(andPOP) - The Black Eyed Peas won all three musical awards they were up for at the American Music Awards last night.

The group was up for favourite group in the rap/hip hop category and the soul/R&B category, as well as favourite rap/hip-hop album for "Monkey Business." The Red Hot Chilli Peppers won two awards, favourite pop/rock group and alternative music artist.

Both artists were not present at the ceremony. Other (absent) winners included Kelly Clarkson for favourite female pop/rock artist and favourite adult contemporary artist, Eminem for favourite male rap/hip-hop artist, Faith Hill for female country artist, Tim McGraw for country album, Toby Keith for male country artist, and Shakira for Latin artist.

Nickelback won for favourite pop/rock album with "All the Right Reasons."
