(andPOP) - A new BBC movie, inspired by the life of King Henry VIII's second wife Anne Boleyn, has landed actress Scarlett Johansson for one of the leading roles.

Titled "The Other Boleyn Girl," the flick is based on a novel about various struggles for power in the Boleyn family, particularly between sisters Anne and Mary.

While Johansson will take on the character of Mary, Natalie Portman has been given the title role.

The novel, written by Philippa Gregory, was previously adapted for the big screen by the BBC in 2003. Natasha McElhone starred as Anne Boleyn in that version.

The role of King Henry VIII is expected to be filled by Australian actor Eric Bana.

The movie, to be directed by Justin Chadwick, is scheduled to begin shooting in October.
