Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Nicole Kidman dazzled us in "Moulin Rouge," kept us on the edge of our seats in "The Others," and resurrected the charasmatic Isabel Bigelow in "Bewitched."
Now, this Oscar winning performer recently signed up to play the lead in a remake of the 1956 sci-fi classic, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," showing there are no boundaries in her range as an actor.
Simply titled, "Invasion," the film will start shooting in the fall on location in Washington D.C., Baltimore and
New York.
Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, and produced by Joel Silver and Vertigo Entertainment, the film features Kidman as a thirty-something psychiatrist living in Washington D.C.
After witnessing widespread and erratic human behaviour, Kidman must stop aliens from capturing her son who has the ability to put a stop to this extra-terrestrial invasion.
Sound vaguely familiar? Perhaps, Kidman consulted her former husband, Tom Cruise on the plot before she signed on.
"Invasion," is scheduled to be released just in time for the 50th anniversary of the original.
