(andPOP) - Canadian actress Kim Cattrall has come to the defense of the now defunct Elton John television show "Him and Us."

The show, which was to air on ABC in the fall, was co-created by John and co-starred Cattrall. The show centred around a flamboyant gay musician, Max Flash and the people in his life. The show was loosely based on John's life.

ABC did not announce the show on its fall schedule or as a mid-season replacement.

?I?m not sure why but it didn?t work out. It would have been a great series, perhaps the subject matter might have been to much for some people,? Cattrall told U.K.'s The Stage.

Cattrall was supposed to play the lead character's agent.
