Oprah: I'm Not Gay

(andPOP) - Oprah Winfrey is once again proclaiming that despite the tabloid rumours to the contrary, she and best friend Gayle King are not lesbian lovers.

E! Online is reporting that Winfrey is discussing the subject in an article in next month's issue of O Magazine.

"I understand why people think we're gay. There isn't a definition in our culture for this kind of bond between women. So I get why people have to label it - how can you be this close without it being sexual?" Winfrey says in her article, which also discusses how the two women became friends and how their friendship has lasted over 30 years.

"The truth is, if we were gay, we would tell you, because there's nothing wrong with being gay," King adds in the article.

Winfrey has been in a relationship with Stedman Graham, and when the tabloids aren't proclaiming her gay affair with King, it is her relationship with Graham that is in the headlines (more often than not it is rumours of the couple's break up that is the tabloid fodder).
