Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - In late June, andPOP reported that Brad Pitt will descend on Calgary to work on his new film, The Assassination of Jesse James.
He has been making headlines since his arrival a couple weeks ago.
The latest incident involved a "bounty" on the celebrity. Sister radio stations 96X and K-Rock offered a $10,000 donation to charity if Brad Pitt made an on-air appearance, according to Sun Media.
The promotion has since been cancelled. The Calgary Sun reports that the contest angered the Edmonton acting community as well as produced a cease-and-desist order from Warner Brothers. The stations involved claim they did nothing illegal and have not received legal papers.
Last week, Pitt made news when a large crowd gathered outside the Royal Tyrell Museum in Alberta while Pitt and Angelina Jolie viewed a dinosaur exhibit. Both had to be ushered out an alternative exit.
In Edmonton the same week, thousands waited in line for hours for a chance to be cast as an extra his movie.
Pitt, not only stars as outlaw Jesse James in the new Western but he is also co-producing it.
The movie is slated to film in Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg until November, leaving several more opportunities for Pitt to put the Canadian film scene on the radar.
The release date for the film is set for 2006.
