(andPOP) - Grammy award-winning singer songwriter John Mayer is best known for his pop hits such as ?Your Body Is A Wonderland? and ?No Such Thing? but now Mayer wants the world to know him as a blues act.

So Mayer recently put together the John Mayer Trio, consisting of guitarist/vocalist Mayer, drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Pino Palladino, and the group is currently on tour in North America playing a mix of blues covers, a few of Mayer?s familiar tunes, and some new blues originals.

Now, the Trio is set to release their first album, a live disc on Aware/Columbia records, on Nov. 22. The tracks will be culled from the band?s tour stop in Chicago, Sept. 21-22 at the House of Blues. The disc was originally expected out in December.

The first single, ?Who Did You Think I Was,? is available exclusively on Apple?s iTunes music store. Also available is the b-side, ?Come When I Call.? Look out for the video for ?Who Did You Think I Was,? which has been shot by acclaimed director Gus Van Sant (?Good Will Hunting,? ?My Own Private Idaho?).
