written.

The top choice of who kills Potter is Lord Voldemort, followed by Professor, Draco Malfroy, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger at 6-1.

Rowling has already said the final installment will be tragic and that there will be a death.

Bookmakers William Hill says that Potter is the top choice as to who will die at the end of the book.

"JK mentioned that Harry might be killed off and the general consensus seems to be that Harry is the final Horcrux and to ensure that Voldemort dies he will need to be sacrificed," says William Hill spokesperson Rupert Adams.

Last week, the title of the book was released it will be called "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
