(andPOP) - If Mary J. Blige is looking to follow up on her stunning Billboard Awards sweep, she's off to a good start.

It was announced Thursday the R&B singer earned eight nominations for the upcoming U.S. Grammy Awards. She won nine awards this week at the Billboards for her album The Breakthrough.

The 49th Grammy Awards gala is scheduled to air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 11, 2007.
