Paris Hilton and Shanna Moakler Duke it Out

(andPOP) - Paris Hilton has filed assault charges against Shanna Moakler, the ex-wife of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.

E! Online reports that Hilton said to the cops that she was confronted by Moakler at a club in L.A. late Tuesday night.

"Shortly after her arrival, apparently Shanna appeared and, according to a complaint that's just been filed, she struck Paris in her jaw with closed fists. Paris was hit. She immediately exited the club through the back door.

"Paris told me it was completely out of the blue--without any provocation whatsoever," Elliott Mintz, Hilton's publicist told TMZ.com.

Hilton and Barker have been seen together recently.

However, Moakler is claiming she was assaulted by Hilton and that the two exchanged words when one of Hilton's ex-boyfriends intervened, grabbing Moakler by the wrists, pouring a drink on her and "shoving" her down a flight of stairs.

Moakler has since filed charges as well. Police say both matters are under investigation, and no one has been charged.
