(andPOP) - The role of Bellatrix Lestrange in the upcoming film "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" has finally been filled. Actress Helena Bonham Carter signed on with the project, which hits theatres next July.

In the book, Lestrange is the cousin of Sirius Black and a "Death Eater," or follower of the evil Lord Voldemort.

Bonham Carter most recently starred in the remake of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

Other recent cast additions include George Harris as Kingsley Shacklebolt, Natalia Tena as Nymphadora Tonks, Kathryn Hunter as Mrs. Arabella Figg, and 14-year-old Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood. The role of Dolores Umbridge will be taken on by Imelda Staunton.

The franchise's three main stars -- Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson -- will be back as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, respectively.

Director David Yates will be at the helm on the project.
