An animated book about Doherty, "A Boy Called Pete" has been sold to the small-screen to made into a TV program. The book is one of a series created by Peter Robinson that follows the lives of pop icons including Britney Spears, Madonna, Eminem and Robbie Williams. Bringing the other cartoon stars to life is in the works as well.
"A Boy Called Pete" tells the story of a young man who "sings songs and wears hats," enjoys "mind-bending drugs" and has a girlfriend named Kate.
"I don't think anyone could read about the life of Pete Doherty and think doing drugs is a good thing," said Robinson.
According to the writer, 1,000 copies of the book have been sold so far. An air date has not yet been announced.
