Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Dennis Linde, the man who wrote one of Elvis' last hits, "Burning Love," has died. He was 63.
The BBC reports that the songwriter had been suffering from a rare lung disease.
Apart from writing the 1972 Elvis hit, Linde penned such notable songs as The Dixie Chicks' "Goodbye Earl" and Garth Brooks' "Callin' Baton Rouge."
The Texas native was also inducted to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2001, and was named songwriter of the year in 1994 by music rights group BMI.
According to his family, a memorial celebration will be held in the new year.
