Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Diddy's first studio record in five years, "Press Play," is set to debut on next week's Billboard albums chart at #1.
And the hip hop mogul, who along with making records also heads his own label (Bad Boy) and clothing line (Sean John), couldn't be more thrilled.
"This #1 right here is probably the most heartfelt one to me," Diddy told MTV News. "Because this is the only album where it wasn't about the extra drama that was going in my life; it was about the music. Also, being away for five years and the climate of this industry, nothing is a given. And to come out and have a #1 album on my fifth album, it's definitely one of the greatest feelings. I'm just appreciating it more and understanding it, after all the ups and downs in my career."
"Press Play" moved 170,500 units in its first week of sales, giving Diddy his third #1 record.
The second-highest debut after Diddy was "The High Road," the latest album from teen sensation JoJo, who came in at #3 with 108,000 units sold. Other top 10 debuts include country singer Dierks Bentley's "Long Trip Home" and "American Idol" Ruben Studdard's latest "The Return," which opened at #8.
Rounding out the top ten are Evanescence with "The Open Door" at #2; Justin Timberlake's "Futuresex/ LoveSounds," which has climbed back up the charts again in its sixth week; Rod Stewart's "Still the Same ... Great Rock Classics of Our Time" at #6; Hinder's "Extreme Behavior" at #7; Tony Bennett's "Duets: An American Classic" at #9; and the Killers' "Sam's Town" in the tenth spot.
