Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - This year, Christmas shopping is bound to be a star-studded affair, especially if you do it at Wal-Mart. The retail giant launched its new holiday campaign yesterday, unveiling ads that feature the likes of Garth Brooks, Destiny?s Child, and Jesse McCartney, just to name a few.
The ads will feature each of the celebrities, as well as country singer Martina McBride and singer-actress Queen Latifah, at their actual homes to fit with the campaign?s theme, "Home for the Holidays." This will be the first time Wal-Mart has used celebrities in an ad campaign, which will span print, TV, radio and Internet. The stars will also appear on posters and signs in Wal-Mart stores.
"This campaign corresponds to our overall objective of being more relevant to the broad range of customers who shop in our stores," said John Fleming, Wal-Mart?s chief marketing officer. "We expect our focus on familiar celebrities who are enjoying themselves at home with family and friends to resonate well with everyone who is looking forward to being home for the holidays this year."
